[8] 22. This has been fun, but a certain Sociopathic Satanist has called

"Hey Mags," I heard on the other end of the phone. "What Dean?" I grumbled, peering at my bedside clock. 1:00 am. "Why the hell are you calling me, we live in the same house," I muttered, leaning on my elbow. "It's cold," he said. I rolled my eyes, "then put on a blanket, bye," I told him, preparing to hang up.

"Hey hey hey hey!" I hear desperately on the phone. "Please, the thermostat is right outside your room," he pleaded. "Fine," I grumbled, pressing the red button on my phone.

I wrapped my olive colored blanket round my shoulders. My feet shivered at the clammy floors, slowly trudging outside my door. It was eerie in the bunker. Dim yellow lights scattered the hallway, giving a strange look of descending fog. My hands searched for the thermostat, finding the box and putting the air up.

I was back in bed, cuddling into my blankets again. Each eyelid heavy with sand, pulling me down. My phone began to ring.

"What Dean?" I grumbled.

"Maggie...its been awhile,"

*****
"Dean!" I screamed, trying hard to untangle out of my blankets. "Sam!" With one last tug, I was free. I'm a futile attempt, I zapped into the bunkers main room. "Dean!" I said again.

Sam and Dean who had been talking jumped, giving out small shouts. "Maggie what the hell?!" Dean shouted, glaring at me. "He called me, Dean he called me," I sputtered, flailing about. They both blink in confusion, Dean furrowing his eyebrow. "Who Mags?"

"Luke called," I said quickly. "When?" A voice said from behind me. I leaped forward, as Sam and Dean jumped. "God damnit Cas!" Dean shouted, before blinking. "Cas..."

"Luke Ellis called you?" Castiel continued, walking towards me. I stiffened. "Where the hell have you been?" I murmured lowly. Ever since the Valentine's Day Fiasco, Cas had disappeared.

After our breakfast at the diner, he promised he would catch up with us. He promised he would keep in contact. He promised us his help. And for 3 weeks, we prayed. We went on 5 hunts. A werewolf pack. Vampires. A witch. Wendigo. And then a ghost.

The Wendigo almost got me. Tied up in that cave, I couldn't get out. We had just fought a witch who put a spell on me. I decided not to tell Dean and Sam, and just to go straight into the next hunt.

It stalled my powers and almost killed me. Where was Castiel?

"I've been, around..." He said gruffly. "We prayed Cas," Sam said softly. Dean was looking at him, half with happiness, half with anger. "Can we please focus on the problem at hand. I think this is more important," he reasoned. We all nodded, he did have a point. "But answer me this," I shifted my leg, "Why'd you leave?"

He looked at the floor, "you don't remember?"

I racked my head, shrugging. "No,"

"Okay," Dean cleared his throat. "This has been fun, but a certain Sociopathic satanist called," Dean chuckled darkly. "My brother's not a sociopath," I said towards Dean. "He's not exactly Mr. Nobel peace prize," Dean shot back. "I'm going to change first," I muttered, a certain unsettle in the pit of my stomach.

I didn't stay for their reactions, because in a snap, I was in my dark room. I got dressed in my normal attire: jeans, combat boots, shirt and flannel. When I passed by the mirror, I paused.

My wings billowed behind me in the shadows, casting strange lights across my face. I loved and hated them. They were beautiful, a part of me. But they also defined me as something else. Something of a sin.

Would Sam, Dean and Cas ever hunt me?

The fleeting thought crossed my mind. It made the unsettle in my stomach grow. No, of course not. We're family.

How long was I going to have to keep assuring myself that before I'm proved right, or wrong?

"So-"

"What did he say?" Castiel cut me off.

*****

"Maggie...it's been awhile,"

His voice. It crinkled through the phone speaker, but it awakened memories inside me. My eyes shut with reminiscence. "Is it you?" I said, not wanting to bring my hope up too high. "Yeah,"

I clicked a special setting on my phone. Recording on.

