Draco wandered through the halls of Hogwarts, well, maybe wandered isn't the right word, he was basically speed-wandering at this point. He knew where Luna went when she was upset, and he wanted to get there quickly so he could be with her. He had no idea what she could possibly be so stressed about, but whatever it was, he was going to eliminate it, because absolutely no one hurt the preciousness that is Luna Elizabeth Lovegood.

Exiting the castle, he made his way past the Quidditch Pitch, past Hagrid's Hut, skirting AROUND Hagrid's Hut because of various reasons consisting of the fact that Hagrid pulled any student who he saw into his house and showed them his poison-spitting plants, (and Draco really wasn't in the mood to go to the Hospital Wing, not when there were Luna's to be taken care of) and to the edge of the Forbidden Forest.

The forest was a bit of a touchy spot for him because of what had happened in first year with the... well, we don't really need to get into it, he's still a little traumatized. But she was worth it. So he stepped into the shade made by the curtain of trees and walked for a while until he heard the bubbling of the spring that Luna loved to sit by. And there she was, as he had suspected. Sitting on one of the flat rocks, knees tucked up under her chin and her arms around her legs, looking sadder than usual.

"Lu?" Draco's voice broke the silence, making her look up. Her blonde hair fell over her face as she stared at him, not quite sure what to say. She didn't think he would come find her.

Draco came over and sat down on the stone next to her, putting his face in his hands and waiting for Luna to offer up something.

After a few minutes, she looked up, and Draco didn't think the sun reflecting in her eyes was why they looked teary. "What's wrong?" he asked gently, scooting over to her and wrapping an arm around her shoulders. She leaned into him and rested her head on his shoulder. He could tell she was crying, but instead of saying anything, he laid his head on top of hers and held her close to him.

She would tell him what was wrong soon enough, but right now, the thing she needed most was a best friend, support, and love, and truth be told, she was the only one who could draw out this side of him. And she always would be.
