Chapter 9
"Do you have everything packed?" Montana asks, dumping our lunch cartons on the trash can under the kitchen sink.
"Yeah...But uh, I can't close the suitcase." I bite on my bottom lip, raising my hands to my face when she bursts out laughing, slapping the kitchen counter with her hands. "Oh gosh, my dear, you are adorable. How much did you actually pack?" she wipes at her eyes, giggling.
"Ugh, just come on and help me close it," I mutter, walking towards my room. It was Thursday and we were flying to Los Angeles tomorrow before heading to Brazil from there a day later. I would have been excited but I just felt a massive amount of responsibility and nothing else.
We ended up having a silent but fun birthday party for my brother. He loved being the center of attention and was showered with presents. He went home happy and that was enough for me so I came back home to a silent house after running errands and started with the packing. I made a good effort at cleaning up my place too, trying to avoid Luke from my thoughts as much as possible.
"Earth to Sierra! Did you seriously pack your entire closet?!" Montana asks me, her eyes widened as she stares as the overflowing suitcase at the foot of my bed.
"No! Okay, maybe half of it." I confess, rubbing my temples. There was this agitation in my body that I couldn't get rid of, my muscles were always tensed.
"You don't need all these clothes!"
"I do too! We're going away for a month!"
She shakes her head at me. "Haven't you heard of shopping? We're traveling, Sierra! After the first week here we're going to Asia. Can't you imagine all the shopping we will get to do there?"
Why hadn't I thought of that? The last time I was in Asia, it was when I was twelve.
"You're smart," I smile.
"I know. Where would you be without me?" she flips her hair over her shoulder, "Unload this crap right now!"
"Later, I'll do it later." I drop onto my bed filled with bundles of clothes instead, yawning.

Luke's Point of View
"You took all my bloody boxers, Michael, now I don't have any."
"No, You do. Check the bottom drawer."
Oh.
"It's here," I mutter, not looking his way to avoid his smug smile. The doorbell rings as I put the last of my clothes into the suitcase. I didn't own much and most of the suitcase was always filled with presents from fans I didn't have the heart to leave behind.
"I'll get it."
It's been two days since I found out about Ana and I have been doing everything I possibly can to avoid any thoughts about her. I went out today in the morning and took pictures with every fan that was waiting outside. I will never fall into that hole again, I keep promising myself that.
Opening the door I stop short when I see who it is.
"Hello, Lukey."
---
"So let me get this straight, the two of you," I point my finger at Addy and Montana, "—have a band member wrapped around your fabulous little fingers?" They blush in turn, Addy shoves a sushi in her mouth with her chopsticks to hide her smile.
"I taught you guys well, didn't I?" I joke.
"Of course mate, that's why you're the only single one here." Katelyn nudges me with her shoulder.
"I am personally offended, Katelyn, how dare you, you're still single too!" We had all decided to meet up for a final lunch date at one of our favorite Sushi places.
"So are you guys official? Because then imma have to make my "ignore the haters and follow your heart speech." Troye looks from Addy to Montana.
"Sort of..." They both say at the same time.
"Don't let them get you girls alright? And please for god sake use a condom? The number of groupies they've had in their twenty years is...wow." Troye opens his arms wide to emphasize the point, laughing.
"Ash is twenty-two." Addy corrects.
"Whatever, that's an addition of two years, don't make me drop my busy schedule and come punch rock stars in the face for hurting my best girls alright? I hope I won't have too."
"Aw, Troye, baby we love you." Montana coos.
"You won't have to worry about me. I'm single as a Pringle and I'm ready to throw a punch any day." I grin, raising my glass.
"Sure, keep telling yourself that until Hemmings turns your single Pringle into crumbs."
"He hates me Troye, shut up." I glare at him as the others burst out laughing. To a person listening in, we probably sounded like fifteen-year-olds. Not adults with real life jobs and bills to pay. Sad but true.
"Let's toast, for a good tour, good relationships and good luck." Addy raises her glass.
"Toast!" We all cheer, clinking glasses.

Luke's Point of View
"Mum?! What are you doing here?" I was shocked to see my mother standing in front of me. I haven't seen her in almost two months. I couldn't bear to go home. There were too many memories of Ana everywhere.
Mum doesn't say a word but instead, extends her arms to me. I'm my mother's son so I walk into them, suddenly close to tears. Fuck.
"I got an anonymous call from a friend of yours, she told me some of the things that have been happening," she mutters, letting go of me.
Who called her?
"Why didn't I know any of this? I know you broke up with Ana and I knew you were hurting but when I asked you if you needed me here you said no. Why did you say no, Luke?" She sounded heartbroken. I've told her everything all these years but I was an adult now and I felt like I shouldn't burden her anymore. This was mine and Ana's pain to live with. Well, just mine now I see.
"I'm sorry," I whisper.
"It's okay baby, but you know you can come to me no matter what." She runs her hand through my hair.
"I know mum, I know." I hug her again, tighter this time. I can't tell you, mum.
"You look well now, though." She pats my back and I give her my best smile. Of course, I do. I look happy when I want too.
Don't show them.