"Luke?" My voice cracked. There was s silence. "Mahogany-"

"Where have you been?" I cut him off. My knuckles were turning white from clutching my blanket. "I'm trying to find him," Luke told me.

"Him?" I asked, but I knew. I knew who him was. "You're not stupid Maggie, I'm trying to find Lucifer," he said in his mocking tone, a sound almost identical to old Luke. The Luke that would mess around with me.

"God damnit!" I shouted into the phone, closing my eyes. "There's no use finding him, he's gone,"

"I'm not stupid either, I know he's in the cage," Luke said, a deadly silence behind him. A deadly silence except for a strange, woman sounding voice. "Listen, I need to warn you. Stop trying to open the cage. It won't end well. There will be people trying to stop you, with force," I told him, trying my hardest to persuade.

A single light chuckle whispered across the line. "Like you?" He asked. I opened my mouth to talk, but he kept going. "I know what you've been doing, Maggie. I know who you're with. Hunters? Especially them? You know their dad tried to kill us once?" He kept going. "You've turned into one of them. Hunting monsters, you're turning on your own kind!"

"I'm not a monster,"

He kept going. "Oh, an hanging around an angel, don't even get me started! They hunt people like us, they hunt the beasts that make people scream!"

"I'm not a monster,"

"You help the very creatures that have killed so many of our kind. So many of the supernatural beings! You betray out existence on this world-"

"Luke Ellis I am not a monster, I am not!" I shouted, a tear escaping.

He sighed. "Keep convincing yourself that. When your friends turn their blade on you, you'll understand what I was trying to say." He paused. "Just know, I've got eyes everywhere,"

I wiped away my tears.

"And they see you,"

*****

"No way," Sam said, "did you get any leads?"

I didn't tell them about my breakdown. I didn't tell them about my monster denial. And definitely not about them turning on me.

"Maggie?" Dean snapped his fingers in my face. "Oh, um," I held up my phone. "I recorded the call?"

Castiel snatched it out of my hand. He pressed play, listening to the audio of us talking. "What was that?" Dean asked. "There was a woman," he walked forward, rewinding. "I can upload it to my computer, slow it down, enhance," Sam offered, sitting down at his laptop. "Let's finish it first," Cas said, pressing play. A fear drifted over me about what comes next.

"Listen, I need to warn you. Stop trying to open the cage. It won't end well. There will be people trying to stop you, with force,"

"Like you? I know what you've been doing, Maggie. I know who you're with. Hunters? Especially them? You know their dad tried to kill us once?"

Dean looked over to me with glance. But a glance of what; I wasn't sure.

"You've turned into one of them. Hunting monsters, you're turning on your own kind!" Luke's voice continued.

"I'm not a monster,"

Here we go.

"Oh, an hanging around an angel, don't even get me started-"

Castiel looked up, listening in.

"-They hunt people like us, they hunt the beasts that make people scream!"

"I'm not a monster,"

My voice scared me, I sounded desperate. As if I didn't believe myself. "Please stop this..." I murmured.

"You help the very creatures that have killed so many of our kind. So many of the supernatural beings! You betray out existence on this world-"

"Luke Ellis I am not a monster, I am not!"

There was a sigh. "Keep convincing yourself that. When your friends turn their blade on you, you'll understand what I was trying to say. Just know, I've got eyes everywhere. And they see you,"

Sam looked up at me. "Maggie-"

"Don't," I choked, "just rewind the fricking thing and slow down, enhance or whatever shit you were gonna do,"

He nodded, looking away from me.

"Talk to her," someone whispered behind me. "Talk to her? What the hell am I supposed to say, Cas? Sorry that my dad tried to kill you and that your brother is crazy?"

"I can hear you, yah know," I growled. With a snatch, I grabbed my leather coat and keys from the rack. "I'm taking the motorcycle,"

Dean took a few steps, "where?"

"A bar," I muttered.
