Haechand-Donghyuk| Do you see what I see

Walking down the street you felt the need for a warm drink. Twenty, twenty-one, twenty-two. Opening the door to the cafe, the soft jingle of the wreath on the door greeted you as you entered. Walking straight forward you came to the counter greeting the cashier with a smile and a wave.

"Your usual?"

Nodding you thanked her and went to go sit in your usual seat. A medium sized cup was placed in front of you, the smell drifted up to your nose, calming you down. Your shoulders relaxed and a soft smile spread on your lips. Taking a sip of your drink, the jingle of the bells rang once again and soft footsteps came towards you and stopped at the table beside yours.

"Is anyone sitting here?"

"I don't think so"

The man pulled out a chair. Taking another sip you listened to the conversations with the other customers in the cafe. There was a conversation between a dad and his son about the importance of being kind and how it's not only for the Christmas season. Smiling you giggled as the son continued to ask questions starting with 'why'. Feeling a pair of eyes watching you, putting your cup down you wait for a little bit. The stare continues on but moves when a chair is pulled out from your table.

"What's your name?"

The man that sat at the table beside you was now sitting in front of you, staring at you, waiting for you to answer. You turn your head down towards your hands and fiddle with your sleeves.

"Y|n"

"Haechan, but you can call me Donghyuk."

Smiling you sipped your drink, not seeing the out stretched hand in front of you.

~~~~~~
"Y|n, look at all the store fronts"
Nodding you smiled as you held Donghyuks hand in yours. It's your first Christmas with him since you had met last year around this time. You hugged his arm as you walked across the street, the sound of the engines in the vehicle. It was Christmas morning, you had wanted to go walking around the city when it was really busy, you were wearing the scarf that your sibling had given you, it was extremely fluffy and warm. Feeling the cold brushing against your face, you touched the snow that was on a local bench just to the right of you. Smiling at the feeling of the snow slipping through you woollen gloves.
~~~
Sitting down you waited for Donghyuk to sit down beside you. Feeling a dip in the couch on your left you instinctively turn towards Donghyuk who grabs your hands, holding them both in his own.

"You're so beautiful"

Lifting your eyebrows, you wonder what brought this up, he's never said that to you ever.

"You're naturally beautiful, no make up or anything..."

You didn't put makeup on ever, mainly for the fact that you were incapable of applying makeup.

"And your eyes."

The smile that was once there had dropped so low you thought it would make it to the bottom of the ocean.
Moving your head to face the ground you had given up. Sighing you faced your boyfriend again, about to say something until a sharp pain in your eye cut your sentence short.

"Donghyuk, can you do me a favor?"

He hummed and waited, anxious to see if you were okay.

"Can you take out my contacts please?"

Shocked, he nodded absentmindedly. He didn't know you needed contacts. He slowly took out the first one which you had pointed to, although you were kinda pointing to your eyebrow. After taking it out, he looked around for a case to put them in when he had noticed that they weren't contacts to help you see, they were coloured contacts. Rubbing your eye, you sighed as the pain had subsided. Turning to Donghyuk again, you were completely unaware of his shocked facial expression.

"You're blind?"

You nodded slowly, explaining why and when.

"So you wear these contacts to seem more normal?"

"Yeah"

Through explaining, you had cried a little because you were made aware once again that you would never see the beautiful colours and wonders of the world, you would only be able to hear, feel and taste them.

"Why don't you wear sunglasses to save you from the hassle?"

"Have you ever seen anyone wearing sunglasses in the winter?"

Chuckling he held you closer to him. Kissing your cheeks ever so gently.

"I don't mind, you don't have to wear contacts or cover up your eyes. It just makes you that much more beautiful"

Smiling you hugged him tighter, happy that you had found someone like him. He could always make you feel better.

"And that also just means that when we are married and we live together, I can walk around the house in whatever I want and you can't get mad at me for it"

Did you figure it out before the end? I'm even sure I did it well enough.

Sorry this wasn't posted on Christmas Day. I did my best but I felt it was better if I didn't push myself to write and have it turn out bad just so I could get it up on Christmas Day. So I hope this was good.
