My eyes flutter open due to the glowing of the radiant sun peaking above the nearest window. My eyes roll to the back of my head as I let out a sigh. Turning to my side, a pillow clouds my line of vision, a pillow and Torrin's face. Torrin's head is prompt upon it, his eyes closed as he inhales and exhales. Surprisingly he doesn't even drool in his sleep, which is something I wish I could say as well. Torrin has longer eyelashes than me and his nails are more fitted if that makes any sense.
My nails are short and unpolished, meaning that they are one hundred percent basic. They are unapologetically natural, but not as clean as they should be. I wasn't like other supernatural women that got their nails done every two weeks. If anything, the thought of me getting my nails done is displeasing.
Focusing back on Torrin, thoughts of us being related floats my mind. Besides us having a completely different shade of skin, we look nothing alike. Torrin's nose is high arched, while mine is wide and big. His eyes are blue, while mine is earthy brown. He's left-handed, while I'm right-handed. Us being related just doesn't add up, plus we look nothing like Rahul, well I look nothing like him. Hell, I don't even look my parents.
"Why are you staring at me like that?" Torrin asks, snapping me out of my thoughts.
I lay my head on the same pillow as him, both of us are
facing one another. "No reason. I'm just trying to figure out how we're related when we look nothing alike."
Torrin covers his mouth as he begins to speak. "There's plenty of people who don't look like one another and are still related." He says, still covering his mouth. "In fact, it's not about the looks, it's only about DNA."
My brow raises. "Why are you covering your mouth?"
"I just woke up, I have morning breath, Natasha."
"Never really thought of morning breath. But then again, I've never brushed my teeth. I've always used my spells and they keep my teeth nice and clean." My mouth opens as I show him the inside of it. "See, nice and clean."
Torrin shakes his head. "See, that's my problem with you supernaturals. You guys are always relying on magic for everything and that's not good."
"Magic is here on earth for a reason, we might as well use it instead of letting it go to waste. And for your information we can do things without magic, we just prefer using it. It's easier and isn't time-consuming. A Lot of good comes from it."
"A lot of bad comes from it as well." Torrin resorts.
"A Lot of bad can come out of anything." I resort back. "And just because you hate magic, doesn't mean everyone else needs to."
He rolls his eyes. "I'm not saying everyone else needs to hate it, I'm just saying that they shouldn't use it so much. That's just my opinion." He sits up. "I respect your opinions, so you respect mine."
I frown, before speaking. "I respect what you're saying, but you make it seem like magic is this all-time bad thing when in reality it's not." Sitting up, my back leans against the wall. Silence fills the room as me and Torrin avoid each other's gaze. "Nunc os tuum mundabitur."
Torrin frowns at me. "Did you just clean my mouth?" He questions.
"Yes." Looking around the room, my eyes land outside the window. "All differences aside, can I ask you a question?"
Torrin nods his head, leaning up against the wall. He turns to me, giving me his undivided attention. "What is it?"
"If you died, would you ever want to be brought back?"
"No." He answers truthfully. "We all have a destiny and if mine is me dying, then so be it. It's fate. And truth be told, I wouldn't want to come back. I'd rather just die and deal with it. I've been through so many things, that I'm sure I'd welcome death with open hands." He licks his lips. "That's why I didn't put up much of a fight when Garrett told me to go with you to find the stones."
"So basically, you have a death wish."
Torrin chuckles slightly. "Not a wish... just fate." He takes my hand in his and starts to play with my finger. "Why'd you ask me that question anyway?"
I let out a sigh. "Lately I've been having dreams about dying. And I know they're just dreams, but they're so surreal." My eyes close. "The thought of me dying just has me questioning if I did die, would I ever come back if there was away."
"Would you?" Torrin asks.
My shoulders shrug. "I've been alive for centuries and if I died, everything that I've done to make the world a better place will go to shit. Just by me being away from my kingdom for so long, I can sense the havoc that's happening."
Torrin frowns. "You can sense it?" He asks. "How?"
