Michael's POV

I was sitting in my office, looking at the bracelet Shayne got me for Christmas almost 6 years ago I can't believe it's been this long and Im still ridiculously in love with her I heard a knock on the door and I threw the bracelet back in the drawer

Michael: Come in

(The door opened and Julie walked in. She came over to my desk and stood in front of me, with her hands on her hips.)

Michael: What.?

Julie: Michael, I don't know why you keep doing this to yourself

Michael: There's no harm in it

Julie: Yeah, there is.! You send Shayne a birthday present every year and hope to hear back from her but you never do.! Then you end up depressed for days.!

Michael:(Spins around in the chair and looks at her) Can you just send the gift please.?

Julie:(Huffs) Fine

(She turned around and walked towards the door.)

Michael: Thanks Jules

(She waved her hand at me and walked out of the office. I laughed and sat back in the chair. I was about to pull the bracelet back out but the phone rang. I picked it up and put it to my ear.)

Michael: Hello.?

Janet: Michael.!

Michael:(Smiles) Hey Dunk.!

Janet: Michael, this is fair warning.! The family is on their way over there.!

Michael:(Smile drops) Are you serious.?! Like who.?!

Janet: Mother, Joseph, Tito, Randy, Marlon, the whole family.!!

Michael: Damn.! Are you coming too.?

Janet: Yeah We're about to leave but I wanted to warn you

Michael: Thanks Dunk.! Your a lifesaver.!

Janet: No problem, Applehead.! See you in a while.!

(We hung up and I sighed heavily. It's not that I don't love my family, they can just be a lot to handle. I walked into my room and freshened up.

I took off the sweats that I had on and put on a purple button down, black pants, and my loafers. I put on my Fedora and walked downstairs. Julie was sitting on the couch, reading a book.)

Michael: Jules, my family is coming over today

Julie: Really.?! (I nodded) I'll let the staff know.!

(She jumped up and ran out of the house. I sighed and sat down at the kitchen counter. The cook, George, walked up to me.)

George: Hey Michael You want anything.?

Michael: Can I get some French toast please.?

George: Yes sir

(He was about to walk away but I stopped him)

Michael: My family is gonna be visiting today so can you just prepare something light.?

George: Sure thing

Michael: Thank you

(He nodded and disappeared into the kitchen. I sighed and started to look at a magazine that was on the table. 10 minutes later, I heard a knock on the door. I got up and walked to the door.

I opened the door and I saw my mother, Joseph, Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon, Tito, Randy, and Janet.)

Michael: Hi you guys

(They all said hello to me and walked in the house. Janet was the last one to walk in and I closed the door. I grabbed her hand and we walked slowly behind the family.)

Michael: Thanks for the warning, Jan

Janet: No problem You know I got your back

(I smiled and hugged her. We walked into the living room and my family was making themselves at home.)

Michael: So, what do I owe this lovely visit.?

Jackie: We just wanted to come see you

Marlon: Yeah we haven't heard from you in a while

Michael: Well, I'm fine Just been touring

(We talked for a while until my brothers and Joseph excused themselves out to the amusement park. I took my mother and Janet into the kitchen and George brought out some pudding.)

Katherine: So, how have you been, Michael.?

Michael: I'm fine Mother

Janet: Yeah except he's depressed because Shayne won't write him back

(I snapped my head in her direction and glared at her)

Janet:(Shrugs) What, it's true.!

Katherine: Janet, don't tease your brother Michael, she'll talk to you when she's ready

Michael: When will that be, Mother.? I've been sending her stuff and trying to talk to her for almost 6 years now (Sighs) I'm starting to think maybe I should just give up

Katherine: Michael, (She grabbed my chin and made me look at her) You never, ever give up on true love I know you love her, I can see it in your eyes

Janet: You know, the moment when you wanna give up is when your closet to the breakthrough Don't give up hope Mikey She'll come around

Michael: Y'all think so.?

Katherine: We know so sweetheart

(I smiled and held back my tears. See, this is why I love my mother and Janet so much.! They understand me so well and give me the best advice. We talked for a couple more hours until everyone went home. Turns out my family coming to visit wasn't so bad after all.)
