Boys - Charlie XCX

Today, it's Monday. Time really flies. I came here on Friday and made friends in no time. I really like the new me.

We are total five in our group. Jenny is a big mouth, Alexis is punctual, Hayden on the other hand is her opposite, Diana likes to tease and makes jokes. Whereas I, well, I am a Nerd.

I have got class today at 9:30 a.m with Alexis. We both chose same courses for the semester.

I get ready into a pair of jeans, grey hoodie and my hair into a side braid. After that, as usual, put on my glasses. I am a total blind without them. I'm myopic, unfortunately.

I and Alexis head to the cafeteria, have our breakfast and go to attend our classes.

After class, we were going out of the halls when Jenny came running from opposite direction towards us. More like jumping.

"G..guys yo..you know what..what ha...happened today?", Jenny said while panting and having huge smile on her face.

"If you'd tell us and first you breathe", I tell her, "or you'll die out off breathe any minute now."

"I'm dead already."

"What!?", I and Alexis said in unison.

"Yeah, he's like Greek God", she said dreamily, seeming to imagine his face.

"Who? You can't have him for your eyes only", Alexis said, her eyes filled with excitement.

I left such behavior a long time ago. Well not 'a long time', but a while ago.

"I don't know his name", Jenny said looking upset.

"But what did he do to make you dead?", I questioned her. Nobody can be that good looking.

"His wink", she said in a flattered tone. "My pencil fell on the floor during class. When I was picking it up a slip piece of paper was already lying there. So I picked it and asked him about it as he was sitting at my next bench. He took the paper from me, wrote something in it and handed me back. He said that I now I can keep it. And guess what was written in it!" she said, finishing her story.

"His number?", Alexis answered.

Jenny nodded to this.

"No way. OH MY GOD. OH MY FREAKING GOD!"

He is a total player. I hate those guys.

"What are you going to do with his number?", might as well ask them.

"Obviously we will call him", Alexis said in a 'duh' tone. "Stop acting like a nerd."

"If you can't see then, maybe I AM a nerd", I quoted the statement with my fingers.

"You'll not be anymore, as long as you're with us." Jenny claimed holding my hands.

They don't know anything about me.

"I'm sorry but, don't you think we should go to out dorms now?" I try to change the topic and sliding my hands out of hers.

"Yah, yah. Somebody here doesn't want to talk about guys", Alexis says, teasing and rolling her eyes.

Then suddenly a voice ters tears off by soft earbuds.

"What! Are you a lesbian?" Jenny says looking at me in shock and before I can say anything, she continues. "It's okay, you can share your problems with us. By the way, there are many hot girls here. You will be with one of them in no time. You are naturally beautiful. It's our new mission then. Right, Alexis?" she ends.

How could she say such a speech and then not even beg for air?

"Woah-woah-woah. Don't jump on conclusions" I say, stopping her to think anymore wrong. "I'm not a lesbian. I'm a straight girl. I don't want to talk about boys because--" I stop in mid-sentence and looking at my feet.

"Because?" Alexis asks, trying to match my dropped gaze.

Suddenly, I stare at her and let out the sentences from my mouth with a hint of anger and frustration. "-because they are useless, they don't care about you. They just want one thing from you. I know how it feels. They act like they love you and then...slam...they leave you alone at the end?" I blurted.

Tears started to form in my eyes. As one tear found its way down my cheeks, I wipe it and then continue, "And the one which you are talking about seems to be a total jerk and player."

They both look at me with astonishment and concern eyes.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have forced you to tell at the first place. See, I made you cry." Alexis says with guiltful eyes.

Oh my...I cried in front of them. Well didn't I tell I'm not good in holding ly emotions? Obviously, no. Who am I kidding.

"Do you want to talk about it?" it was Jenny.

"I don't think so. Not for the time being" I tell them while snorting.

"Okay, but if you want, we are here for you", Alexis says with her one hand resting on my shoulder to comfort me."

I nod to that to reassure them.

"Now let's go."

"But Bernice, it's not like we'll fall in love with them. We are just checking out their face and body", Jenny says in order to convince me. "I mean-- c'mon, life of a girl is worth nothing if you havn't ogled at boys." I laughed to that.

"I can support you on that statement", I say smiling to her.

I have done even worse than that. Something they can't image of me being, I think to myself.

We start walking towards Wing C. Suddendly Jenny holds my upper arm and starts shaking me. When I'm shook from head to feet with a jerk, I glance at her. Her jaw is dropped and looking at something in front of us. I follow her gaze, just to find a boy who is um...*clears throat*...well..a good looking one.

He has dark hair and a very well built body with broad chest and shoulders. From far, as I can make out, he has blue eyes and kissable lips on his perfect face.

I'm seeing him for the first time but he looks somewhat familiar.

"It's him", Jenny shout whispers, "..the boy I told you 'bout."

"Oh..My..Fucking..God. He us fucking smokin' sexy. He is so fuckable. I--", Alexis speaks while using profanities in each sentence until she is cut off by me.

"For Christ's sake, Alexis, stop cussing. My ears can't control it", I pleaded her.

"Sorry, Ms. Sensitive Ears, but in extreme situations, I'm not able to control any of the swearings that come out."

I roll my eyes." It's okay."

I admit he is hot and handsome but, not like..that..'crazy-go' hot.

He is now looking in our direction and gives a flirtatious wink while his one hand running through his dark brown, silky looking hair.

Okay...mayBE he is 'Crazy-go' hot.

It's just been a few days for me here and I've already given a nickname to boy.

TO A BOY...For God's sake, Bernice.

But why do I  have a strange feeling about him?

He reminds me of someone. But who?
