Brooke had just gotten a new job in Boston and had to move from her home in Texas to a brand new city. She found a nice apartment in a great part of town and was getting all her stuff moved in. She had recruited her sister, Kennedy, and her boyfriend of five years, Keith, to spend the weekend with her and to help get everything moved in and set up. Saturday evening they had all the furniture set up and most of the boxes unpacked, and Brooke decided they deserved a little treat.

"Why don't I head out and get us some Chinese food. I saw a nice little place a few blocks down and we might as well try it out now."

"That's sounds great." Kennedy responded. "Want us to come with you?"

"No, I think I'll be fine. Plus, after spending this much time with you guys, I think I need some alone time." They all chuckled and she grabbed her bag and keys and headed outside to her car. It took about thirty minutes for Brooke to get all the food and make her way back to the apartment. As she walked the flight of stairs to her floor, she saw a guy following her. She had no idea who he was but immediately thought he was pretty attractive. As she exited the stairwell, so did the man. The two made their way down the hall without a word until they got to their doors.

"I'm guessing your my new neighbor." He said as Brooke pulled out her house key.

She looked at the handsome stranger and smiled. "It seems so, doesn't it."

"I'm Chris, by the way." He stuck out his hand and Brooke shook it.

"I'm Brooke. Nice to meet you, Chris"

"Nice to meet you, too. I'll see you around."

"Bye." The two unlocked their doors and made their way inside their homes. Brooke walked inside the apartment and set the food on the table where Kennedy and Keith were already sitting.

"Who were you talking to out there?" Kennedy asked as Brooke sat down with them.

"Were you creeping on me?" She asked as she opened the bag with their dinner.

"Maybe I was, maybe I wasn't. Just tell us who it was."

"It was just my new neighbor. He lives across the hall."

"Well, this new neighbor of yours sounds hot." She said and Brooke handed her a package of food.

"I'm sitting right here." Keith joked and they all laughed.

Brooke shrugged. "I guess."

"That means he's hot." Kennedy said turning to Keith. "Brookie has a crush." She said in a sing-song voice.

"Oh shut up." Brooke said and threw a pair of chopsticks at her, chuckling. The three continued eating and chatting about random things until they were all finished and tired out of their wits. "Looks like it's time for bed. I'll clean this up and you guys can go sleep."

"Alright little sis. We'll see you tomorrow morning. I love you."

"Love you, too. G'night Keith."

"Night Brooke." The pair made their way into the second bedroom and got ready to sleep. Brooke continued cleaning up and remembered her encounter with Chris. He really had been pretty cute. Who knows. She thought. A guy like that probably already has a girlfriend.
