Percy POV

Everything was blaring into view. Annabeth was looking into my eyes, desperately trying to wake me. She was yelling something, but I couldn't hear anything.

Things were happening too fast. I was immediately on a stretcher, people yelling things at me, but all I heard was silence.

I was dazed as I looked at Annabeth, her climbing into the ambulance with me along with my mom.

They looked worried, but things began to blur.

I looked at the medic, who was telling me something. I couldn't hear anything as the medic continued to say something.

My eyelids began to get heavy as I stared at the heart monitor that was connected to my body. I looked at the beating rhythm until it began to slow down.

I'm dying..

But then I remembered about Bob. I promised him I'd help him.

But I failed.

I didn't get to tell the stars I said hello.

I quickly looked at Annabeth, using all my strength to talk. She had tears in her eyes, holding my hand as if she was holding her life line.

"Annabeth-" I whispered.

"Percy, please-"

"Listen. I promised something I couldn't do. So do it for me. Tell the stars that Bob says hello."

"No, Percy. You'll tell the stars that Bob says hello. You can't die on me." Annabeth cried.

I put my hand on the back of her head. I pulled her closer to me, until our lips touched. A spark erected through me as she kissed back. This will be the last time I see Annabeth. Better make the best of it.

I smiled as I pulled back.

Annabeth cried into my hand.

I closed my eyes as the last thing I saw was a long line going across the heart monitor.

Annabeth POV

That's it.

He was gone.

And he wasn't waking up.

The medics used everything they can. But he wasn't getting up.

I sat in the waiting room of the hospital, tears staining my shirt as they kept flowing. Sally was upset more than ever, excusing herself to go to the bathroom. I knew she would want to be alone, so I let her be.

Percy was in one of the hospital rooms, doctors taking tests and still trying to find away to wake him up.

But I knew it wasn't going to work.

He kissed me for the first time, and the last. But he told me to tell the stars hello for him and Bob. Bob was the officer who saved me and Percy from Gabe and Luke. Did Bob save Percy again?

A doctor approachd me, a solemn expression printed on his face.

"Annabeth Chase. Friend of Jackson?" He asked.

"Y-yes." I nodded, wiping away tears.

"I'm sorry. I really am. The bullet holes have gotten infected, and his immune system wasn't working properly. After constant injuries, his immune system gave up. He's...He's gone." The doctor frowned.

I cried even louder, screams of agony pouring out. The doctor left, leaving me to cry my heart out.

Sally came back, and sat next to me. I told her the news.

We cried, hugging each other for comfort.

Sally decided to let me sleep over as she drove us to her house. When we reached the house, Gabe's truck was parked there.

We didn't even have to think twice. Sally immediately grabbed her phone, contacting the police. We stayed in the car, waiting for police to show up. As lights blared through our neighborhood, five police cars drove up to Sally's house.

They got out, charging into the home. We sat their for ten minutes, until an angry looking hand-cuffed Gabe stumbled out.

We got out of the car, and watched as Gabe got into the back of the police car.

"Thank you for calling." A police officer nodded at us, and they all drove off.

As we entered the house, I noticed everything was damaged.

"We'll clean tomorrow. I'm going to sleep. Feel free to sleep anywhere you like." Sally sighed as she left to her room.

I walked around the house, looking at all the damage. Beer bottles scattered across the floor, broken debris littering every inch of the house. When I finally reached Percy's room, I paused.

Tears sprung my eyes as I entered, taking in the scent of the ocean.

His clothes were scrambled all over the floor. There were blood stains onto his mattress. I sat on his bed, sobbing into my hands.

I wanted Percy back. I couldn't let him die like that. Now we were going to have a real funeral. One with an actual body in the casket.

I got up walked next to his window. Tree branches were nearby, poking to the roof of the house. I thought a minute before opening the window and carefully climbing the tree branches to the roof. I jumped off a branch, and landed onto the roof of his house.

I walked up the mountain of bricks, then stood at the top. I sighed as the dark night was only illuminated by the stars.

I sat down onto the top of the roof, then laid down, and looked at the stars.

"Percy and Bob says hello." I said, tears springing to my eyes.

I closed my eyes, and tried to think positive.

But nothing was positive about a person dying.

After twenty minutes on the roof, I heard Sally screaming my name. I rushed towards the tree branches, and jumped through Percy's window.

"Sally? What's wrong?!" I rushed up to her, running into her room.

"It's a call from the hospital! I'll put it on speaker." Sally pressed the green button on her phone.

"Sally Jackson?" The voice on the phone spoke up.

"Speaking." Sally asnwered.

"This is the hospital you left your son at. There's good news but bad news."

"Yes? What's the good news?" Sally said, anxious.

"It's a miracle. Your son is alive."

"Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god!" I yelled, running around the room. Sally smiled widely.

"But there's bad news..." The doctor said, clearing his throat.

"Which is?" Sally asked, her eyebrows furrowing.

"He's crippled."
