Rose

It's been 24 hours since I came back home and not even for one whole minute Ashton has stopped questioning me.

"Rose you know I will not stop questioning unless you tell me who the hell dared to take you!!"

"I was not kidnapped Ash ,how many times do I tell you I went on a vacation to the hills..."

"Who are you defending Rose...you never kept anything from me before.."

Saddnes filled his eyes as he stared at me and I avoided looking at him

"Ash please I am tired of you keeping tabs on me every minute.... that's why I left for a while ..I was tired of it okay..."

"You think you can fool me with your lies Rose Thorne .. don't forget I was the one who taught you to lie when you were 4!"

I can't fool him..it is impossible
But I can't tell him as well
If he knows there will be a war next minute.
He will attack Daniel's gang

"Ash please don't go there...see I am perfectly fine ...no harm came to me you can relax.."

I engulfed him in a hug
First he was reluctant but as  I refused to let go he relaxed and reciprocated by pulling his arms around me.

"Don't do this ever again..you hear me"

I nodded with a smile and saluted him

"Aye Aye captain"
He smiled and raffled my hair .

"Now get ready I will drop you to your college"

I nodded and picked up my bag and specs.

While driving he looked distracted and zoned off while I was talking to him.

"Ash what's going on? Why are you so tensed?"

"Huh...no I am not...I was just thinking something..."

"Ash"
I gave him that look and he surrendered in defence

"Okay...okay..it is just your Da-...I mean Ronn Torne is back in business...black Rose is starting again and it is to be headquartered here in this town...please be extra careful...okay?"

I just nodded showing Ash my indifference to his name.
If I was nothing for him why should I be concerned.

He dropped me off to my college to get on his flight to California.

As I entered people kept staring at me.
They thought I wasn't going to return I guess.

As I got seated in the corner of the class people around started whispering.

"I thought she changed college..."

"What is she doing here..."

"He must know...."

The last comment made me stop whatever I was doing
Who must know
Was anyone searching for me?

My question was answered when I saw Jake standing near the door surrounded by his friends.
His eyes stopped on me and the creases on his forehead relaxed

He was breathing heavily like he ran a mile to reach here.

I lowered my gaze trying to show indifference but he didn't wanted that.

Within seconds he was next to me and before I know he engulfed me in his arms.

His cologne entered my receptors and I stood frozen unable to react.

His one hand was placed  behind my head and the other pulled my tiny waist towards him.

People were staring now but  he didn't cared.
He kept me close till his heart was content.

'Jake.."
His name escaped my lips as I was not sure if he was fine.

He pulled back and stared into my eyes with worry

"Where the hell were you Rosaline...you can't just disappear for a month and come back like nothing happened!!"

Everyone stared at me waiting for my response.

"I was out of town Jake...there is no need to freak out."

He shaked his head and a mocking smile formed on his lips...he looked around and suddenly slammed his fist on the table making the entire class go still

"I should not freaking out...why the hell I should not when you left after the words I spoke to you that day!! I was crazy worried and you say I should not freaking out..."

"Jake it's not because of that...you are over reacting"
I said looking around me trying to give him a message to not create a scene here.

But he was blinded by his anger.

"If caring for your safety is over reacting ...then I don't think you will ever understand what loving someone means...you are such a ungrateful bi*** I doubt why I even cared for you.."

He turned around and left while everyone stared at me.
His words pinched me when they should not.

Stacey's snickering laughter filled the room as she hi fived her minions.

"Thank god Jake realised what a bit** she is...he should be with me and not care for a loser like her...I bet we both will be the couple of the year."

I ignored her remarks
But Jake's concern for me was making me worried.
He should not care why is he like this.

The day ended and I was making my way out of the building when I saw Jake standing alone under a tree lost in his thoughts.

I made my way towards him ..he was too lost to take my notice.

Only when I called his name and stood right in front of him did he looked up at me.

He decided to ignore me and leave when I blocked his way.

"I am sorry"
I said and he looked shocked.

"Jake I know I should have informed you before leaving...it was wrong on my par-"
He placed his hand on my lips muffling my words as his eyes were trailed on something behind me.

