Owen, the fat worker and I descended a lift to the cage. We started making our way along the dirt path to the claw marks. I cowered at the tall trees with wide leaves that seemed to trap us in. I almost felt a presence of a greater being as we studied the marks. Owen seemed oblivious to the invisible looming, overhead presence. I was about to express my suspicions to Owen when I got a call from Claire. I could tell right away from the panic in her voice that my thoughts had been confirmed.
"It's in there with you!"was the last thing I heard before she go cut off and I heard a twig snap behind me.
"Guys... It's in here with us!" I shouted as an eye appeared between the branches. The jelly in the eye slid left and right to clear its vision. Owen and the worker span around instantly.
"Shit." said Owen. The Indominus leapt into full view and started charging for us. An Asian worker leapt from a side door with a sniper- shooting viciously. The dinosaur- hearing the pop pop pop of the gun, spun around and scooped up the soldier on its bloody jaws. I stood there in shock. I had never seen that before... I usually gather myself together but I was too far away to bring back right now. No matter how hard I tried to move, I was stuck rigid to the spot. I cursed myself, I wasn't trained to be this useless, but somethings out its aura threw me off my senses.
Everything after that was a blur. I saw the Indominus advancing towards me at full speed as Owen swung me over his shoulder. Upside down, I saw the doors of the enclosure open-stupid move. Owen made for the open gates and squeezed through them along with the remaining worker who pressed the close button. Owen laid me on the ground and rolled me under a jeep. He rolled in next to me just as the fat worker sat awkwardly behind a car near us. I heard the Indominus break through the almost closed walls and felt the vibration of the ground as it moved. Owen used his knife to cut the pipe under the car containing the petrol. I realised what he was doing and squeezed my eyes shut. He poured the petrol over me, then did the same on him. We lay in complete silence as loud thumps were heard next to us. Th jeep next to us got thrown to one side which exposed the man. An uneasy look came over his face as he anticipated the dinosaur's jaws enclosing his body. Which is what happened next. I wished I never looked... My breathing became heavy as I heard the Indominus Rex breath on us. Owen slapped a hand over my mouth. I saw the bloody teeth before I smelt the scent of blood. I knew it was there- sniffing the air for a whiff of living scent. I was sure I was going to suffer the same fate of Fat man. However, a huge wave of relief swept over me when I heard it run off into the distance. It was over but I couldn't move. Not a muscle.
