"what's your name?" The old woman asked from behind her desk
"Dolan. Grayson Dolan." he said, "I'm here to see my brother, Ethan."
She quickly nodded before typing on her keyboard. She looked at the screen for a few seconds before saying,
"Room 104." Grayson quickly thanked her before making his way to the room with a security guard following him.
He hasn't seen Ethan in months since the accident. He didn't know if he was ready, but he needed to see him.
Grayson looked around to see a few patients, all wearing grey sweatpants and long white sleeved shirt.
There were nurses as well.
When he turned around, he noticed a girl watching him. He frowned as she said,
"Ethan?"
"Uh," Gray looked around, "no I'm his twin brother."
"Oh," she said, "he always talks about you, you know."
"H-he does?"
"He misses you," she smiled, "he will be happy to see you here."
Grayson flashed her a quick smile as he nodded before he kept on walking, reaching the room 104.
He stopped, looking at the white door in front of him, wondering if he should knock.
Breathe in, breathe out.
Everything's gonna be okay gray, he thought.
Knock knock
"Come in," he heard a husky voice say
He pushed the door open to see Ethan, dressed as the others, laying in his bed looking at the ceiling.
When Ethan noticed no one was speaking or moving, he raised his head up to look at the door.
He couldn't believe who he saw.
"G-Grayson?" He asked as he quickly got up, head spinning because of the speed.
Grayson didn't talk, he didn't know what to say.
"Gray," Ethan's voice cracked as he quickly pulled his twin brother in a tight hug, "I fucking missed you,"
Grayson hugged him back. What could he do, he missed his brother too.
"I am so sorry for everything I've done, and I understand you couldn't see me before."
"Shh, let's not talk about that," Grayson said as he wiped his tears.
They both sat in bed for two hours, talking about random things, just avoiding the whole thing that happened.
"I'm getting better, Gray, and I like it here. It's peaceful and I know I won't hurt anyone."
Grayson nodded and someone knocked on the door.
"Yes?" Ethan asked, a bit loud so the person behind the door could hear
A nurse walked in with a plate and a few things on it,
"It's time for your medication, Ethan."
Ethan nodded, swallowing all the pills before thanking the nurse.
"Thanks, Rose."
"Visits end in 10 minutes," she said, looking at Grayson before walking out the room.
"Are you happy?" Grayson asked
"Uh?"
"Are you happy, here?"
"Yes, I mean it's not a five star hotel but I deserve it. I deserve to be in this asylum. I'm crazy" he said, chuckling.
"You're not crazy, you're just-" Grayson tried to find the words to describe him but he couldn't.
Because the truth was, he was crazy.
"It's okay, Gray. I got used to it. Plus people are nice here." He smiled before Grayson decided he needed to go.
"I'll come to visit you more often." Gray said as he hugged his brother.
He wasn't angry anymore, he was just sad and upset at the fact he didn't know what his brother was going through.
"Gray?"
"Yeah?"
"How is she? How's Veronica?"
"S-She's-" Grayson thought about what words should he use, "she's happy."
"Does she... did she move on?" He asked, sadness could clearly be heard in his voice.
"She did. She has a new boyfriend, Aaron. She's really happy with him."
"Well, I'm happy for her. At least he's not a crazy bipolar psychopath." Ethan bitterly laughed,
"Stop saying that Eth," Grayson said.
"We all still love you. You're family, eth, don't forget that."
"Thank you, Gray. I love you." Ethan said as he started tearing up.
"Love you too," Grayson hugged him one last time before he left the hospital.
He truly hoped Ethan would be able to find peace within himself.
And he hoped Vanessa was proud of him from up there. Because he knew that's what she would've wanted.
He loved her.
And he always will.