Sierra's Point Of View
We were ushered through the airport in a breeze as the band is driven straight to the plane by cars. There were a lot of fans waiting outside waiting to see them and my heart broke for them. I was once one of them too, waiting in the crowds to catch a glimpse.
"Okay, so final check before we board, we have everything right?" Addy asks Montana and I hurriedly.
"Yes mom, calm down." I laugh. I was nervous than all of them right now. I didn't want to see Luke or be anywhere near him. If it wasn't for Addy and Montana dating two of them now, we could have happily been on a normal flight to LA with normal people. Sigh.
While walking towards the plane I observe all the people running around, pushing boxes and dragging suitcases. The jet was a huge sleek silver beauty. I've always loved airplanes, its ability to fly and carry people in them always amazed me. They carried people who wanted to start over, people who wanted to chase their dreams from one place to another or when you wanted to fly to the people you love. It was all quite magical.
As we climb up the stairs the air hostess beams at us "Welcome aboard ladies."
"Hello." I greet her politely.
"Ashton!" I hear Addy shriek as I look around and see that the band are already here, except for Luke.
Thank god. Hope we're leaving him behind.
"Hey, you guys," I smile, waving at them.
"Era!" All three of them chorus as Michael comes up to me for a hug.
"Haven't seen you in a while." He says into my hair.
"Likewise, how have you been Mikey?"
"Great! Do you like my new hair color?" He asks, turning his head from side to side for me to see. He has changed his hair to a jet black. I had already seen pictures of it on an update account. The fandom was going crazy like they do every time he changes the color of his hair.
I was wondering why the rainbow unicorns haven't adopted him yet, but I wasn't about to say so. "I absolutely love it." He really did look great, the black contrasted well with his pale skin and light green eyes.
Looking around I admire the interior. "This is probably the most expensive jet I've ever been on." I let Michael know.
"It's pretty cool huh? We just got this one recently." He gives me a satisfied look. The jet had plush black leather seats enough to fit quite a lot of people frankly and a doorway to what I assume is a bedroom. There is a tiny bar in the corner as well.
Michael puts a drink in my hand. "You need to relax, stop looking so freaked out."
"Yeah, Sierra. Relax." Calum tells me, Montana sitting on his lap with her arms wrapped around his neck.
"I'm just a little tired you guys." I twirl a piece of my hair around my finger, sipping the cold drink in my hand.
"Come on then." Michael takes my hand, starting to drag me towards a seat when I hear heavy footsteps behind me.
I turn around, coming face to face with Luke.
Ugh.
"Hope everyone is having a good day." He smirks, pointedly ignoring me. He has bags under his eyes and his hair is ruffled in every direction.
"Finally, what took you so long?" Ashton asks, his arms wrapped around Addy's waist with his chin on her shoulder. He ignores Ashton's question "I'm not late am I? Didn't want to miss the party. Where's my girl though?" Luke asks rudely, looking down at my hand in Michael's.
"Dude, stop being a jerk and take your damn seat. We're about to take off." Calum interrupts, anger evident on his face.
"But she's sitting in my seat," he says sarcastically, pointing at Montana and earning glares from all of us. I stare down at my feet because the anger was making my face go red. What an asshole.
He pushes past us and walks to the seat at the very end, sits down while all but throwing his bag at the surprised air hostess and puts his headphones on, ignoring us all. I couldn't imagine what the boys had to deal with because of Luke every day.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, we are ready for take off. Please take your seats and fasten your seat belts. We request that all electronic devices be turned off until we fly above ten thousand feet. We will notify you when it is safe to use such devices. Our flight time will be of five hours and fifteen minutes. Thank you." the pilot's intercom turns off.
"Jerk," Michael mutters under his breath, giving Luke a final glare before we take our seats facing Calum and Montana.
I give Monti a sympathetic look. She smiles at me,"Screw him" she mouths and takes her seat too, getting up off of Calum's lap.
I fasten my seat belt and run a hand through my hair. I feel someone's eyes on me, and looking up I see that it's Luke. His vacant eyes were boring into me.
I quickly look away but my mind plays tricks on me, making me look up at him again. The vacant look was gone in an instant and he was smirking at me now. He gives me a little wave and bats his eyelashes making me want to punch him. I ignore him and turn to Michael, still feeling his gaze on me.
"So, private jets huh?" I ask.
This was going to be torture.
