Chapter 11
Two years earlier...
"Hey, Xavi," I chirp and walk towards him who is standing near his locker.
"Hey, babe," Xavier greets in a very masculin and deep voice. I'm a fan of his voice, by the way. He holds me by my waist and leans in to kiss me deeply. Before I could let him open my mouth to enter his tongue, I intervene and pull back.
"Look, I want to talk to you about something serious," I look at him seriously.
"Yeah, what about it, baby." Okay, so I am getting irritated by his babe-s and baby-s.
"I want to break-up," I say bluntly.
"What?! You kidding?" He askes astonished.
"No. Didn't I just say I wanted to talk about something serious?" I say nonchalantly and straight.
"But what about us?" He says in a pleading tone.
"There's no 'us'. We're over. Get that through the thick head of yours," I give a little wicked smile at last and turn around to walk.
"What do you think of yourselves? You bitch. Fuck you. One day, you'll pay for this. This isn't over," I hear him roar as I walk forward.
"You can have him now," I whisper while I pat on Haley's shoulder and continue walking forward, my head held high and shoulders broad as if walking on a ramp.

Present...
Sometimes attending morning classes can be so annoying. No, scratch that. Attending morning classes is always freakin' annoying. Even worse than the pain during waxing.
Which college has classes in the saturday morning at seven. SATURDAY morning, like, seriously! Oh yah, that might be my college. Fuck extra classes. Well, I wouldn't recommend that, eew. Sorry if I'm being violent but can't help.
Right now I'm sitting on the front row. Yes, front row, waiting for the bell to ring so that I could get out of this book-ish hell.
"Ms. Hawkins", I hear a distant screaming voice nagging in my ears. Can't a person even live a normal peaceful morning, nowadays?
A girl sitting on my left nudges me, causing me to wake up.
Wait, wake up? Was I sleeping? When did that happen? Oh God, it means that nagging voice was of none another but Hell Master, I mean Prof. Carter?
I adjust my eyes to the light of the room and reply, "Yes, sir?"
"Were you sleeping in MY class?" again that ear pearcing, irritating voice askes, emphasing the word 'my'. As if his class is any interesting.
"Uh, you see, sir, yesterday, uh--,"
I am interrupted by the high pitched ringing bell which at this moment is angel in disguise for me. I start to grab my books, put them in beg in hurry and start to get out of the class.
"We can talk about it later, sir. Time is money," I say while going out or you can say running out.
I turn my head around to see if someone is following me or not but when I turn in front, I am met with a rock hard chest. Oomph..
Thank God, at least I figured out it was a human and not a wall or a pillar. A smile appeared on me face for being proud of my judgement but instantly disappears when I look up to find--
"You really do like to bump into me, right?"
--Mr.'crazy-go' Hot. God, not now, not now.
"Are you smitten to me or my chest?" He says in his so rough still silky voice.
"What? No. I-I'm not," I say stuttering a little and looking everywhere in the ground hoping the stupid heart inside me could beat a little slow.
"Hmm, sure, but my question wasn't this."
I looked up at him in confusion.
"I asked are you smitten with me or my chest."
"Your chest," I reply without thinking but when I realize what I just said, Oh My GOD!. "I mean, not your chest--,"
"Then me?"
"No, yes, your chest. Not because it's hard or perfectly shaped or anything like that but--I don't know, it's not you, okay. I'm not like other girls, just know that," I say in a good speed that even I took two minutes to address it in my mind.
"I know better than anyone else that you are not like others girls," he says looking intensively into my eyes.
I again look at him in confusion. My eyebrows come a little closer.
"I mean, you wouldn't bump into me on purpose like other girls, at least that I've known till know, right?" He looked around and say with a chuckle and again lock eyes with me at the end.
I quickly avert my eyes and nod downwards.
"By the way, wanna have coffee with me? If it's fine by you."
"Yes, why not," oops that was way quicker reply than required. "Uh, sure, why not," I reply a little calmly this time.
------------------------------
Nathaniel's POV
That's the Bernice I know. Attention seeker, desperate and manipulative. Look, she made me wanna have a coffe date with her. That's what she might be thinking. But to me, it's all a part of the plan.
"Okay. So, today evening at 3:00?" I suggest.
"Fine by me," she replies in her oh, so sweet voice, which at one time was sugar to my cake. I know, I used to be so weird.
"See you then," I say and leave for my dorm to think further about my plan.
---------------------------
Bernice's POV
Here I am wearing a turquise sleevless dress reaching a little above my knees which I've worn after two-years. And guess who made me do this? Yes, that little evil, Alexis. I want to strangle her but I can't because unfortunately she's my bestfriend.
I asked for a dressing suggestion and it went like this:
_
"Alexis, help me, you piece of meat," I scream to beg for help while searching for clothes.
Alexis gets up from her bed and comes near me.
"God, Bernice. See the mess you've made. I'm not gonna clear it," she points UP towards the heap of clothes that I've rejected.
"That can be managed, but right now you have to help me find out clothes so that I look presentable to go on a coffee with Nathaniel."
Alexis' eyes widen and jumps in exitement, "You are going on a date with Nathaniel? OMG."
"He's not a celebrity that you're freaking out so much."
"As if he's any less."
Well, she's right. I smile thinking about it.
"Told ya', I'm neva' wrong."
"Whatever," I roll my eyes," now help me find a good pair of clothes."
"Pair of clothes? Are you kidding me? You'll not wear 'pair of clothes', you'll wear a dress. Got it?"
"What? Dress? Me? Huh, no way," I scoff.
"Yes you will. You wanted to look presentable, right?"
"Yah, but-,"
"No 'but's."
_
I'm walking to the cafe he told me to come.
I reach there and find that a table is already booked for us.
It was just a coffee date or not even that, I think, Why did he had to book a table? God knows why.
The waitress shows me the table where I find a piece of paper placed beneath the glass cup to keep it at place.
I pick the paper and get shocked after reading what was written on it.
