Episode 2: The Avatar Returns 
Season 1

Chapter 8 Accident

Third person POV. 

When Luna got to Aang and Katara she landed softly onto the soft white snow in front of them, "What! Happened!?" She yelled out. She was now walking backwards staring at the two of them worried, furious and scared. She didn't know what had happened with them and she didn't like that.

"What were you two doing when that... flare went off!?" She asks Aang. "Please tell me you are ok?" She begs out as she grasps a hold of his face to see if there was any damage to him.

Aang swats her hand away from him, "I'm fine Luna, Katara and I are fine" he said with a big smile on his face.

Luna's ears picked up the pitter patter of the young children of the village rushing over to them with their small adorable giggles, she swiftly turned her body around to face the children, "Yay! Aang's back!" They yell out happily as they rush over to Aang with their small arms wide open to him. 

Luna's eyes scanned the older villagers for their expression and got them quite fast, they weren't happy with the two. Her eyes landed on movement, Sokka who rushed through the small group of villagers, "I knew it! You signaled the Fire Navy with the flare! You're leading them straight to us, aren't you?" he accused out. 

"Hey Sokka, calm down! Aangs not with the Fire Navy" Luna fired back in defense, she turned to Aang and Katara and softened her expression, "what happened out there?" She asks them. 

Katara takes a step out towards them, "Aang didn't do anything wrong, it was an accident" Katara said defending her new friend against her brother and Luna.

"See!" Luna fired at Sokka.

"Yeah, we were on the ship and there was this Booby trap and, well, we... we boobied right into it" Aang said. 

Luna stopped and her eyes snapped wider, she snapped her eyes away from Sokka to Aang with shock and anger in her eyes, "Katara, you shouldn't have gone on that ship. Now, we could all be in danger!" 

"Aang what did you miss when I said to not do somthing stupid!?" She snapped at him. "I told you not to do something stupid!" She adds on. 

"Please don't blame Katara" 

"I'm not going to blame her, I know you probably told her take a chance on doing SOMETHING STUPID" she said point to Katara. "It's my fault," Aang said. 

Luna slaps her hand onto her forehead and throws her head back, "Aang!!" she groans out loudly. 

"Aha! The traitor confesses! Warriors, away from the enemy's. The foreigner is banished from our village" Sokka yelled out. 

"Hey! Aang's no traitor!" She snaps at him. "Hey if Aangs a traitor, it makes you a traitor too" he snapped back to her. His eyes harden at her. 

Luna hisses at him and steps towards him, "I'm no traitor!" She snaps at him.

Sokka was taken back by her hissing at him and stepped back fast, his eyes softened on her, but that didn't stop him. 

"Sokka! You're making a mistake" Katara said, trying to defend the two airbenders. 

"No, I'm keeping my promise to Dad. I'm protecting you from threats like them" Sokka said, pointing to himself and then to the two airbenders.

Luna felt sadness rush through her as he said those words to her, she didn't like the way he looked at her, "I'm not a threat to you" she mumbles out. She looks away from him to the ground. 

"Aang and Luna aren't our enemy!" Katara started. "Don't you see? Aang's brought us something we haven't had in a long time; fun" she adds on. 

Aang giggles at Luna's expression. Luna glares at him to shut up, "Fun? We can't fight firebender with fun!" Sokka retorted back. 

"You should try it sometime," Aang said to Sokka. Luna's head goes flying back and a loud groan leaves her mouth again.

Sokka shakes his head at him, "Get out of our village, now!" He yells. 

Luna looks at him and sighs, she brings her back up and fixes her hood, "Grandmother, please, don't let Sokka do this," Katara begs out to her. She didn’t want them to go, Aang was fun and kind to her, plus he's an airbender with a bison who could take her to the north pole to learn waterbender so she could come back here and defend her village from the firebenders. She didn't want to feel like she couldn't do something to help her village, she wanted to do more than chores all the time. 

"Katara, you knew going on that ship was forbidden, Sokka was right. I think it's best if you two airbenders leave," Gran said to Katara. 

"Fine! Then I'm banished, too. Come on Aang, Luna, let's go" Katara said, turning around and grabbing a hold of Aang's upper arm and starting dragging him away from the village. 

Luna didn't move as she knew she wouldn't let the young girl do that, she wouldn’t let her leave her village with people she hardly knows. 

"Where do you think you're going?" Sokka yells out. "To find a waterbender. Aang is taking me to the north pole" Katara said back. 

"I am? Great" Aang said happily. 

Luna shakes her head, "Aang" she said loud enough for him to hear and get what she was getting at. 

"Katara, would you really choose him over your tribe? Your own family?" He asks her. 

Luna looked between the village and Aang and Katara. She waited for Aang to do the right thing. Luna looks over to Sokka and sighs again. Sokka looked at her quickly before looking away from her. 

Sokka... didn't really want her to go, but it had to happen. Luna twirled her glider and opened it before pushing off the ground and flying and landing on Appas back.

"It was nice meeting everyone," Aang said to them all. Luna just waves at them, "let's see your bison fly now air boy" Sokka said with his arms crossed over his chest. 

Luna rolls her eyes at him and smirks, all she does is bring her hand up and flick her finger and seconds later snow is covering Sokka's face. She giggles at Sokka who quickly whipped his face off and glared at her... but slightly softens as he hears the slight giggles that escaped her mouth. 

"Come on, Appa, you can do it. Yip, yip" Aang said. 

Again Sokka being Sokka, he looks away from her to Aang, "yeah, I thought so" he said. 

Again Luna smirks and moves her hands up and Sokka is jumping back and hiding behind Gran. Luna laughs and brings her hand down. 

"Aang, don't go. I'll miss you" a little village girl said to Aang sadly. Luna rests her chin on her arms and looks over to Aagn who looks down to the girl with a sad expression, "I'll miss you, too" he said. 

She could see Aang look away from the girl to Katara and stare at her for a few seconds before looking down, "come on boy" he sighs out. 

Appa started walking away from everyone. Luna waited until she could hardly see the village before she got up and walked over to Aang. She sat down beside him and sighs softly, "I didn't mean to" he mumbles out. "I'm sorry that I didn’t listen to you... I shouldn't have gone in there, Katara said we shouldn’t and you said not to do something stupid and... I didn’t listen to anyone" he adds on. 

"Aang I know you didn't mean any harm, it was an accident. You’re a nice boy, who did somthing stupid and you have probably learned your lesson. The best you can do is listen to them... even though we don't want to go, we have to.... it's the best thing we could do for them" she said to her... she looks away from him to the side, "I think" she adds on quality to herself.

"I know.... do you know?" Aang asks her. 

"Yeah I do"
