the Pokémon Center, Brock was shocked of the news Nurse Joy made. "WHAT!? What do you mean with she just left!?" Brock yelled in surprise.

Nurse Joy smiled, feeling sorry for the breeder. "You see, Brock. She told Me that not only was it her fault that you two lost but she also got a call from her boyfriend that he had something to show her that couldn't wait. So she left an hour again!" Nurse Joy explained.

Dawn sweat dropped at that. "Even if Brock tells her that it wasn't, she still insists... huh." Ash muttered.

"So, she's going to meet up with her boyfriend!" Nurse Jou finished. Ash and Dawn smiled at that.

"See, Brock? No need to worry!" Dawn assured. Brock still hanged his head low in despair.

"Great... I finally found a woman who likes Me for what I am..." Brock groaned. He then turned to both Ash and Necro fiercely!

"Brock don't worry she's safe," grinned Shonei as he watched him.

"Ash! Necro! You two get out there and show them who's the boss, and do it for Me!" Brock yelled. Both Monferno and Necro just sweat dropped, before nodding slowly. Ash smiled and agreed.

"Sure!" Ash exclaimed.

"Well, you sound very excited." Necro smirked.

"So do you, Necro!" Ash grinned.

Necro smiled until Nurse Joy called for Kite. "Oh, Kite? I'm all finished taking care of your Onix, so here and now good luck in the final match this afternoon!" Nurse Joy explained while Kite took the Pokéball from the nurse.

"Thank you very much." Kite called, as he turned to leave. Kite then noticed Ash glaring at him.

Kite stared back, as he continued walking away.

(Later just before the match)
(In Necro's POV)

"Hey Ash, I just talked to Paul and he said that you liked weak pokemon like that Flareon of Mine, but that you had and already have fought against Paul's failure of a Chimchar right," Ash nodded his head, I was about to speak up having seen what his Chimchar choud actually do in the gym battle? so Kite had no right at all to even call Chimchar for a failure!

"Here it's way too useless to belong to Me, like My Flareon I have no use for it?" Kite continued.

"What why you just have to use more time with Flareon I'm sure it can improve if you try besides treating it better might help as well?" I snapped making Kite laugh.

"See you at the match," Kite said before he began walking off.

(End Of Necro's POV)
(The Match)

"Alright, folks! This is it! The final matchup of Hearthome City Tag Battle competition I our warm and kind city where our hearts beat! And very soon, for their winning performance, one of our most gifted Tag Battle teams will receive the magnificent Soothe Bell!" Enta announced.

Ash and Kite stared over at Necro and Scout, who stared back. "Flareon, standby for battle!" Kite called. Flareon appeared, ready to fight.

Dawn, at the sidelines grew surprised. "Huh? Flareon again!?" Dawn gasped in surprise.

"Why Flareon is in no condition to battle?" said Shonei as he choud see tiny scratches on Flareon's body.

"I had a feeling that Kite might do that." Brock replied.

"Alright! There's only one Pokémon I want to get this job done! Pikachu your up," Ash yelled witch mead Pikachu jump off his shoulder before running over coming to a stop next to Kite's Flareon.

"Pika Pika!" Pikachu called.

"Flare!" Flareon agreed with a node.

Necro smiled, knowing that this battle will be more than just a little bit challenging.

"Well then. Bulbasaur! Ready to give it a shot?" Necro asked. "Bulbasaur!" Bulbasaur nodded her head in agreement just before she walked over to the battlefield, facing Pikachu and Flareon
Scout smiled as he took out his own Pokéball.

"It's on you!" Scout called. The fire Pokémon stood next to Bulbasaur, ready to fight. Ash saw the two pokemon, and before smiling.

"Okay. That's a surprise that Necro's is not using her Monferno... But, since her Bulbasaur is a Grass Type, so this should give your Flareon the advantage!" Ash exclaimed.

"Don't you think that I know that Ash," Kite mumbled.

"Brock, who do you think is going to win?" Dawn asked.

"We'll just have to see as the battle goes on." Brock answered.

"Alright then! Battle begin!" Enta shouted.