Opening my eyes, the hair on my body stands up. "I'm connected to my kingdom in more ways than one. The land where it's all built on is made from my blood. Every plant, fruit, and animal in my kingdom was created by me. The plants talk to me, they whisper when there is something wrong. Their whispers travel to wherever I may be." I explain. "The animals do everything in their power to get my attention." Letting go of Torrin's hand, I get off the bed and walk towards the ancient mullioned window. Opening it, I stick my hand out and an owl flies towards me, landing on my hand. Its eyes are dark and soulful, its face is a soft creamy-white and the tops of the wings is a rusted brown. "Which is why this big guy has been hooting all night and day," I say, showing Torrin the owl.
Torrin's eyes widen. "How the heck did an owl get into here?" He questions, worriedly. "Olympia has no such animal over here. All the animals in this world are predators, they kill animals that aren't from here."
A smirk graces my lips. "Well thank the Gods that my animals are different." Lifting up the owl, I whisper in her ear. "Send word to Yiska, tell him to stop worrying about me. I'm alright and I'll be visiting him soon." The owl twitches her head from right to left, wanting me to pat her. I pat her and she ruffs her feathers and turns her back, before flying away.
"You're incredible," Torrin says suddenly, causing me to smile.
"Thank you." Closing the window, my hands fall to my side. "Shouldn't we get ready to get back on the road or something?"
Torrin nods. "We'll leave, once Zeus gives us the word." He walks towards me, grabbing ahold of my hand. "Come on." He says pulling me towards the bathroom. Once we're in, he shuts the door slightly. "Now, I'm gonna teach you how to brush your teeth the logical way."
I glare at him. "But I don't wanna learn how to do it the logical way." I pout. "I'd rather just watch you brush your teeth."
"Where's the fun in that?" Torrin asks, looking through the cabinets for an extra toothbrush. "You can't always count on magic for everything." He says, looking at me for a moment before, going back to look. "What if one day you lose your powers? Then you won't know how to do anything."
"That won't happen."
Torrin shakes his head. "Anything can happen." Once he finds an extra toothbrush he stands up. Handing me the toothbrush, he begins instructing me on what to do with it. "Add some water onto the brush." Torrin comes up from behind me, his bare chest touching my back. My skin starts to heat up due to how close we are. "Put some toothpaste on the brush, use a pea-sized amount." I do as he says. "Now put it in your mouth and move the brush in a gentle circular motion."
"I don't like this," I say, feeling pain in my gums. "The brush is hurting my gums."
"That's because your gums are trying to get use to it." Our eyes connect in the mirror. "Let me help you." He moves closer, his groin pressing into my back. Wrapping an arm around my waist, he takes hold of my hand and begins to move it gently. "See, just like this." He whispers in my ears.
I squeeze his hand as it tightens around my waist. "You're killing me," I say, trying to keep myself together.
Torrin chuckles. "You're doing the same to me." If possible, he moves even closer. His manhood presses hard against my backside. "Now open your mouth and brush the inside surfaces." He smirks. "Remember to spend sixty seconds on each side. Use a light back and forth motion."
Closing my eyes, I press my butt into him, moving my hips slowly. "Like this?" I whisper, the toothbrush still in my mouth.
"Just like that." Torrin grunts. Removing his hand away from my waist, he latches onto my breast. "Maybe just a little bit faster."
"I was thinking the same thing." Moving my hips faster, Torrin's manhood starts to poke me. Plump lips land on my neck, his breath curling against my skin. His hand runs through my hair, as the kisses become harder and more urgent. "Get your hands out my hair before you make it knot up." Torrin chuckles, moving his hand and sliding it around my waist, before pulling me closer to his honey scented body.
He gentle kisses then suck on my earlobes. "Spit, then rinse out your mouth." Torrin tugs gently with his lips as a tingling sensation runs through my body.
Spitting out the toothpaste, I lean down to rinse out my mouth. Torrin takes this as his chance to rub up on me faster. My hands clutch the bathroom sink, keeping me balanced. Torrin moves at a faster pace, causing my head to almost hit the bathroom glass. Having enough of this, I turn around.