"Shit!! We need to run!!"
I looked around to see three men coming our way
They looked like hulks with ripping muscles
Pistols were tucked inside there jeans waist and  one of them moved his hand to take out the pistol.

Next I know Jake pulled me along with him running towards the back side of the school.
We ran like crazy jumping over logs , dodging the people all along and keeping our heads low trying to miss the bullets.

Who were they?
Why did they wanted to kill me?
I am sure as they are running after us Ash's men must be running after them.

But they can't know who I am then why are they trying to kill me.
My thoughts were interrupted when I heard Jake hiss in pain as a bullet slided pass his arm.

Worry crossed me.
I can't let him get hurt because of me.

He pulled us into an alley and held me close to him trying to protect me.

We could hear footsteps in the background and we held our breath trying to make ourselves invisible.

He has placed my head on his chest to keep me safe while I could hear his heartbeat and see how scared he actually was.

Little did he know that nothing could happen to him till I was here with him.

I am sure my bodyguards would have taken care of them.

His arm was bleeding profousely and he needed immediate attention.

"Jack you need to go to..to the doctor..."

"No Rosaline..I..will be fine...I can't go to a hospital... there police will get involved....I just need to reach my place."

"Here take my phone and call the contact saved Bro...tell him what happened and he will come save me"

"You go Rosaline..I will manage...you need to go away from me if you need to be safe...they are after me not you"

His words made me look up at him...after him...why will they be after him?

My question was answered when I saw  those 3 men come our way with a sinister smile on their lips

"Oh so here is Mr Kingston hiding..I never considered Kingston's to be a coward..."

Jake stepped in front of me hiding me from the sight of the man.

"Just leave us alone we have not done anything to you.."

"You haven't but your brother has,you will pay with your life for his debts."

My eyes fell on the two shadows hiding behind the dumpster on either side of the alley.
I looked closer to see that they were my bodyguards waiting for my command to kill this man.

They can't shoot now
Jake can doubt them.
I signaled them not to.

"See kid I don't think you know much about our business but let me enlighten you...we don't include family till someone messes with ours and your brother badly messed with mine."

"So you either come willingly with us or we could take a lien like maybe the brunette hiding behind you."

"You lay a hand on her and you are dead.."

They started laughing

"Oh I see liitle Kingston has learned to give threats..if only they could scare us"

Next a bullet shot was heard and Jake fell down holding onto his arm which now had a bullet inside it.

"Jake ..Jake...are you fine...."

He couldn't reply
His eyes were closing down with the loss of blood as I placed his head on my lap

"R...u..n......Ru..n Rose..."
Were the only words that managed to escape his lips.

The 3 men started coming towards me smiling and joking like they won a lottery.
But little did they knew that their death was behind them

My men came out from the shadows behind them with pistols aiming at their heads.

With a single nod from my side three gun shots were heard and the bodies fell down on the ground.

"Ma'am are you fine .?"

They asked and I nodded

"Dispose theses bodies and help me take him to a doctor"
They nodded and helped me put Jake in one of our cars with tainted doors

"See to it that police doesn't gets involved"

"Yes ma'am"

We reached our private place and the doctor immediately started taking care of Jake's wound.

As I waited outside the room Jack's phone was in my hands all red from the blood on my hands.

It's been so long since I saw so much blood .

The phone in my hand started ringing and I saw "bro"calling
I was scared to answer but he kept calling.

The men were after his brother.
I wonder what he did that made them go after Jake.
Maybe took a debt and failed to pay back.

I decided to answer it.
The call was answered on 4 th Ring

"Jake why waren't you picking up your phone dammit ...where are you!?"

The voice that I heard on the other side was as cold as ice.
It held power and darkness and somehow I felt it to be familiar.

"Hello?"

"Jake ?"

"Hi...I ...I...am .. Jake's friend ....he is sleeping right now....he-"

"I don't give a fuck just hand him his phone !!"

"Sir...he...is..."

"See girl I am not in the mood to listen shit..you either hand him the phone or give me your address.."

"I can't...sorry....he will call..you soon...."

"Hey you don't you dare hang on me...I am worried sick right now!!"

"He..is fine..you can trust me"

With this I hanged the call and switched off his phone

I just hope he doesn't tracks the call and reaches here
Hopefully Jake will wake wake up soon and call him
