Raziel

Everything worked as plan and the Shadowhunters brought Clary and the child to me. I had them placed in the room that I prepared and made sure she was disarmed. There is no guarantee how long I have before Jace will show up to rescue them.

"Aldertree, is Clary secured?"

"Yes, my lord, as you asked. She will not be able to escape and she does not have her weapons or stele."

"That is good. I will go and have a word with her. Then I am going to kill her just like I said. Clary and her child will no longer be a threat."

"Raziel, my lord, are you sure that this is the right thing to do?"

"Of course it is. We cannot let the three of them live because they are dangerous together."

"You do know that Jace will come after you to end you? He is after all one of our best warriors. He will not stop until he gets his revenge. You will turn him into a dangerous warrior."

"Then Jace Herondale will die too, along with his wife and child."

I walked out of the room thinking about what Aldertree said about Jace. He will come after me, but I think I can handle him. We were in an abandoned warehouse and it was cold and humid. There was a lot of debris so I was careful walking along the corridor. I arrived at the room where Clary is being held. She has also turned out to be a strong Shadowhunter so she is manacled by one foot to the wall. She will not be able to touch me. Today will be her last day alive.

Jace

I took off my wedding band and activated my tracking rune and Alec did the same. We put our hands together and tried to track Clary. It seems that she is somewhere in Brooklyn and we decided to go to Alec's house and come up with a plan. We decided that we were going to keep this to ourselves and the team would be composed of Alec, Izzy, Simon, Magnus, and Luke. Maryse wanted to come, but with her not being a Shadowhunter, we could not take our chances of her getting hurt. Magnus opened a portal and we all walked through it with Magnus being the last one so that he can close it behind him. We were in Brooklyn not far from where Clary and Chris were being held as hostages.

"Hey Jace, I was just thinking why Chris did not protect them like he did where we were attacked at the alley?" Izzy had been thinking about this since they arrived at Alec's and Magnus'shouse.

"When Chris threw the barrier around Clary and we were able to cross it, it was because we were being attacked by demons. The people that took them were Shadowhunters so I think that is why the barrier did not go up."

"That makes sense. I hope they are alright."

"They will be, Izzy. They must."

"Izzy, do not put more stress on Jace, because he is stressed enough as it is." Alec overheard the conversation.

"I am so sorry, Jace. I did not mean to do that."

"It is okay, Izzy, but right now we need to concentrate on the matter at hand. Go in, locate Clary and the Baby, and get them out unharmed."

"Jace, I took the liberty of asking the Clave for help. There are Shadowhunters surrounding the warehouse as we speak. I want to make sure the rescue goes without a hitch."

"Thanks, Alec. We can use all the help we can get."

Clary

I woke up in a strange room and in a strange bed. Chris was asleep next to me. I went to get up and found out that I am changed to the wall by one of my ankles. My head hurt but my stele and my kindjals were gone. I heard the lock of the door rattling and a Shadowhunter came in. He looked very familiar but at the moment I could not think where I have seen him before. The only thing about this man is that he had certain runes that I have never seen before. He just smiled at me before he spoke.

"Hello Clarissa Herondale, are you comfortable?"

Who in the hell are you and why did you take me and my son?"

"You and your child are a danger to this world. I cannot allow you to live with the powers you both hold."

"What the hell are you talking about? Who are you? You think you know me or my son. You do not know anything about our powers or know if we are dangerous. I do not know who told you that I am a threat or that my newborn son will be."

"I am Raziel. Michael and Gabriel cast me out of heaven because of what I did to you, punish you for abusing your angelic power. Ithuriel is not happy at all."

"Ithuriel? I saw Lilith kill him."

"Michael and Gabriel were able to bring him back. He was quite angry with me for erasing your memories and taking you away from Jace. Those fools do not know or understand my reasons of why you and Jace cannot be together, let alone have children."

"You bastard. When Valentine killed Jace and summoned you, I asked you to bring Jace back. You did, but if you knew all this, why bring him back? Why put us through this torture? I disobeyed you after you sent my mom to give me your message because my brother, Jonathan, was killing everyone at all the institutes. I had to stop him and was able to create a rune that would do that. If I did not stop my brother, he was going to destroy the world. This cost me the last blood relative I had left. You punished me for saving the world.

"I punished you for the runes that you have created. That power was not for you to have."

