Your (pov)~

"W-What!? I-I have... cat ears?" Toony gasped as he stared at his reflection in awe.
I couldn't tell whether he was amazed, mesmerized, terrified, or just plain freaked out about this sudden appearance change of his.
"Toony?" I asked, handing him the mirror so he could continue to examine his new ears.
"Y-Yeah?" He replied in a slightly quiet voice as he still gazed at his reflection.
"D-Do you know how you got your new cat ears and tail?" I continued.
He became silent, lowering the mirror as he looked up at me with worry showing in his eyes.
"I-I-I was going to ask you..." He replied as his ears drooped.
We both stared at each other for some time, confused and worried about this new situation we had gotten ourselves into.
Toony looked down, letting out a sigh as his tail drooped. But the sigh didn't sound like a normal one, more like a little meow of a kitten, which made Toony's eyes immediately widen as he covered his mouth with his hands, his face turning crimson in embarrassment.
My eyes also widened as I looked at him. I covered my mouth with one of my hands, trying to contain the laughter that was attempting to escape my lips.
"Toony... did you just..." I said in between little chirps of laughter that escaped.
"Y-Y-Yes..." He studdered, completely embarrassed.
There was almost complete silence, if you count my muffled laughter. And Toony was just too embarrassed to speak, covering his mouth with his hands to try and prevent from meowing again.
I regained my usual state again when I remembered what our situation currently was.
I slightly coughed to push away my laughter, regaining a sane and calm attitude.
"Well, um... since you said you didn't know how you got your tail and ears, why don't we retrace your steps? You know, to try and see what had happened to you and where you were." I said.
Toony seemed to relax at the subject change, lowering his hands from his face as he slightly nodded, his tail beginning to twitch in anticipation.
"Okay. That sounds like a plan." He replied with a sheepish smile.
"Alright, do you remember where you last were?" I asked, slightly cocking my head.
He nodded as a response and motioned for me to follow him as he walked out of the back mansion doors. I followed him as he looked around and mumbled a few things under his breath till his ears perked up.
"Oh! I remember! I woke up in the forest. Follow me, (y/n)!" He chirped, grabbing my wrist as he pulled me with him and lead me across the fields and into the forest.
I didn't stop him of course, I was used to him dragging me places at times. I ran along side him, keeping pace yet slightly behind him as he kept dragging me along.

The deeper we got into the forest, the thicker the trees and other plants got. We had to duck through a few things before reaching our destination; a small field (about the size of a suburban backyard) that was in the middle of all of these trees and brush.
"Uh, Toony, why are we here?" I asked as I looked around.
"Because this is where I woke up." He responded, looking back at me.
I gave a shocked and confused look.
"Wha- woke up?"
"Yeah." He said in a calm tone.
"How? Where were you before? Were you out here and did you fall asleep while you were here?" I asked, looking around.
"I dunno. I can't remember anything up till this point. All I remember is that I woke up here with blurry vision." He said with a shrug.
I let out a sigh as I looked around again.
"Although, I do remember seeing some sort of symbol when I woke up. it was only for a few seconds, but I remember what it looked like. It looked like a circle with horns and swords sticking into it on all sides. I don't remember ever seeing something like it before I woke up." Toony continued.
My eyes widened as I looked over at him again.
"What!?" I gasped.
The way he described that symbol... I feel like I've seen it before. I just can't remember where... I thought as I stared blankly at the forest.
I thought for a while more until a rustling sound of leaves brought my attention back to reality, making me look around.
I looked at Toony. Seeing him alert and slightly paranoid made worry instantly worm into my mind and expression.
I heard it again. The rustling sound of leaves.
Toony's ears twitched around urgently.
"(Y-Y/n)..." He whispered.
"Yeah, I know. Get ready," I replied in a whisper.
"We're being watched..."

Sorry if that was shorter than usual, I wanted to leave you at a cliff-hanger for now. I'll make the next chapter later, but I wanna sleep.
