THE NEXT MORNING  the Scaleless boy was here again.

You were watching him silently behind a bolder while your friend was atop another, silently creeping toward the boy. You had agreed that he would be approaching the brown-furred Scaleless this time. You felt that the two would be significant to each other shortly. After all, he was the boy that shot down the one of your kind.

You could kill him, but would that be you?

You tilted your head as you saw a delicious slimy fish in the hands of the boy but recoiled once the beast growled. The boy sputtered, reaching into his pockets and producing a small, short knife. Instincts fired up, but you kept them at bay. This was Night's, as you've come to call him, chance to prove what kind of dragon he is.

One that kills or one that spares the kind-hearted.

Night continuesgrowls wrongly as the boy tosses the knife away, and it falls into the cove's water, and he visibly calms. He glances your way fleetingly, and you meet his eyes smiling. You're not invisible now, but you are well hidden in the shadows of the bolder.

Night turns back at the Scaleless boy and creeps closer now that he is no threat. the boy offers the fish, and Night opens his mouth showing toothless gums, confusing the boy. "Huh. Toothless. I could've sworn you had..." the boy gets cut off when Night lets a set of razor-sharp teeth emerge from his gums and grabs the fish. He swallows it faster than you've seen a Lava Spitter eat rocks.

" ... teeth." you hear the boy mutter, and you snort but continue to watch silently. Again 'Toothless,' as this human calls him, crawls up against the Scaleless, titling his head here and there. The boy backs up like he did when you did the same maneuver yesterday. You start to creep out of your hiding place as well, smiling.

Once the boy reaches the boulder and knows he can no longer crawl away, 'Toothless* also stops. They stare at each other in silence for a few minutes before the Night Wing starts regaining a chunk of fish onto the boy's lap. You inwardly gag and look away, feeling the uneasy stench of regurgitated fish.

You soon look again and see that the boy has eaten a bite, much to your surprise. Your surprise grows even more when the boy reaches out, trying to touch Toothless. You grow tense, but you let the Night Wing decide what he wants to do in this situation. His answer is a short growl before he turns around and rushes over to you. You glance at the boy, then back at Toothless, and nod. he smiles and walks off, scorching up a patch of earth and lying down.

You glance back at the Scaleless boy and sigh before following toothless, as you will call him now. It's cute and fits him too. "so Toothless, huh?" you tease in a croon and lay down at a polite distance. Toothless glare at you but soon close his eyes and try to fall asleep. You then hear the footsteps of the Scaleless and see it close to the two of you. he glances your way, but you only flick your ear and curl up.

He is not worth your time.

You woke later to a beautiful sun; the cove was glittering as the Pink Sun ( Afternoon) filled it. Toothless soon stirred beside you, and you looked over at him meeting his gaze.

He purred and pushed to his paws before rubbing his head against yours. The act alone meant to love and affection, but you knew he cared for you. So you had no problem returning the action. "slept well?" he clicked, and you nodded "like it was meant to," you purred back before pushing to your talons and looking around the cove for the Scaleless. Strangely pleased about finding him sitting across the cove, you shook your head, jutting your snout toward him.

"go to him if you so, please. I will go on a flight. Don't worry; I will be back before Night," you promised and spread your wings, silently flying out of the cove and leaving Toothless and the Scaleless behind. You angled out over the tree tops feeling good about retaking a flight. Oh, how freeing this can be, you thought, letting the wind take you wherever it wanted.

You soon came to the ocean, passing over it silently and smiling as the Pink Sun let her rays caress the surface. All were so beautiful now, and you started to miss the home you had left behind all those years ago. The Hidden World is the acient home of all dragons. The place where your kind once flourished, but at the death of your parents, you chose to leave the safety of the corals and other dragons.

And that's how you winded up here sleeping in a distant cave, never to wake again. You had practically gone into hibernation, not eating, drinking, or seeing the light again. But that wer before you heard the call for help from Toothless and before any of this happened. Now you will not return at all. You had a friend to help and a species to save. Hopefully, you and Toothless will grow closer and become mates one day.

But now they weren't that important. So you would let love and life take their time.

After all, you had all the time in the world.

Soon you turned back, heading for the cove. Once you reached the island's shores, you heard the Scalelesses call Berk; you glanced over at the little-looking town seeing how burn marks were etched into the houses. Scalededs have been attacking here a few nights pass. ugh, probably for that overgrown queen that keeps stabilizing. Will she never learn? You thought as you flew the last miles to the cove and landed softly.

Toothless was alone. The Scaleless had left. He bounded up to you, rubbing his head against yours. "welcome back," he crooned, and you smiled. "so happy you seem," you purred back and walked with Toothless over to your usual resting spot. The black Scaled shrugged "well, Hiccup and I imprinted. I still don't know what I think about it, but I have started to trust him," he rambled on, and you stopped short.

"wait, did you say 'imprint'?" you asked, and Toothless stopped looking at you with a confused look "yeah, why?" he purred, and you sighed. "Toothless, you know what imprinting means, yes?" he nodded "good. now why would you imprint with a Scaleless?" you asked, your eyes narrowing.

This got Toothless to blush, and you frowned. "I told you... I trust him" he shuffled his paws before sighing and curling his tail around his front talons. "I don't know why okay? I do," you hummed, a smile coming over your features "don't worry, I'm not mad at you, just surprised, that's all." you said, and Toothless smiled.

"Now, let's take a night, alright? He still has to build you a tail" this made Toothless look at you confused, but you shook him off and scoured the ground and lay down. "Good night, Toothless," you murmured and let sleep consume you.