Necro & Scout: Bulbasaur & Ponyta VS Ash & Kite: Flareon & Pikachu

"We'll make the first move! Flareon! Use Flamethrower!" Kite shouted. Flareon unleashed his Flamethrower towards Bulbasaur!

"Pikachu! Use Thunder!" Ash called. Pikachu leapt in the air, before sending electricity towards Scout's Ponyta but all it did was making Scout smirk at this, however.

"I thought they might do that." Scout replied.

Scout nodded his head, before turning to Necro. "Shall we do it, Necro?" Scout asked. Necro nodded and turned to look at her Bulbasaur.

"Dodge it," Necro called.

"Now Ponyta Take Flamethrower for Bulbasaur, quick!" Scout yelled.

Scout's Ponyta swiftly dodged Thunder, much to Ash's surprise.

"Wow that's fast!" Ash yelped.

"Pika!" Pikachu agreed.

Ponyta went in front of Bulbasaur, and took the Flamethrower! "And Ponyta takes Flamethrower for Bulbasaur! Due to being the same type as Flareon, it barely does a single thing!" Enta commented. Ponyta's tail flared up, making his Fire attacks stronger.

"No way! Ponyta absorbed Flamethrower!?" Ash gasped.

"Alright! Ponyta! Use bull up, now!" Scout called. Ponyta glowed for a moment, before standing back up.

"Iron Tail, let's go!" Ash shouted. Pikachu leapt up to the strike with the Fighting Type move.

"Counter that with Protect!" Necro yelled.

Bulbasaur quickly put the barrier up, just before slammed into it with an Iron tail

"It's an even match between Protect and Iron tail... Wait! What's this!?" Enta started, then stopped. Suddenly protect smashed though Pikachu's Iron tail, sending him to the ground! "Amazing! That protect took down Pikachu to the ground!" Enta commented.

"Brock! How did that happen!?" Dawn asked. Brock made some thought, before coming to a guess.

"I'm not really sure Dawn," said Brock

Pikachu started to stand up, until Scout made the next move. "Ponyta! Use Curse!" Scout shouted. Ash widened his eyes at Curse.

"Curse!?" Ash yelped. Suddenly, Ponyta glowed with red light, then to yellow light.

"What did Scout just do!?" Dawn asked.

"Curse can cut half of the user's health to curse a Pokémon when the user is a Ghost Type... But, when it's not a Ghost Type. It can decrease speed, but increase Attack and defense at the same time! Scout is trying to sacrifice Ponyta's speed in order to make all his attacks stronger!" Brock explained.

"Argh! Flareon! Use Flame Wheel on Bulbasaur!" Kite yelled. Flareon flared up, attempting to hit Bulbasaur.

"I don't think so, Kite! Ponyta use Flame Wheel Flareon!" Scout shouted. Ponyta used Flame Wheel as well, bashing into Flareon's. The two clashed together multiple times.

"It's a tough match for fire against fire! Neither Flareon or Ponyta is giving an inch to surrender!" Enta announced.

"Pikachu! Use Voltackel on Bulbasaur, go!" Ash called. Pikachu charged at Bulbasaur for the Attack.

"Bulbasaur! spin then Tackle let's go!" Necro called. Bulbasaur avoided Pikachu's Voltackel before smashing into Pikachu from the side.
Pikachu yelled in pain as he was tossed into the air. "Now! Use Razor Leaf!" Necro shouted, Bulbasaur shot Razor Leaf, blasting Pikachu to the ground.

Kite gritted his teeth, annoyed by this.

"Hang tough, Pikachu get up!" Ash called

"Flareon Use Dig!" Kite called. Flareon quickly dug underground to make a surprise Attack.

"Ponyta use stomp on the ground full power!" Scout shotued.

Ash widened his eyes at this. "On the ground?" Ash asked as he watched Ponyta jump and stomp his hows hard onto the  ground, the entire ground shaking in a wide area around Ponyta, Bulbasaur barley getting out of the range in time to avoid getting hit.

Flareon was forced, and stopped from using Dig! "Oh no!" Ash gasped. Both Pikachu and Flareon gasped as well.

