Aira wondered when he got so careless. First it was his files... and now...

"So Shiratori-kun, do you want to explain what's the meaning of lyric pranks?" Eichi asked sweetly to Aira who was trying his very best not to squirm.

"Or why it involved me, Tenshouin-kun and Hasumi-kun in 'the messiest love triangle in idol history to date'?" Rei asked, and Aira was trying very hard to meet his roommates' eyes without flinching.

Aira did not even mean this to happen. He thought he would be alone. He thought there was no way his roommates would come back early as Aira while checking his SNS got a message from one of his fellow idol fan online friends who had a love for animatics and lyric pranks.

The last time that Aira chatted with this particular friend, they sent him a 'Gay Or European' animatic link featuring Hiyori Tomoe and Jun Sazanami to 'celebrate their coming out/j' thanks to Eve's Trap For You. Like any Eden-core idol fan, of course Aira bought tickets as fast as he could for the live and... he was blown away, for sure. It had to be bestselling of all time, no doubt with so many people simply shrill screaming their hearts out and Aira himself couldn't stop the blush coming from his face just from the very beginning. Like seriously... it was just so... so...

So, the animatic... Gay Or European ever popular in any and all fandoms where J-pop is not exception gave Aira mixed feelings because as a fan, it could be counted as a kind of milestone when that ever famous/infamous animatic is used but at the same time, he knew both Hiyori who he is Circle members with and Jun who he had spent time together sometimes just like when they went fishing together after the survival game to get Jun into his hyena role.

In any case, Aira gave neutral replies and thought it was the last time he would have spoken with them. He was wrong. The next one was a link of a video titled, 'Keireichi - Messiest love triangle in idol history to date', one text below that said lyric prank and asked Aira to watch it for his opinion.

The video was not going to be posted publicly because his online friend was pretty sure that copyright would sue them if they did. Animatics were one thing, but lyric pranks were for some reason iffy. As far as they know, they never saw lyric pranks of J-pop idols being uploaded, not for the lack of trying in searching so there must be some unspoken line that does not allow uploaded lyric pranks for real life people, at least made from fans. In any case, they wanted to make one lyric prank because of their love for it and their dynamic headcanons concerning Eichi, Rei and Keito since during the era of Eccentrics which had been shrouded in fog for the general public.

All everyone knew from many threads and speculations were that fine and AKATSUKI were units close to each other, especially their leaders a year ago. In comparison, fine and UNDEAD had unresolved tension, as evidenced by their battle in DDD, with shaky videos of it which include both fine and UNDEAD leaders, who were now Aira's roommates, walking up to each other and... having a moment, for the lack of better words. They had also been on opposite sides considering the fine VS Eccentric era with negative comments leaking out on SNS. Aira did not pay much attention to them because he loved idols and could not stand any kind of slander.

As for the relationship between Keito and Rei, there were many people who attended the DEADMANZ live in the Live House two years ago which had blown up in SNS for how explosive and rock-and- roll it was. It blew Aira's SNS feed at the time because it involved Yumenosaki idols, which Aira had followed because in his aspiration to become an idol, he wanted to know which school he should choose and had been researching. It was only after that one Live before DEADMANZ broken up and Keito with his new unit started siding fine with Eichi, so more hardcore theorist fans began to wonder...

Back to lyric pranks, which his online friend was an expert of all over fandoms that are not just J-pop, all the speculation of the 'Keireichi' dynamic had driven said friend crazy so they decided to perfectly express it with the song 'Choose Me' and turned it into a lyric prank depicting other idols. He had sent it over to multiple online friends to share the joy.

Aira had watched it, and couldn't help laughing and cringing because sometimes the way idols were portrayed did not match up with what Aira knew so... unfortunately, at that point, in the middle of the lyric prank which was completely done with the song playing along, Aira had reacted so much he didn't notice his roommates coming back.

"Huh, Shiratori-kun, what's so funny?" Eichi had asked, which Aira could hear despite the music blaring in his earphones and he looked up from his phone to see Eichi close to him staring at his him in polite interest. Aira jumped, accidentally dropping his phone which was caught by Eichi quickly before it could fall to the ground.

"Woah there... here you go Shira- oh?" Eichi asked, mesmerized by whatever was on the screen that he momentarily forgotten to hand the phone back to Aira, "What is this about me, Sakuma-kun and Keito? And lyric prank? What does that mean?"

"Oi oi, Tenshouin-kun, it's not good to invade your kouhai's privacy like that," Rei, who apparently also came back early, said as he neared the blonde duo, snatched the phone away from Eichi and promptly handed it to Aira before the latter could even answer Eichi's questions.

Aira looked at the screen of his phone, not only to see that his the video was minimized to a smaller screen where the text bubbles with Keito, Rei and Eichi's avatar was still visible, the text conversation between him and his friend could be seen, which Eichi undoubtedly read accidentally and got curious over. This curiosity hurts. At least Rei didn't-

"But unfortunately my curiosity is piqued," Rei said, smiling slightly as he continued, "Sorry, Shiratori-kun but the text seemed to sear itself into my eyes."

