Meeting the seagull
Lina woke up at 1:00 and headed out looking for SM Entertainment. She didn't have her hat or mask, because at this point she was Lina Mahina Qui not Mystery. After an hour of walking around and asking for directions she was walking in the right direction with a boy named Mark. He was a trainee for SM as well.
"Why are you going to SM anyways?" He asked.
"I got street casted." Lina says putting her arms behind her back. "Although the scouting agent had to basically beg to have me sign the contract."
"Really?" He turned to her. "You must've been good then. Why'd you sign then? You had a choice."
"I made a couple conditions." A ghost of a smile flickering across her face.
He laughed out loud. "So what did you demand?"
"No girly stuff, no drastically changing my appearance, and no singing."
"I get the first two but, why no singing?"
"I sing for the people on the streets. They need hope, so I'm happy to give them some. After all someone did that to me."
"You lived on the streets?"
"None of your business."
Mark glances at Lina again suspicious, but continued to ask. "Why is your left eye all weird?"
Lina glanced at Mark cautiously. "It's blinded." She said hesitantly not knowing where this was heading.
"How'd you blind your eye?"
Lina stiffens flashbacks appear in the back of her mind. "An accident." She snapped.
Mark moves on, sensing the tension. "So where are you from? Are from Seoul?"
"The US." She stated simply trying to get out of the conversation. Lina only wanted the directions to the SM building, now she's having to reveal half her life to a stranger.
"Daebak. I'm from Canada." Mark exclaims. "Do you speak English?"
"Yeah, I know English."
"Wow so cool." They it was silent until the two reached the SM building. "It's been nice talking to you Lina." Mark commented. Lina only nodded in response.
When they arrived at the building the man from yesterday was waiting. "Hello Mystery." He said cheerfully.
"Hi." She simply responded back.
"You are Mystery?" Mark asked.
"You've heard of her?" Lina asks raising an eyebrow, a bit surprised he knew of Mystery. Lina didn't consider Mystery and her the same person. Mystery was the person who gave people hope, Lina was the broken girl who brought a knife to a gunfight.
"Yep. Lots of people talk about you."
"Great." Lina said drily and sighed. "Anyways I'm here what I do now?" The man hands her a piece of paper.
"This is your schedule Mystery."
Lina massages her temples. "Okay stop calling me Mystery. My name is Lina. Got it. I'm just a trainee not a street performer."
"Okay Lina, it was nice meeting you." He stated and left.
"Bye Mark." She said to him as she entered the building.
Lina looked down at her schedule and her eyes widened slightly. There was so much to do. Dance, rap, and singing practices took up a lot of her schedule. There was also acting and fashion classes. She only had a few breaks, and was off from 2am- 4pm. Lina shook her head, she was the one who agreed to it, and now she would have to see it through. She was a bit confused at why she had so much time off in the morning-afternoon but she didn't question it. Then, a thought popped into her head. It was school. Lina didn't attend school, so she could be Mystery during that time. Perfect.
Throughout the day Lina attended various idol classes and practices. Lina primarily stuck to the back of the room, not wanting any attention drawn to herself.
