7. Ex?

"Hello hi bye bye, NK son, you said yours and Khushi's marriage is Love marriage? Huh? And here, your lovely wife ran away with another man? ", NK clenched his fists as he heard Manorama say once again.

" Shut up, Mami," they heard two voices at the same time. Arnav and NK. While one's feeling was true, another one's was an act or might be true indeed, couldn't judge just yet.

"I'll go search for her," Arnav said, running towards the door, worry etched on his face.

"I'll too." NK followed Arnav.

Temple

"Hey Devimayya, what are you trying to do with me? And just why?" she mumbled with tears glistening in her hazelnuts.

"It's okay, Khush," he tried to comfort her.

"No it's not okay," she shrugged his arms off her shoulder.

"But Khushi, just listen to what I've to say, at least, if not more," he pleaded, desperately hailing his arms on Khushi's.

Khushi glared at him, the glint in her screamed of nothing else but a-very-known-aggression "Okay, calm down. Zipping my mouth." He raised his arms in surrender and thinned his lips.

Khushi looked back at Devimayya and seemed lost in thoughts.

"Heya!" He smiled at her, removing his gloves and coat and putting them on the table.

"Hey! How's your theory?" She asked, removing her gloves and putting the flasks aside securely.

"Theory is ofcourse alright. It has just not been into practical the same way." He sat on the chair right beside a window, a little away from her.

"Not exactly a failure, you mean, alright!" that wasn't a question exactly, rather had she made a statement, guess.

"Hmm, yeah," he mumbled, closing his eyes. His face screamed exhaustion.

"Improvement I see."

"Yeah. What about yours?" he asked. His voice was low.

"Good. I need to just make a report, complete the process, and then leave it to Professor Ram Kandi," she air quoted her words.

He chuckled. "All the best, Ms. Gomes! I know you would do it."

"Thank you, Mr Shregil."

"So, how's your over-possessive boyfriend?" he asked.

"Alright he's."

"Ms. Gomes, you're needed in ICUNo.2548, immediately." A pager beeps on the table.

"Alright, Shregil. I need to move I guess," she said, taking her coat and moving ahead with a stethoscope hanging around her arms.

"All the best, Dr. KK Gomes!" he screamed as she moved out.

"Let's go," she said and moved out. He followed behind her.

Just as they ran towards their car, Khushi stepped into the house tired.

As soon as Arnav felt her, his steps halted and he turned around.

"Khushi.." he whispered. His heart was in peace. She's safe.

NK who just heard his brother, looked towards the entry and his anger notched up high. Before he could make his way to her, probably to hurt her, Arnav was already there, in front of her, hugging her to his heart.

"Khushi.." he cupped her cheeks, overwhelmed. Out of words to ask her anything. Only her name on his lips, chanting. And just as he gathered the sense to ask more than chant her name, NK grabbed her from the wrist, roughly. And this act burst the bubble he was in.

"NK!" he screamed furious at the way NK was holding a whimpering Khushi.

"She's my wife, Arnav. Dare you touch her." This angered Arnav more and he fisted his urging hands to punch him.

"I know, and this isn't the you treat your wife. It's hurting her," he gritted his teeth.

"As if you never hurt her!" he spat. And it hurt Arnav deep in his heart. His fist loosened. His already moistened eyes didn't look any better. Realisation of truth, and of pain, and of hurt, are seen on those chocolate orbs.

After sometime,

Dining Table

It has been two hours since Khushi was back. And from them Manorama didn't let the chance go to curse her. NK had his due course of abuse, emotionally damaging her more. If she's still in a little of her sanity, thanks should have been given to Arnav himself. And as always she wasn't given a place for herself in the family, while everyone including her-so-called husband were ready to just have their dinner.

"I have to go to Sydney. I have a conference," Arnav said to his family while having dinner.

"Sydney?" Anjali looked happy.

"Yeah."

"Then you can meet Uncle and Aunt as well. What's you call NK bhai?" Anjali turned her gaze towards NK?

NK who heard Arnav became pale. No, Arnav can't go to his house. He will get to know the truth that I'm not. He stopped himself from thinking further.

"Yeah, why not!" NK forced a smile.

"In fact, I was thinking why don't I go with Khushi as well. It's my responsibility to take her there obviously."

"That's good, NK. Get ready then. We'll go by my jet tomorrow itself," Arnav said with his usual grim face.

"Yeah, Arnav." NK agreed.

So, what if Arnav's coming, he should know what kind of a woman she is and maybe just then he'd hate her. Help us in destroying the kind of woman she's. NK thought.

Arnav got up from his seat, with two plates in his hands he made while the conversation was going on.

"Chotte, where are you going?" Anjali asked.

"I'll have my dinner in privacy."

"Then what's the need of two plates, Arnav bitwa?" Manorama asked.

"To fill my stomach twice," he walked up to the stairs leaving a sulking Manorama behind. But did he care?