Our eyes connect, our breath warming each other's cheeks. We press our lips together, kissing each other deeply. "Bed," I mutter in the kiss. Trying our best not to pull away, we walk back to the bed.
Pushing my body against his, I feel him, hard, against my leg. I push him gently down onto the bed, lips locked, legs intertwined. Together we move rhythmically against each other, friction starts to build between us. A slight moan escapes me, as Torrin slides his tongue along my lips. "Fuck." He grunts, his face twitching with pleasure.
The only thing stopping us from becoming one is our undergarments. "We could be siblings."
"I know," Torrin says, not even bothering to stop moving his hips. "We should stop."
"We should." I say agreeing, but my hips still continue to move." My muscles dance under his touch. "Shit,” I breathe, "I'm so close."
"Me too," Torrin utters, pulling away from the kiss. I move my hips faster, wanting my release to come. The closer it gets, the more my body aches.
"What the hell is this madness?!" A deep voice yells, causing me to jump off of Torrin. "You both have seriously lost your minds!" Zeus's voice echoes throughout the whole room. I'm sure everyone in Olympia could here him. "Stop thinking with your bodies and start thinking with your brains. There is a possibility that the both of you are related and if you are, it means the both of you are engaging in insist activities." He yells. "Get your crap together and hurry up so you guys can be out of my site." Zeus walks out of the room, but not before slamming the door shut.
Glancing at Torrin, his expression is unreadable. "I should've never initiated this. This was a mistake." He says standing up.
Before he can even walk away, I grab onto his hand. "This wasn't your fault Torrin, and it wasn't a mistake. Calm down and let's talk about this."
"No." He says shaking his head. "This was a mistake, Natasha. Related or not, we can't do this. We can't have intercourse or feelings for one another."
"Why the hell not?!"
Torrin glares at me. "Because feelings turn into something more and once that happens, everything will be ruined." He tells me. "I've lost all the women in my life, just because of my feelings! No matter how much I try, I will always lose them." He yells. "I'm cursed! And I'll always be, so it's best that this doesn't ever happen again." Torrin says. "We need to distance ourselves from each other."
Rage boils through my body. I barely had a chance to think of my actions. I purse my lips and raise my hand back. Throwing my hand forward as hard as I can, it whips across Torrin's cheeks. The crack of skin connecting echoes through the room. My palm is bright red, the same bright red that marks the bruise forming on Torrin's face. "I'm so tired of your shit! One minute you want me and then the next you don't. The other minute you're letting me see the good in you, but then you're pulling away. Make up your goddamn mind!"
Torrin stares at me with his eyes wide as his hand slowly touches his red cheek. I should've felt some kind of guilt for slapping him, but I didn't. It felt good. "I'm making up my mind right now." He says, after a moment of silence. "From now on its strictly business between us. No jokes, no friendliness, just the stones and that's it. Once we collect all the stones we go our separate ways, forgetting that we even exist. Deal?" He questions, looking down at me.
Closing my eyes, I nod my head. "Deal."
Torrin nods, before clapping his hands together. "Let's put the past behind us. Do a separation spell."
"No!"
"Yes!" Torrin yells. "It's for the best, now do it." A separation spell would erase what we feel towards one another. "Do it now Natasha."
Glaring at him, I let out a breath before grabbing ahold of his hands. We both stare in each other's eyes. "Nullus amplius amor, nulla magis benedicere." Once the spell is over, I drop his hand. "Happy?"
"Very." Backing away from me, Torrin walks to the door. "I'll be waiting for you outside, take what you need, we leave in twenty minutes." And with that he walks out of the room, leaving me all alone.
"Fuck!" I shout once he's far enough away. A tear slides past my cheek, landing on my hand. The spell only worked on him, for some insane reason I kept all my developing feelings for him. "Why do I keep getting myself into these stupid situations," I whisper to myself.
After a moment of letting things digest, I wipe away my tears before standing up.
It was time to do what Torrin said.
Put the past behind us.
What are your thoughts?
Any questions?