... Dang it. Which was why he was in this situation now. Someone end his misery but at this point he decided he could do nothing except confess.

"A lyric prank is when someone sends song lyrics in text as a prank. And... well, why it would involve you and Hasumi-senpai... umm, an online friend of mine had been interested in your dynamic, so much that they decided to make a lyric prank along with the song just for fun. Lyric pranks like that have been trending over multiple fandoms, but ah... this video is not posted anywhere. They just showed it to a few of their friends, including me. Most lyric pranks you see in SNS are ones people play with their friends, some people love to post lyric pranks of fictional characters that they are fans of but there's all it is to it," Aira explained.

"Shiratori-kun," Eichi said, his eyes sparkling, "Can you please send the link of that video to me? Maybe if I watch it I would understand more about these 'lyric pranks'."

"Me too. I'm actually quite curious of how fans have interpreted us and portray us in this lyric prank," Rei said.

"Wait... I... I can't?! I mean my friend sent it to me and I'm not sure they would want me to send that link to anyone else??? And imagine if they knew I was sending the link to the Eichi Tenshouin and the Rei Sakuma. It's just..." Aira said, not sure exactly how to feel if Eichi and Rei did watch the lyric prank, especially when it starred both his roommates and their friend, Keito Hasumi.

"Aww... at least let's watch it together. Can you connect your phone to the TV while we watch it from the start?" Eichi asked.

"Yes... please, let's do that. Come on, Shiratori-kun. Don't be shy~" Rei said.

Aira was wondering whether he should politely reject or give up and give in. After all, the video was from his online friend, and even if he didn't send the link, he wasn't entirely sure-

His phone pinged and checking it while ignoring the stares of his anticipating roommates, Aira checked that it was the same friend who sent the video and asked for his opinion. Weighing his option, he texted:

Ah, while I was halfway watching it, my roommates interrupted me and were interested that I was watching this lyric prank. Now they also want 2 watch it n kept asking me. Can I show it 2 them? Is that OK with u?

Thank God for online anonymity so he was sure his friend wouldn't pry too much. Even if they did, it was not like Aira could answer much and they definitely wouldn't believe that their mutual friend over J-pop idol interest turns out to be an idol himself and rooming with two top idols their video is based on. In any case, another ping sounded out from his phone as he read the incoming text:

Really >< More EnjoyerS? Well, if they r interested n want 2 watch the vid, then go ahead~ Just make sure to get their opinions and if they are up to it, can you send their profiles so I can friend them? Need more watchers on my ES animatics, and want more opinions XD

Aira was sure that his friend's mind would be blown if he ever realized... and mostly for the sake of sanity, decided to disregard this message. If it were Aira in that position as a fan, he would probably die of embarrassment, some level of cringe and self-doubt that comes with the fact of top idols looking at your fanmade content. Aira experienced it enough to know to spare his mutual from that much. Aira texted back:

Well, let's c. I'll go ahead n watch the vid. Will make sure to get the opinions XD

Afterwards, Aira looked up to Eichi and Rei who were looking in curiosity and anticipation as Aira smiled back and said, "Sure let's watch it although my friend wants to know your opinions about it later on."

"Fufufu, I wonder how they would feel knowing it's the idols they are using in this lyric prank that's commenting on their work," Rei laughed to himself.

"Ah, they don't know that, though," Aira laughed a little wryly as he connected his phone to the TV and managed to upload the video to the big screen.

"Ready whenever you are," Aira said, as with Eichi and Rei's respective nods, Aira started playing the lyric prank. Styled in the same way as several lyric pranks Aira had watched from being involved in games and fandoms simply because they reminded him of his idols, the text messages were laid out in nicknames and voice over along with funny reactions in between the lyrics.

Since this song is styled as a love triangle between Eichi, Rei and Keito, there were various reactions between unit mates, roommates, friends and 'rivals' alike. They are either something Aira can see happening or something he could never believe. His roommates have reacted similarly to how Aira would take it... minus the cringe.

Eichi and Rei had laughed all the way, commenting about reactions they can see happening and ones they cannot.

"I can see my cute Tori, Oogami-kun and Kanzaki-kun having a heart attack but not Hokuto-kun reacting as badly as that," Eichi said.

"Wataru would certainly demand answers like that but there's no way Shu would react like a drama queen in such a way..." Rei mused.

"It would really be funny if we actually acted out this love triangle and see how the others would react. Actually..." Eichi said, hand in thought and grin widening on his face.

As if catching it, Rei wore the same grin. It surprised Aira who was and wasn't sure what his senpai were thinking at the moment or maybe it was because he didn't want to believe what could potentially happen. What should be frankly impossible...

He wished he knew... until a day when he decided to open up his phone and well... entered into chaos.

