"can I ask you both a question" Jungkook's mother asked Jimin and Taehyung

"sure" Jimin said

"when are you two getting married"

Jungkook's heart dropped , Taehyung and Jimin froze , this was a unexpected question.They looked at each other , they have been asked this question many times before and they have answered the question very easily . But now they don't know what to say or more like they don't want to say it.

They both looked at Jungkook who had a clear expression of hurt on his face. He was looking down, not able to look at them . Taehyung and Jimin's heart ached seeing Jungkook sad .

Jungkook didn't know why he was feeling this way. He knew they were engaged , of course they would get married someday. He should be happy for them, and he was ,but a small part of his heart felt pity for himself.

The fact that he will never be a part of Taehyung and Jimin's life is painful, very painful. He hates himself because he lost two precious people because of his stupidity and now there is no turning back . But he can't bring himself to accept the fact that he will not be with Taehyung and Jimin. He will be alone watching from sideline hating himself for loosing the opportunity to be with them .

But it's of no use now, he should have thought about it before cheating on them. He deserves this ,he deserves to be alone. He deserves the pain .

Mrs Jeon looked up at the couple waiting for the answer.

"umm ,we still haven't decided but we have thought of getting married by the end of next year" Jimin said

"uh I see, by the way how did the two of you meet " she asked

" we were friends since kindergarten and we were also neighbors. We were best friends at first and then we started dating in high school" Taehyung said .

"I see, it must feel good to marry your childhood sweetheart" she said

"yeah it is " both of them said .

Jungkook was silent all that time.

"well do you guys know that my bunny here, also fell in love during high school" she said

Jungkook's heart literally stopped 'mom no please no don't go there please'

"mom why are you bringing old topics, just drop it"

Taehyung and Jimin were curious now, they wanted to hear more "ma'am I would really like to listen ,please continue" Jimin said

'fuck my life' Jungkook thought ."mom please stop" he said but it looked like she turned a deaf ear to him.

Jungkook didn't like this habit of hers. She would always start talking about his childhood to the guest , and whenever Jungkook would try to stop her ,she wouldn't listen. But Jungkook always noticed that whenever she talked about him or his brother, her eyes literally sparkled. She looked happy, she looked proud. just like now. But he just can't sit here anymore he needs a break. This wasn't going to stop ,he knows that.

"mom I am going to check on cotton and give him food " he said

"but I already gave him food"

"okay so I will just go and check on him" he said and went inside .

"looks like he got shy again, cotton is his hamster by the way if you are curious ,anyway let me continue "

"yeah sure" both Taehyung and Jimin said .

"well you see, when he was in 11th grade he fell in love with his two seniors who were in 12th grade"

"did he ever told you that he was in love with them" Jimin said.

"no"

"then how did you know" Taehyung said.

"well ,Jungkook was a shy kid. He would hide his true personality behind a bratty attitude , he didn't have any true friends at that time I was the only one he talked to, he never really liked going to school also. I would literally have to through him out of the house and tell my personal driver to take him to school"

"but one day he came back to school with a big smile , he looked very happy and excited it was my first time seeing him like this, so when I asked him what happened he told me that he met a mochi and a tiger in the school, he never told me their real names even till today, I don't know who were those mysterious tiger and mochi"

Taehyung and Jimin smiled at the nicknames , Jungkook would always use these nicknames with them.

" from then on he would always look forward on going to school and would always come back with a big smile on his face, he would often talk about his mochi and tiger and whenever he would talk about them his eyes would sparkle and there would always be a big smile on his face , he would buy gifts for them ,he would often arrange dates for them. In short, he did all the things he would never do for anyone else , he never talked like this about anyone he dated before , he never even mentioned them but tiger and mochi were different"

At this point Jimin and Taehyung were smiling as they knew very well who were those mochi and tiger , their hearts were filled with warmth they wanted to hear more . It was clear how well this woman understood Jungkook. Well obviously, she was his mother, but she clearly understood Jungkook more than anyone else in the world, even Jungkook himself couldn't understand his own feelings but his mother did. It was really heart warming to see that their bond was so strong.

"Tiger and Mochi made him smile , they made him happy , they made him look at the brighter side of life. They were slowly changing him, bringing him out of his shell and that's what scared him" she said and the room went quiet.

Taehyung and Jimin looked at each other, scared him, what did it mean' scared him'. Did their love scared Jungkook, but how , was it something they did or was it something else.

"what do you mean scared him" Jimin said

"well you see, Jungkook is somewhat scared of love , he was afraid of being hurt , he never trusted anyone or relied on anyone other than himself , so when Tiger and Mochi came into his life things started to change he started to trust them more than himself and wanted to rely more on them which I think scared him , it was a new feeling for him "

Taehyung and jimin were listening to her attentively, taking in each word she said. So Jungkook left them because he was insecure and scared, but why?

"um, Mrs Jeon is there a reason why Jungkook is scared of love" Taehyung asked

Mrs. Jeon thought for a bit and then said "yes but that's not my story to tell"

Taehyung and Jimin nodded "then what happened Mrs. Jeon" Jimin asked Mrs. Jeon although he knew very well what happened next

"then he did something stupid , he was so scared and insecure that he decided to let those feelings go before they get more strong so he decided to break up with them , but he also made tiger and mochi hate him because he didn't wanted them to feel that it was their fault, since Jungkook won't be able to explain to them how he feels, he thought it would be better for them to hate him, so they never come back to him , and his plan worked, but after that day Jungkook went back to his previous self and again and built walls around his heart" she said "anyway, let me take these dishes to the sink"

"oh let us help you " Taehyung said and picked up the plates and put then in the sink.

After sometime Jungkook came back to the living room and sat with his mother , Taehyung and Jimin were also there.

" I think we should leave now" Taehyung said

"yeah , thank you for dinner Mrs. Jeon " Jimin said

"oh any time sweeties, you two are just like my son" she said and smiled , Taehyung and Jimin really respected this woman. "bye and good night and yeah get home safely " she said

Taehyung and Jimin went outside the apartment and Jungkook went to lock the door.

Mrs. Jeon on the other hand was sitting on the sofa smiling thinking about today's encounter with Taehyung and Jimin and then slowly said "it was really nice to finally meet you ,Tiger and Mochi".
