Chapter 2

Annabeth

I wake up to a screaming Helen.

"Wake up! Time for school, bitch!" Helen yelled in my ear. She pulled away the covers and I shivered from the coldness.

"Fuck off. Five more minutes." I mumbled, covering my head with my pilow.

"Get up! No excuses!" Helen continued to yell.

I groaned and reluctantly got up. She walked out of the room.

"Happy now bitch?" I mumbled, walking to the bathroom, looking like a zombie.

After doing my business and brushing my hair, I got out of the bathroom. I went to my closet and pulled on a pair of black jeans with a white shirt, then topped it off with a leather jacket.

Wearing a leather jacket makes me think of an old friend in San Francisco. After all, she did give me this jacket when I left to the airport.

-Flashback-

"Annie, just remember that you'll always have a home here," Thalia Grace hugged me one last time.

"I'm going to miss you Thalia." Tears streamed down my face, while I was hugging the best of my friends.

"Hey, Annie, you better visit. Or else." Thalia let go and placed both her hands on my shoulders. She looked deep into my eyes. Stormy blue to stormy grey.

"I will. And you'll visit me too?" I asked, tears rolling down my cheek.

"Of course." Thalia smiled at me and looked over my shoulder. She scowled and glared.

"Hurry up Annabeth! We are leaving!" Helen yelled, while she walked into the airport with Bobby and Mathew.

I turned around and sighed. I clutched my suit case and began walking behind her.

"Wait!" Thalia stopped me, and I turned around. She took off her most valuable thing to her. Her leather jacket.

"Take it." Thalia ordered. She held out her jacket, expecting me to take it.

"No Thals. It's your favorite jacket. Keep it." I shook my head, not wanting her to give up something so special to her.

"Take it. This way, you'll never forget about me." Thalia grinned and I eventually took the jacket.

"Fine. But it's only fair.." I took off my backpack, and took off my sweater. I handed out my sweater, and Thalia took it.

"Great. Now we have something to remember each other by." Thalia laughed, and hugged me once more.

"Good luck Annie." Thalia smiled and let go.

"Bye Thals." I smiled back, and picked up my belongings and walked into the airport. Leaving one of my best friends behind.

-End Of Flashback-

I smiled at the memory. I quickly picked up my backpack, then walked down stairs. Helen was there in the kitchen, with Bobby and Mathew. They were eating pancakes, but there wasn't a plate for me.

"Well, about time." Helen rolled her eyes.

I glared at her, then walked into the kitchen. I quickly grabbed an apple, then went to go put on my shoes. I slang one arm around the strap of my backpack and take a bite of my apple.

"Bye." I said, walking out and slamming the door.

I began walking towards a school named Goode. What kind of name is Goode? San Fransisco is way better.

While I was simply minding my own business, a teenage boy ran into me, with his skateboard. He skidded across the side walk, while I just got ran over by his skateboard. I felt dizzy, and I quickly got up.

"Watch where you are going, dumb ass!" I hissed at him, while he was limping towards his skateboard.

"Sorry, you were in the way." He rolled his eyes. I glared at him. He had a sea green eyes that I could get lost in. He had a cut on his forehead, and I almost felt sorry for him. But he was rude, and I couldn't let that pass. So the only reasonable thing to do was to come up with a good comeback.

"Sorry that apparently you lost your vision and can't see people walking here!" I fumed and I pushed him out of the way. I continued to walk, now in a hurry, trying to get to school.

When I reached to math class, I quickly sat in the back, and waited for class to start. A teacher named Mrs. Craig came in and started explaining things about this year. The first day was always the easiest, so I could just sit back and relax.

Until he came in.

The boy who ran me over. He looked around the room, and when he spotted me, I glared at him. He glared right back.

"Well, Mr. Jackson, care to explain why you are late?" Mrs. Craig raised an eyebrow.

"No, I'm good." He said simply, obviously not giving a damn.

"Well, then you can sit by Annabeth Chase in the back." Mrs. Craig pointed towards me.

No! That little piece of-

"What was that?" Mrs. Craig asked. I thought I said it out loud, but instead 'Jackson' kid replied.

"Nothing." He sat by me, and threw his backpack on the floor. I groaned and tried not to make any contact with Jackson whatsoever. While Mrs. Craig continued to teach the lesson, I saw Jackson playing with his pencil. I rolled my eyes.

When class ended, Jackson was gone. I continue my other classes until it was lunch. I didn't have any friends, nor did I have a lunch. I walked down to the cafeteria before I heard arguing. I walked through the open doors, and leaned on the wall.

The Jackson kid was arguing with a tall sandy blonde haired guy.

"-do you?" The sandy haired blonde kid gripped onto Jackson's collar. He started dragging him towards the trash can.

"Fuck off, Luke!" Jackson tried to lessen his grip, but he was failing terribly. I watched as the now Luke kid, drop Jackson into the trash.

I was going to laugh, but I decided to be a bit nice today. While Jackson struggled to get out of the can, I watched his face closely. I noticed a black eye, and a bruised cheek. Luke did that? I don't think so.

I watched as Jackson tried to punch Luke, but instead tripped and started getting kicked in the ribs. I winced at just looking at it, then heard everyone laughing.

Damn this is one cruel place.

I watched as Mrs. Craig yelled at Jackson, and he walked out. He noticed me and I tried to give him the best sympathetic look I could muster.

He walked towards the boy bathrooms, and I silently followed him. When he walked in, I stood outside, leaning on the wall.

I heard a "Fuck my life!" and I guessed it was from Jackson. I waited for a couple more minutes until Jackson walked out of the bathroom.

"What do you want?" He growled at me. Now I could see (A/N: Okay I just have to say, that while writing see, I accidentally spelled it as wee. Someone kill me.) his black eye more closely, and bruised cheek.

"What's with your face?" I asked. Okay, I didn't intend to make it sound so rude.

"What do you mean?" He asked, quite annoyed but also worried.

"You know what I mean." I looked into hi sea green eyes, and waited for him to answer.

"Mind your own business." He growled and walked away.

There are some questions that I need answers to. I continued the rest of my classes, and when it was the end, I walked back home. I saw Jackson grabbing his skateboard and skating down the sidewalk.

There is something mysterious in that kid.

-oOo