Emperor: Yeah, thanks for that. With permission from you all, any time we have these lyric pranks, we will send the screenshots so it could be edited but save from any private information, we will keep it as it is so that many of our fans can have a glimpse of sides that we generally don't show.

Ibanyan: This is something that shouldn't have been sprung out of the blue, Your Eminence.

Emperor: But it wouldn't be much of a lyric prank if it wasn't a surprise. And this would be a great beginning for the series.

Emperor: Good question. The whole thing stands for Lyric Prank Dealer. It's one thing for idols to just play lyric pranks all day any day but for immersion and to stop spamming the chat with lyric pranks, a few mechs would have to be implemented.

"Tenshouin-senpai, what is the meaning of this?!" Aira asked, his shock too great to even bother being nervous or polite to his senpai. He had already read the email and he was in utter shock about the mechanics that Eichi wanted to implement for this idol series.

He was already surprised just from that trio actually going through a lyric prank that Aira already knew because the timing was no coincidence but managed to play it off as surprise of someone not in the know.

However, after the email...

"What do you mean I'm the Dealer and that this will be played like Among Us?" Aira asked, probably not making sense out of context and a little confusing in context but he didn't know how to word it in any other way.

Eichi did not... he did... why him...?

"Are you worried that you will be outed as the imposter Dealer immediately?" Eichi teased, "You don't have to worry about it. It's all for fun and games just so that no one is able to spam any lyric pranks and it's something fans can engage in while giving idols their run for their money. There are no real stakes in it."

The email went like this. A Dealer had been assigned, the person who had kickstarted any lyric prank who suggested the song for others to go through and play the LPD. After the lyric prank, to assure no spams, the moment that the video was uploaded, all idols have been given a week to fortnight to figure out who the Dealer is among them to find them out and become the Dealer in turn who would personally orchestrate another lyric prank after this, within the time limit of a week and fortnight. It was stated that the Dealer could participate in the lyric prank or not, meaning that even if the person did not participate in the lyric prank, it meant that anyone in ES could be the Dealer.

If the Dealer is not found, they have the right to pass the role to another person who will take the responsibility for another lyric prank of their own choosing. This has to be done before the fortnight since the video had been uploaded ended, so there would be enough time to craft and pull off the prank. It combines as a fun little game for idols and fans around, so that fans could comment who they think the Dealer is while idols could use the information along with their own to expose the Dealer.

It was all through trial run so there were somethings that felt iffy but otherwise solid. There were hopes that the lyric prank videos will be successfully made and according to Eichi, all the idols have agreed to try out the venture, if only because they all wanted to pay back the Keireichi trio for causing heart attacks or give it a shot and check out the reactions. 

Aira still can't wrap his head around this happening.

Eichi's calm looks did not dispel Aira's shock in the least, and instead increased it tenfold.

"Isn't that befitting?" Eichi asked innocently like his image of an angel, "After all, you are the one who started all of this so I am sure you can keep this going for all of us. I'm also sure that no one would ever suspect the Dealer to be you."

Won't they? At this point, everyone knows that Aira was an ascended idol otaku and dishing out lyric pranks might not be out of possibilities about Aira from the other idol's minds. Anyone can figure that out and expose him, like Tomoya who was also an idol otaku and might have an inkling.

He wanted to keep arguing against this but one look at Eichi and Rei made Aira knew that his words won't reach them. He sighed and changed the topic, knowing that he could rage and be a little scared about this if he wanted but to be perfectly honest, he was also excited about it. So turning a blind eye wouldn't do him any harm.

"How about Hasumi-senpai? How did you get him to join this lyric prank? He said something about blackmail..." Aira asked, a curious fact because he can't imagine that down-to-earth senpai doing something as nonsensical as that.

"Hasumi-kun always had the tendency to exaggerate," Rei said calmly, "We just persuaded him about how this would be beneficial for our idol careers."

"He may not have said yes right away but he gave in eventually on the account of us being childhood friends. So it's definitely persuasion and not blackmail," Eichi added.

Neither Eichi nor Rei specified what they actually did to Keito and knowing he would never get the answer out of his senpai whey they were like that, Aira wisely shut his mouth. As much as Aira wanted the idol deets, Eichi and Rei can be surprisingly tight lipped that Aira would never dare pry.

In any case, ever since that conversation, it had been a few days since the lyric prank video had been unleashed and largely unedited until a little after the #LPD with the rules about how this new series worked. Although there would always be controversies from haters and naysayers, most people were supportive and excited about this newfound project. Aira had scrolled through the comments, who had been laughing off the lyric pranks and taking a lot of it as a joke. People have engaged about who the Dealer is, and on social media, people had @ him, his old idol account that remained his anonymity without people ever knowing it was an Aira Shiratori account about his own theories for who the Dealer was that kickstarted the lyric pranks.

Of course Aira could never answer them when he is the Dealer himself but he knew it was only a matter of time someone figured him out. He gave it three days max.

Seriously, once again, what did Aira unleashed?
