Chapter 5

Aria

After leaving the Horseman, I ran home, whatever I saw scared me. I close the door behind me and keep my back to it; tears were falling down my face as I thought about what happened. I put my hand on my heart, it was beating really fast. I thought about Rider, what happened with us, I felt like I've been there before. I moved away from the door after I locked it, I don't know why but I was scared that Rider was going to find me... And get me. And there is no way in hell that Rider Crain was going to find me and come over. Right?

I took a deep breath and walk over to my vanity. I took my hair out of its bow and shake my head so my hair puffed out and fall down my back. I look at myself in the mirror, my blue eyes were red from crying, my hair was a mess from the wind and I was as pale as if I saw a ghost, which I might of. I lay my head on my vanity and just felt more tears come, the first time I saw Rider, I was drawn to him. I just wanted to talk to him, get to know him. I don't know what I was feeling when I was around him. I sit up and start to dig through my drawers trying to find the only thing that makes me feel better. "There you are." I say and pull out a small necklace with a crystal ball in a locket.

I put it around my neck and felt the magic start to work for me. I love how relax I felt whenever wear it. I don't know where it came from though; I just found it one time when I moved to this town. But it's the only thing that makes me feel relax. I sigh and move away and start to change into my nightgown sticking my necklace under my shirt so it wouldn't bother me. I walk back to my vanity and start to put my hair in a bun when I hear a bang at my door which makes me jump. I turn to my door and wait. Maybe it was just the wind, "Calm down Aria, it's just your nerves from tonight." I say myself and finish putting my hair in a bun till I heard a louder bang.

I raise my eyebrow and start to walk to the door that was not the wind. "Is someone there?" I ask. I didn't hear anything. I take a deep breath and put my ear to the door seeing if I hear anything. That's when an axe hit my door, inches away from my face. I scream and jump back as the axe pulls back and I see my door fly open as someone kicks it in. I couldn't tell who it was from the shadows but I could tell it was a guy by the build of his body. I step back as my back hits my vanity. The man starts to walk to me and I see that he has no head... I feel my legs start to give out as I try to find something on my vanity I can throw at him.

The stranger keeps walking closer to me till I find a nail file; I hide it behind me back as the headless man walks up to me and hold his axe in the air. Before he could swing I dug the nail file into his chest and ran. I know it wasn't going to do much to him but I ran to the kitchen starting to look for something, maybe a knife. As I find a knife, I quickly grab it but I feel someone grab my shoulder and spin me around to see nothing but air, where a head should be. I held the knife high and try and stab the headless man but with his free hand he grabs it out of my hand and throws it to the ground away from me as he throws me to the ground.

I feel my head hit the wall making the world around me fuzzy but I tried to keep my eyes open as much as I could. The headless man walks up to me and knees, his axe ready to swing, I feel tears come into my eyes as he raise it up. "Please..." I bag. As he grabs my shoulder making me show my neck. I close my eyes, ready to feel my faith when I feel him let go of my shoulder. I open my eyes to see him just standing there. I didn't know what was happening as he slowly moves his hand down my shoulder to my neck as he holds my locket. I look at my locket then back at him. He lets go of the locket and moves away from me.

He finally turns his back from me and starts to walk away. I slowly start to stand and follow him. I watch as he goes out the front door. I follow him and stop at the door as he jumps on a night black horse; he turns his shoulder as if he was looking at me. I feel my breath get stuck in my throat as the horse raises its front legs and squeals before it lands and starts to run off into the night that was the last thing I saw before I faint.

Rider

I feel air go into my lungs as I take a deep breath and I look down to see the ring back on my finger, along with some blood. Half of me wanted to cry, I knew whose blood it was and if I had a heart, I think it would have broken. I'm so sorry Aria. I thought as I feel something pin me to the wall. "What the hell happened Rider!?" I hear Ember scream. I look up at her, anger burning in my eyes but not as much as hers. "What do you mean what happened!? You made me kill Aria! She did nothing to you!" I yell and push her off of me. "Oh you killed Aria? Really then who the hell is this?" Ember yells and holds a head of a girl with long red hair. Her eyes are light green, screaming at me.

I feel my stomach drop, who was this girl? "I... I didn't kill Aria?" I ask as Ember throws the head into a fire. "No you killed whoever that bitch is. Why didn't you kill Aria like I asked?" She yells as a raven lands on her shoulder her violet eyes glaring at me. I see Ember look at the raven, "Hazel, on the ground." She says and I see the raven land on the ground. Ember moves her hands around till I see Hazel become a lady. "Hazel, who is that woman that Sebastian killed?" Ember asks as Hazel bows at her master.

Hazel looks at me, "My lady, Rider went to Aria's house, but he come out and rode into town." Ember looks back at me, "You went into town!?" I look back at her, "I don't know, I'm not in control of my body, you are!" I yell. Ember starts to walk close to me, I hold my ground. Before Ember or I could say or do anything, I hear Hazel clear her throat. We both look at her, "May I continue my lady?" She asks. Ember holds her glare at her before she steps back, "Continue." She hisses. Hazel nods, "Rider rode into town, and found that young lady, and he attacked her before chopping off her head."

"What do you mean attacked?" I ask feeling sick to my stomach, what did I do? Hazel looks at me, "You throw her against the wall and cut off her head sir, you killed her." I glare at her, "Why would I just random kill someone? I don't understand." Then I heard something I haven't heard for a long time, Ember laughing. I turn to her to see her lending on a wall by the fire. "What?" I ask anger hitting in my words. She smiles, "Because she looks just like your wench back in the 1600's."

I look at the ground, she was right, that girl had red hair like Blossom, just different color eyes. "But..." "There are no buts Rider, you killed her because I told you to kill your girlfriend but for some reason, you didn't!" She yells and walks over to me, "You killed a girl with red hair, and brought her head back to me." She turns away from me, "We need to figure out why you didn't listen to me." She turns her head to me, "Remember who has your heart, and your head!" She yells and points at the fire. I look to see the box that holds my heart, my freedom. But I know I can't touch it.

Rider... I hear in my head. I look around, what did I just hear? I shake the thought away, I was just stressed. Ridder I need you.... I hear again. Someone is calling me... But who? "Rider!" I hear outside of my head, I turn to Ember. "Are you listening to me!?" She yells. "I... I have to go." I say and start to walk away. "Rider! You can't walk away from me!" She yells and I feel the ring dig into my skin. But for the first time, I didn't care I just kept walking.

Whoever was calling me was stronger than Ember.
