Abilities
Author note: I am having to write this part from memory and the book cover will be done when I have some ideas. Also this part will have the extra bit that I missed on Auctor.
Neptune Glazier
The man pulls himself to the shore, the sand a glistening golden. The feeling between your toes, of unimaginable delight.
I to wanted to leave this water and be one with the sand but, I couldn't just leave my brother here to wither away and die. This water once was a place of purity and serenity, now it was just a force that could drag you down, taking your last precious breath away, like it had just done so to my brother.
I carry my brother from the sea and lay him gently on the sand, before then wandering over to the man and sitting comfortably beside him. He doesn't object to my presence but, simply acknowledges it, before then going back to his own silent thoughts.
I scan my eyes over this man, writing details of this man's appeance and what it could suggest about the man himself.
He was a large, oval man with unkempt hair and a scruffy beard. His clothes were rough, yet refined but, it was not forced, no, it was chosen. As if he had wealth but, preferred not to use it.
For a while we just sit there, content with our thoughts. Neither of us saying a word but, still silently enjoying each others company.
"Where am I?" the man at last asks with a deep, rough, country accent.
"You are in the Kingdom of Alieas, where you need not worry, as I will protect you." I say in a gentle, angelic tone.
"But, you're just a girl!"
"Oh I would be careful what you say, if I were you. I mean if father hears, it will be of with your head." I laugh highlighting that it was all a joke, bringing about a smile to this man's face.
I extend my hand, introducing myself to him but, it however, causes some confusion. As he had thought I was simply blurting out the names of planets and so in response he lists all the planets, that are known to him.
I burst out laughing, as I turn to him and say "No, the names Neptune."
"Oh, Jo." he says between fits of laughter
"What's it like where your from?" I ask eagerly.
"It's nice, I guess. I'm from a little town in Texas, so it's no this but, it's home."
I nod understandingly, as I knew how much it would hurt to be taken from the only life that you have ever known and placed in a new land, unworldy to your own. I mean it would bewilder any being.
I had so many questions that I wished to ask but, he still had a lot to process, so, I decided to settle with one last question.
"So, do you have any special abilities?"
This question takes him by surprise, as he turns his head away, ashamed of the answer. I knew that if I was to press further, it would only push him away. Regardless, I was sure I would find out soon enough.
I go back to my own peacefull and tranquil thoughts. I feel a state of relaxation and calm.
Soon, my thoughts are interupted, as palace guards align across the beach. I assumed that they were here for Jo, taking him in to be questioned on his intent and purpose with the Kingdom.
The soldiers clear a path for their leader to emerge. Their general wore a suit of diamond armour with magical properties. They held the helmet in their left hand, showing of their face.
They had a young face that had the potential to be sweet and innocent but, instead she chose to scrunch herself into a frown, leaving her stern and bitter to those around her.
She speaks in a strict tone as she addresses me with professionalism and distance.
"Princess Neptune, we are here to take you of to a execution. It is treason to kill a member of Royalty and I am shocked to learn that you have killed your own brother." she tries to sound sincere but, I can tell there was a hidden, darker, alternative motive.
I try to protest but, it only ever falls on deaf ears. I could fight but, I am outnumbered with guards, with powers greater than mine. The consequences were unknown, maybe possibly resulting in my death.
I hold up my hands in surrender, as the guards draw towards me. The final days of Neptune Glazier.
I look up at the sky, praying for a getaway. Someone must have heard as a flash of light crashed to the ground, taking with it, all the palace guards.
I turn behind me, preparing to take Jo's hand and run but, he wasn't there.
I knew know where this light had come from, Jo. He did in fact have abilities, abilities that he used to spare my life from death.
My mind now filled with infinite questions but, the two main ones that linger in my thoughts, were, if this man was from a different land, how did he have our powers? And secondly, how were these powers greater than my own people.
