Lucy was excited about the basketball game. This is the first game she will attend since she enrolled here. She never bothered to come for the other games since she would have just been alone and bored.

When she first started having a crush on Natsu, she really wanted to come see him play. That was another reason she was excited to come today. She could finally see Natsu, one of the main players of Fairy Tail play.

"You seem ecstatic." Erza said as they walked to the school grounds.

"I am! I never got to go to a school event, especially with my friends!" She said brightly before her cheek pinked. "And I get to see Natsu play today!"

Erza chuckled at the flustered girl. "You two are adorable, you know?"

They went to the seats, Erza teasing Lucy along the way and Lucy stammering and pouting at Erza. Lucy was so flustered that she didn't even notice when they went straight to the front rows, right next to the cheer group.

"Um... Er-Erza? Are we al-allowed to sit this close?"

"Perks of being the school president. Besides, Levy wanted you to have the best seat for the game."

The game hasn't started yet but the cheerleaders for both team where already getting ready. Levy was there giving a pep talk to her team.

"... Laki, make sure to land that split. Nab, you drop us and we'll drop you from the school roof. Juvia, don't just cheer for Gray. I want all of you to give your best. And Sherry, do not cheer for Lyon!"

"But why not?"

"BECAUSE HE'S IN THE OTHER TEAM!"

"Hey, Levy."

Lucy watched as Levy's face went from pissed off to happy in a minute. "Erza! Lucy! You're both here!"

Lucy smiled at the girl's excitement before looking at the rest of the team. Everyone was smiling and laughing among themselves except for one pink-haired girl.

"So this is Natsu's new girl? Doesn't seem like much." She said in a haughty tone, her face looming smug.

Levy must not like her very much because she suddenly seemed angry. "Yeah, well, at least she got her crush to fall for her. When was the last time Lyon even noticed you?"

The girl's face went red before she walked away to check on her pom-poms. Levy signed before turning back to the two girls.

"Come on, I'll introduce you to the rest of the team. The pink haired is Sherry, by the way." she took Lucy's hand and lead her to the girls and guys wearing the same red and black cheer leader outfit as her.

"This is Laki and Kinana, they're the wonder twins. And this is Cana, don't drink anything she gives you. You obviously know Juvia. This is Mickey and Chico, they like to stay in the background. And these are our muscles, Max, Nab and Warren. And they better not drop us this time!" Levy said the last part to the two boys who looked embarrassed.

"It's a new routine, Levy! You can't expect us to just be perfect at it!"

"I will since we've been practicing for a MONTH!"

"Hey, Levy? We'll just go sit at the bleachers, alright?" Erza said before Levy went full spartan on the cheer group.

They went to their seats, where a dark-haired girl was sitting. Lucy hasn't seen this girl before in school and was wondering if she should sit away from her when Erza went up to her.

"Hello, Ultear." She said, and the girl smiled at her.

"Hey, Erza. Are you going to introduce your friend?"

Lucy stood awkwardly as the two had some sort of staring contest. The girl, Ultear, was smiling pleasantly while Erza... Lucy wasn't sure if she should call her cold or distant. The contest stopped when they heard a young voice call out.

"Lucy-nee!" Lucy turned around just as something came slamming into her. She looked down to see Natsu's little sister, Wendy, hugging her by the waist. Staying at the Dragneel residence sometimes has made her and Lucy a little more close than before.

"So, her name's Lucy?" Ultear asked Erza with a raised brow, but it was Wendy who answered.

"Hey, Ultear! This is Lucy, Natsu-nii's girlfriend. Lucy, this is Jellal's fiancee, Ultear."

"F-fiancee?! But I thought- I" Lucy looked towards Erza who sat down on her seat, clearly not realizing how surprising this news was to the blonde. Lucy had always thought her friends were in some relationship, but not only was she wrong, but Jellal already had someone else.

'That's what you get for shipping real life people.'

"You don't have to look so surprised. It's normal in business. Especially since our parents are so close. Just look at Gray and Juvia."

She was not expecting that. "G-Gray and Juvia are engaged! B-b-but he's always avoiding her or t-trying to run away from her! Why would he want to be engaged to her then?"

"Well, it's not like we have much choice." Ultear said with a shrug. "Sometimes it's decided even before our birth. Unless we fall in love with some else or something, we just have to deal with it."

