The Sun and The Moon
The cosmic waltz of our covert gaze,
Embraced dreams; that collided in silence,
The warmth that touched my juvenile buds,
Laid claim to my blooms of the fierce nights,
Shredding the garb of my innocence.
My passionate breath circumambulates yours,
While you smiled at me like a God in exile,
I curled like a burning rose in need,
Usurping the tides of my father's shore,
Misting his hapless concern and vigil.
I neared you, my lord, my heart aglow in your shade,
My spine ached, darkened with the primaeval instinct,
As you wreathed me in your radiance with a feverish kiss,
My people watched us embrace at the celestial crossroad,
They gasped and blushed in wonder at our nuptial ring.
The envious stars that sat crossed in the sky,
Had sent forth the sentinels of the fortnight for us,
They hacked at the ring and pulled me away,
Over the sky and across my father's wrath,
I crescented with ours as I journeyed away.
I waded in the dark waters of my blood's shadow,
My tears a sacrifice for a moment of the morn's bright,
The gates of heaven's growled like the hell's pit,
The muses trapped and their harp broken,
The lark in my heart lay twisted by its neck.
Oh! the sonneteers of my father's court, hark,
Feed the sherries of my desire to the Apollo,
Let him weep the last of his verses in ecstasy,
Fetch them in the chalice of your skilful mouth,
And whisper it to my ears, anointing my womanhood.
The bottled cries of my soul spilt in moon glade,
Whispering stories to the words of the moon-eyed poet,
As I waned and paraded in the sky beside my father, in wait,
My worded longing ripened to the delectable silent fruit,
Tasted by the hearts that felt and sighed for true love.