"Whoa! What power!" Dawn stated.

"Using that stomp with some force on the ground was a great strategy! Scout must've planned this all out with Necro!" Brock stated.

Flareon landed on th ground, panting. Pikachu was in the same situation, taking heavy hits from Bulbasaur. "Kite! If we don't start working together, we're gonna lose!" Ash snapped.

"So, what if we do!?" Kite retorted. Ash gritted his teeth and looked back.

"I don't know about you... But I'm winning his thing!" Ash shouted.

"Don't get so confident, Ash! Ponyta use Flamethrower!" Scout shouted.

"Bulbasaur! Use Razor Leaf!" Necro called. Flamethrower and Razor Leaf both hit Flareon and Pikachu forcing them to skid back to their trainers.

"Pikachu, Hang in there!" Ash yelled. Pikachu got up, ready for some more.

Flareon struggled, thought to get up. Pikachu tried to help Flareon out, but Flareon turned it's head away not wanting any help. "Iron tail!" Kite called again Flareon quickly leapt into the air for another tail swing...

"I don't think so! quick Bulbasaur! use Razor leaf once more now!" Necro yelled.

"Flareon, avoid that then use flamethrower" Kite called, Flareon quickly avoided all of the leafs from Bulbasaur before smashing him to the ground with a well placed iron tail. then wasting no time on letting out a powerful flamethrower.

"No Ponyta quick flamethrower," Scout called.

"Pikachu thunder," Ash called.

The four attacks kept colliding with each other. Suddenly, Flamethrower and Thunder managed to overpower Razor Leaf as well as the other Flamethrower! The two attacks exploded on Ponyta and Bulbasaur! The two screamed in pain as they were caught in the explosion. "No! No, Bulbasaur!" Necro yelled.

"Ponyta!" Scout called out. The smoke cleared everyone's sight as Flareon and Pikachu landed on the ground.

"Great, Pikachu! Awesome move!" Ash complimented Pikachu just looked back at Ash with a smirk in thanks. Suddenly, as the dust cleared, however the both of them were still standing!

"No way!" Ash yelled.

"And after all those attacks, both Ponyta and Bulbasaur are still standing!" Enta called.

"Great! Bulbasaur! Use tackle on Flareon!" Necro called, sighing in relief.

"This is our last chance! Ponyta! Use iron tail on Pikachu!" Scout shouted.

The two charged for Flareon and Pikachu. "Flareon! Use Flame Wheel on Bulbasaur, quick!" Kite yelled.

"Pikachu! Counter with iron tail!" Ash yelled. Ponyta and Pikachu both charged with their physical moves as well. All the four Pokémon collided, creating an explosion!

Flareon managed to overpower Bulbasaur, smashing him to the wall!

"No! Bulbasaur!" Necro gasped the feeling of tears starting in her eyes. As Flareon jumped and got away, the dust cleared, showing that Bulbasaur had fainted on the ground.

"Bulbasaur is unable to battle!" The referee declared.

"And Bulbasaur is taken down!" Enta announced.

Ponyta and Pikachu still were collided both using Iron tail against iron tail suddenly the two were both skidded back, causing them to both pant heavily. The two remained standing for a while. Suddenly, Ponyta lost his balance and fainted, by the heavy blows he took from the battle. "No... Ponyta... This can't be..." Scout stuttered.

Necro's face however darkened as she watched Scout's Ponyta fall to the ground before she fell to her knees. "Ponyta is unable to battle! The winners are Pikachu and Flareon!" The referee declared. The crowd cheered for Ash and Kite's victory, as Enta announced the results.

Ash & Kite: Winner!

"And there you have it! The victory in this year's  Tag Battle competition goes to Ash and Kite," Enta announced. Ash and Pikachu cheered as they danced around excitedly.

"Yeah! We did it! we really won!" Ash exclaimed happily.

"Pika! Pika Pika!" Pikachu exclaimed, cheering as well as Kite returned his Flareon back to his Pokéball. Ash then stood up, looking at him.

"Wow, Kite! everything just totally changed better after your Flareon got that needed boost, you know!" Ash exclaimed.