Ultear sneaked a glance at Erza as she said this, but Erza seem determined to ignore the conversation. Lucy awkwardly sat down on her chair with Wendy, not knowing how to continue. Just then the announcers announced Team Lamia Scale. Lucy watched as the team came out to the court, along with their mascot, who was-

"I-is that a snake?"

"Lamia, actually. It's a mythical creature that eats kids." Erza said nonchalantly, checking out the intricate designs on the mascot. "They really went all out, huh?"

That's one way to look at it. Instead of a mascot, it was a full-on cosplay with realistic looking scales and a face full of make up.

"And you guys haven't?" Ultear asked, pointing to where Fairy high's team was coming. "That wings alone must have cost you guys a lot."

Lucy looked to their team to see a brunette girl decked out completely in golden colour fairy cosplay. Everything about her was shining. Lucy watched in awe as she did a flip in her costume with no effort.

"Evergreen always likes to go all out with her costume, so it always comes from her own pocket."

"Makes sense." Ultear said while Lucy's mind of completely blow.

'What kind of rich people bullshit is this?! They couldn't just have a normal mascot?'

Lucy imagined a giant waddling fairy mascot and can't help but grimace. It would look totally ridiculous. Maybe this was better? 'They could have gone without all that gold, though. I would go with something a little more subtle.'

"Well, you are more than welcome to." She heard from beside her and she looked to see Erza looking at her. "At least I can count on you to not go over budget. Unless some others." She said looking at the mascot showing off her costume to everyone smugly.

Lucy suddenly realized that she was thinking out loud and her eyes widened. She was just about to tell what a bad idea it was when Wendy excitedly starts jumping in her seat.

"That will be sooo cool! You'll look so cute as a fairy, Lucy-nee! You should definitely try it!"

"There will be a vacancy soon. Evergreen is going to graduate this year." Erza encouraged seeing a weakness in Lucy's shell.

Not wanting to deny Wendy, she agreed. Besides, it's not like she'll actually get the spot.

Natsu huffed as they called for a break. Usually he wouldn't play this hard against Lamia Scale. Not that he would slack off or anything, but Gray always has a rivalry against Lyon, so he tries to stay away from it, even during a game. Especially since it somehow always ends up about Juvia.

'Seriously, if he doesn't like her, then Gray should just let Lyon date her.'

He would have let Gray take the whole show if Lucy wasn't here. It's her first time coming to a game, and he wanted to show off a bit. He took a sip from his bottle when he heard the announcers.

"And it looks like Dragneel got himself a little cheergirl of his own!" He turned, expecting to see some girl with pom-poms with his name or something, only to see Lucy standing on top of Max and Warren.

"What the! Lucy!"

Lucy looked straight at him and gave a nervous smile. Standing under her was Wendy, Erza and the other cheerleaders, Wendy cheering loudly for Lucy.

"Go Lucy-nee! You can do it!"

Lucy's smile became less strained, and she even raised her hand to wave. But her wave caused her to lose her balance. He started running as she fell, only to let out a sigh when Nab caught her before she hit the ground. He reached the group to hear her laughter.

"That was so- so- so exhilarating! I've never felt anything like that!" She said, her eyes shining.

"Well, glad to know! Because you might have to do a lot more than just that." Evergreen said, her eyes showing amusement.

Lucy still looked excited until she saw Natsu looking at her. Her smile turned nervous again, and she shyly waved her hand. "H-hi?"

He smirked at her voice. She looked like a kid with her hand in the cookie jar. "Hey there, daredevil. Wanna tell me what that was?"

She looked away, avoiding his eyes, but his sister had no problem informing him. "Lucy's going to be the next fairy!"

"You can't just decide that on your own. There are others much more talented who want to be the fairy." Sherry said suddenly, her arms crossed in defense.

"You're right. I get to decide who's my successor." Evergreen said, and Natsu couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at her. 'Successor?' "And I think blondie here can make it. That is if she wants to."

Lucy looked at him as if asking permission, but he just shrugged. It was her decision, and all he could (and should) do is support her and maybe keep her safe. As long and she was safe, he didn't even care if she went bungee jumping or shaved her head.

"C-can I think about it?" Evergreen agreed and looked like everyone except Sherry was happy. Natsu smiled before he was called back to the game. He definitely has to win now. He's got his own cheergirl to win for.

I have one more week of training ends and I haven't been terminated yet. Pray for me guys 🙏🏻. Till next time! Bye!
