chapter two, dinners.
▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

Alana Stark was currently in Helaena's chambers, they were picking out dresses as the summer heat was getting to Alana even if it only had been a few hours since being here.

Alana's eyes skimmed through all the dresses, Helaena's handmaiden was showing her. There was a blue, yellow, red, and a green one.

Alana chose the blue.

"Wonderful choice, my lady." The handmaiden smiled, then passed the dress to Lysara.

Alana smiled and nodded, and looked towards Helaena. "Do you think he'll like it?" Alana questioned.

Helaena knew who he was. "Yes I think so." Helaena smiled, twiddling with her hands.

Alana nods, before rubbing her hands over the blue fabric. "Hopefully my dresses will come soon, I cannot be stealing your dresses everyday."

Helaena smiled and nodded, turning her head towards the window, the sun beginning to set. "You should get ready now."

Alana nodded and looked at the back of Helaena's head, her silver hair flowing off her shoulders.

"I will..tho I hope Aegon will like me."

Helaena sighed and turned her head to look at Alana, Helaena's violet eyes catching Alana's stare. "He will..I assure you." Helaena then smiled and turned her head back to the window.

Alana nodded to herself, before walking to the door. "See you at dinner Helaena."

Alana stared at herself in the mirror, the dress looked beautiful on her, Kings Landing definitely had more different clothing preferences. In Winterfell you had to be bundled up or frostbite would get you..but in Kings Landing the dresses were made out of silk and cotten.

"It looks beautiful on you, my lady." Lysara smiled, fixing Alana's hair.

"I know I keep on stressing about it, but I do hope Prince Aegon will like me..." Alana sighed. "When I last saw the Prince, he had such long hair..hopefully it is not that long like Prince Aemonds..." Alana smiled to herself.

"I'm sure it is not my lady." Lysara smiled, slightly tugging on Alana's brown locks.

"I miss my mother and brother.." Alana looked down at her hands, playing with her rings.

"Your mother was a kind woman..she would be proud of you." Lysara smiled, finishing with Alana's hair.

A knock rang out of her chambers, Lysara went over and opened it revealing Helaena. "Are you ready?"

"I am." Alana straightened the dress before walking towards Helaena.

"Let us go then."

Alana heart was racing again as both of Helaena's and Alana's heels clicked off the grounds. This time The King would be there, and Alana's future husband would be there if he showed.

The guards opened the door to the dining room, Alicent, Daeron, Aemond and Otto were already there but no Aegon yet again.

Alana smiled softly at them as the pair made their way to the table. Helaena sat next to Aemond, as Alana sat next to Helaena, an empty seat next to Alana.

Otto was sitting next to Alicent and empty seat next to her the Kings spot Alana assumed, and next to the empty chair was Daeron.

"Helaena. Alana." Alicent smiled, holding a cup of wine.

"My Queen." Alana nodded her head, playing with her rings on her fingers.

"You've been liking Kings Landing so far, yes?" Another voice spoke up, Otto Hightower. Alana didn't know a lot about Otto Hightower but that he was Alicent's father and The Kings hand.

"I am your grace." Alana smiled at the older man who didn't smile back.

"Good." Otto mumbled.

Alana liked it in Kings Landing so far, that was the truth. But she would like it more here if she wasn't waiting to be married off to a drunken Prince from what she heard.

Alana's thoughts were stopped as she heard the door open. "Aegon." Alicent and Otto said at the same time.

Alana turned her head to the door and saw the silver haired Prince, he had gotten handsome and his hair was above his shoulders but she could smell the wine and woman's perfumes that lingered on him as he sat next to her with a huff.

"Mother." Aegon grumbled out, almost immediately grabbing his wine glass and sipping on it.

"Aeg-" Alicent was about to scold him about his behavior infront of future wife but the doors opened revealing a maester, who walked over and spoke something into Alicent's ear before bowing and leaving, shutting the large doors.

"Apologies, The King will not be joining us tonight. He feels ill and needs to rest." Alicent nodded, before looking at the maids to bring the food in.

Alana nodded, slightly looking towards Aegon wanting to converse with him but not knowing what to say.

As The food was brought in, Aemond and Helaena make conversation with each other as the Queen, Otto, and Daeron made small talk leaving Alana and Aegon to converse to eachother.

"I hope all is well My Prince,  I didn't see you earlier today when I arrived." Alana looked back at him, fidgeting with her rings.

Aegon looked back at her, putting his wine glass down. "I was doing..things but I apologize for my absence."

"Tis alright my Prince." Alana nodded, looking away as her food was brought. It was an assortment of beef, and some greens. She grabbed her fork and began to eat as did the rest of table.

"So Lady Alana, how is your brother Cregan in with North?" Otto began, Alicent looking at her father as to stop his talking but it didn't do anything.

"Oh." Alana put down her fork. "He is well, his lady Wife just announced she was with child before I left."

"How wonderful news..." Otto nodded and looked towards Alicent. "When is the wedding again?"

"In a moon." Alicent nodded, looking at her father then towards Aegon and Alana.

Alana was not looking forward towards it, Aegon hadn't even shown to greet her and was late to the dinner, and now he smelt of wine and woman's perfume.