"Your so pathetic." Kite sneered. Ash and Pikachu both looked at Paul in confusion. "That Flamethrower of My Flareon should've put that
stupid and weak Bulbasaur out right on the spot, but it was still standing up! I hate to say it but if not for Pikachu's Thunder, we couldn't have won! you two deserve each other, just like I said!" Kite snapped.

"Talk all that you actually want to!" Ash retorted. Kite looked back, to see Ash rubbing Pikachu's head. "But Pikachu was awesome! I knew it! And we're gonna keep getting stronger!" Ash assured his partner laughed happily, with Pikachu smiling as well, Kite said nothing as he walked out of the battlefield.

As for Necro and Scout were both thanking their pokemon for all of their help. "Thanks, Ponyta. you were the best out there." Scout thanked.

"Ponyt..." Ponyta replied, nudging Scout's left arm with a smile.

Necro said nothing, except for taking Bulbasaur into her arms holding Bulbasaur tightly into her arms. "Well... that was some battle, wasn't it?" Necro weakly asked.

"Bulba..." Bulbasaur said sadly, moving closer into Necro's arms Necro smiled weakly while she embraced her grass type back.

(Later)

Ash, Dawn, and Brock were inside the Pokémon Center's cafeteria, looking at Ash's soothe bell. "That's great, Ash! You earned this!" Dawn complimented.

"Hey, thanks, Dawn!" Ash thanked. Dawn smiled and turned to Piplup.

"It's never fun losing a competition, but we'll win the next one, right?" Dawn assured.

"Piplup!" Piplup exclaimed, agreeing with Dawn's words.

"This was great there's been a great change of pace!" Brock chuckled.

"Hm! No need to worry!" Dawn assured. Just then, Dawn looked to see Kite.

"Oh! It's Kite." Dawn called. Both Ash and Brock turned to see Kite coming next to them.

Kite then threw his Soothe Bell at Brock, which Brock caught superised.

"What was that for!?" Ash snapped.

"I have no need for that and your Ash's friend so..." Kite snorted, walking over to Paul and walking away with him. Both Ash and Scout glared at Kite as he walked away. Ash turned to Pikachu with a smile.

Suddenly Dawn's Piplup lost balance and fell on the seat. Everyone laughed at Piplup's silliness. Then, Dawn stopped laughing to look around. "Seriously! Where is Necro? She said she would be here soon!" Dawn pouted, looking around.

"Sorry I'm late." A voice called out.

Everyone turned to see who it was. They all widened their eyes to see who it was. "Necro?"

Necro only smiled and nodded in acceptance as she walked over to Dawn and the boys "So is Eterna City where we're going next?" She asked.

"Yep! You heard it right! Necro that's where our second Gym Badge will be!" Ash exclaimed.

Necro laughed lightly, making Ash confused. "This is so like you, Ash. Always getting excited even if we're not in there yet!" Necro chuckled.

"Mon!" Monferno agreed with a fist pump in the air. Ash grew embarrassed as he argued back.

"Well, your Monferno seems pumped up!" Ash argued.

"You can say that again Ash?" grinned Scout as he watched the fire type.

The others laughed along, with Ash being bewildered by his friends. However Necro had stopped laughing for a while, and looked outside. "I'm really having fun... This journey might be the best one I've ever had... I hope I find you soon dad." Necro thought to herself, smiling at all the things that she did with the others in the past days and weeks.

"But remember guys we do also have the single competition in a week.. you guys can go ahead to Floaroma town if you want to but I'm gonna stay here and take part in it," Necro said.

"Then we'll all stay, I believe that it's in a week right?" asked Ash making Brock node his head.

"That's right and it's a straight up rule if you get to the final it's a 4 vs 4 pokemon so you have to have 4 pokemon to be sure that you're able to take part in all of the following rounds," Brock explained.

"B.. but I only have 3?" said Dawn while she rubbed her shoulder.

"Yeah Me too well 3 pokemon I mean," Necro said while she rubbed the back of her head.

"Then you girls got a week to catch a new pokemon," Scout grinned.

"But of course no need to worry," grinned Dawn.