"That is a gift given to me by Ithuriel whose blood I carry. He never asked me not to use my gifts. All the runes that I have created, I have used to save other Shadowhunters without hurting anyone. Yet I paid the price for using my gift to save the world. You separated from the only person that I love and wanted to be by my side. I spent sleepless nights wondering who the father of my child was. Jace has not done anything wrong but does his best as the best Shadowhunter he was meant to be. As a man, he has changed for me learning how to love and trust people. Our son is only two weeks old and too young for anyone to predict who he is going to be in the future."

"I saw how he created a barrier around you, Jace, and the Lightwood girl while you were just a few months pregnant with him,"

"Protecting us from demons. Demons someone sent after me. When you just had me kidnapped, he did not create a barrier to protect us from other Shadowhunters even though they were doing evil."

"I am sorry, Clarissa, I cannot allow you and your son to live. The three together are dangerous. You and Jace will procreate and bring more children to this world. I cannot allow that."

"You keep saying dangerous, what like you? You are Raziel, the angel all Shadowhunters praise and respect and pray to. Yet you are punishing and attacking innocents."

"It still stands Clarissa, you cannot live."

"Jace is coming for us, Raziel. He will end you if he must."

"Jace will..."

" End you if you do not release my wife and son. You have abused your powers, Raziel, and I am sure that even you have someone to answer to."

"Yes, Raziel has someone to answer to. Were you not told to stay away from my children, and yet you have imprisoned them here."

I was surprised to see Jace arrive so quickly and then Ithuriel and some angels I have never seen before appeared behind him. The angels grabbed Raziel and put manacles on him. Then there was a commotion in the hallway. Shadowhunters were gathering all the rogue Shadowhunters and restraining them. Izzy and Alec came in through the door with Aldertree whose hands were manacled between them. Jace ran to me and used the opening rune to release me from the manacle on my ankle. He took me into his arms after looking me over to see if I was hurt. He kissed me lightly and after letting me go, bent over and picked up Chris kissing him on the forehead.

Jace

"I thought I lost you again. You and Chris both. I have never been so scared in my entire life as I was when they took you."

"You will never lose your family, Jace. I promise that from this day forward, you and Clary will live in peace. I promise you that I will be watching over you. May I?"

Ithuriel held his arms out so that I can hand Chris over to him. He looked at Chris with great admiration.

"You are going to be a very strong and powerful Nephilim, little one, stronger than your father. I will always protect you."

He handed the baby to Clary and embraced her. Then he came to me and put his arms around me. He stepped away with a smile on his face as he faded away. I turned around and faced Aldertree.

"How the hell did you worm your way out of the guard for the last stunt that you pulled? You got involved with Raziel to kill, Clary, my wife, and my newborn son? I ought to end you right here, right now."

"Jace, take it easy. You know we have to turn him over to the Clave. This time I am going to make sure that he will never get out again."

"Thanks, Alec. You are right. I just need to get my wife and son back home."

"Clary, are you alright? We were so scared when they took you."

Simon put his arms around Clary and held her tight. Izzy and then Magnus followed behind. Chris went to each of their arms as they held him and made sure he was alright.

"Well, if everyone is ready, I will open the portal to the Manor. We need to get Clary and Chris home."

"Yes, we are. Home where they belong by my side."

I put my arm around Clary's waist and we both walked together through the portal and were standing in our living room. Clary took the baby upstairs, changing his diaper and feeding him. She laid him down for a nap and we both stood there for a few minutes, watching him sleep. I took Clary in my arms and crushed my lips to hers, tasting every bit of her as soon as she parted her lips. We kissed until we had to catch our breaths.

"Clary, I love you. I made a decision about what I want our lives to be. You were right being a Shadowhunter brought joy to me. I was good at what I did and was constantly training to be the best. When you were taken, I was able to track you because we both have access to our runes and angelic powers. I want us to stay here in Idris. I will put my conditions to the Clave if I return because spending time with you and Chris is what is important and comes before anything or anyone. The Manor makes a great place to raise our children and for them to know who they are and where they come from. I will not make the mistake Joclyn made with you. You were lost and did not know where you belonged. This is only if you want to stay here, but if you want to go back to New York and the apartment, it is fine with me."

"Jace, like I have told you before, you are my home. If this is what you want, then here or New York or London, as long as I am by your side, I will be happy. The Manor is a great place to raise our children. I love you too, Jace, always."
