60- Yara rooting for Hritika

The minute Hritika received the message containing the loophole in the video, Hritika face palmed. She couldn't understand how she could miss such an obvious thing. That too after having reviewed the video so many times. Not wasting any more time, Hritika ran towards Vivaan and Rehyaa. Nihal and Yara took one glance at her running form, before taking off after her.

"Did you find any evidence?" Yara asked from behind.

"What evidence?" Vivaan asked with raised eyebrows, after the trio came to a stop.

"Well, you see...," Yara trailed off, not knowing how to explain. She had totally forgotten that her day out with Hritika yesterday was a secret from others.

"It's not exactly an evidence, but an observation," Hritika answered instead, making Yara sigh in relief.

"An observation that can show you that the video of elements we saw wasn't exactly true," Hritika informed them, before looking at them hopefully, "And maybe, can make you give them shelter in our pack house once again."

"Huh? Didn't Nihal check its reliability? Nihal, you said that video wasn't edited, right? It was supposed to be an actual recording," Vivaan questioned with furrowed eyebrows.

"Yeah...that's what I found out from my contacts," Nihal replied to Vivaan while scratching his forehead as he himself was confused.

Nihal then turned towards Hritika and questioned, "Was there a mistake in what our contacts informed us? And if you found the proof, shouldn't you have just publicized it. Then the elements could go back with their heads held high and wouldn't need our protection."

"I agree with Nihal. If they are really innocent then they can go back to their old lives instead of hiding here," Rehyaa said, not understanding Hritika's request to take them back in.

"What's wrong?" Yara asked in a soft voice to Hritika as she noticed her fallen face.

"What I have is not actual evidence but just an observation. This is not enough to get them out of trouble from the human authorities. But I was hoping that this would be enough for us to trust them and provide help until an actual proof comes up," Hritika answered in a resigned tone.

"What's with the sad face then? Just show us what you got," Nihal said in a soft, encouraging tone.

"Yeah go for it. We have blind trust on Hritika's observation skills," Vivaan said in a cheerful tone, encouraging her as well.

They had felt bad for not trusting her gut instincts for the first time. But they knew where Hritika's heart was set and didn't want her to make a mistake out of her newly found feelings. They all knew if it turned out to be a mistake, Hritika would regret it more than they would do for trusting her instincts. But now that she had something as evidence, they were ready to believe her, no matter how small that proof was.

"It wasn't actually my observation, but it is really something important to notice," Hritika informed them truthfully, before asking them to circle around her so she could show them the proof on her mobile.

"We have already seen the video of Neer attacking that man, Hritika," Vivaan muttered with a sigh, as he backed away from their so-called circle.

"I know that," she deadpanned, before pulling him back to the circle. "Just observe it clearly."

"Did you see Neer standing there perfectly fine after draining all the water from that man?"

"Yes...," they all trailed off unsurely.

Hritika sighed. They were right on track. She took a deep breath, before speaking again, "Complete dehydration is no easy task, right? It takes up a lot of energy."

"And Neer cannot stay upright after using so much of his powers!" Vivaan exclaimed, understanding where Hritika was trying to point.

"Exactly!" Hritika nodded.

"Apparently draining takes up more energy than creating for the twins," Yara informed what she had learned from Neer in all this time of keeping an eye on him, "In this case, Neer would have outright fainted after performing such an act. But in this video, he hasn't even shaken a bit."

They all fell silent as they contemplated what had happened. Vivaan was almost ready to believe that Neer was innocent when a thought struck him.

"Then how was this video shot? What is shown in the video is not possible if we look at what Neer can or cannot do. But this video is supposedly real...," Vivaan trailed off in confusion.

"About that...I am not exactly sure but I have an inkling about what must have happened," Hritika said, with a smile that was more sadder than the tears.

"What is it?" They all asked curiously.

"While talking to the kids—" Hritika paused when she noticed the confused looks from everyone except Yara. "The people who showed me this loophole," Hritika explained, before coming to the main topic, "They mentioned Neer's girlfriend rising up to fame and position just after the release of this video. Her sudden career growth, that too in the fictional department, seems questionable. I think this must be a fictional video, Neer must have shot with his girlfriend, which got used inappropriately. However, that's just my speculation. Reality can be something else."

"Girlfriend?!" They all yelled in shock, making Hritika wince and rub her ears.

"Did nothing else go into your mind except that part?" Hritika asked with a roll of her eyes.

Ignoring Hritika's words, Yara whispered in shock, "He has a girlfriend," before shaking Hritika's shoulders harshly and yelling, "Then why the hell are we busting our asses to help him out?"

"Because he is innocent?" Hritika answered in a questioning tone, "No?" She asked as she noticed their resigned faces.

The brothers even went forward to face palm themselves. Now that the shock had dimmed, Yara couldn't help but feel angry. Not for having wasted her time helping Hritika, but for the situation fate had put Hritika in.

"There's no way I am going to let all my efforts in uniting you two go to waste," Yara announced suddenly.

"What are you talking about?" Nihal asked his mate as he didn't know what had been happening behind their backs.

Yara cursed herself internally for letting it slip in the force of the moment. But then she sighed and informed them about all their shenanigans, before she asked everyone's help to become a cupid for Hritika and Neer.

"There's still a chance. As you said, if Neer's girlfriend actually backstabbed him then he automatically becomes single," Yara said.

"But that's just a speculation," Vivaan pointed out to his eager best friend.

"It's Hritika's speculation," Yara counter-backed fiercely, "which has more probability of things actually happening than the so-called facts."

Hritika chuckled at Yara's argument, before saying, "Seriously Yara, let it go. I have already given it up." She was grateful for Yara's efforts but this wasn't going to work out.

"Why give up so soon? At least find out the truth. What if his girlfriend has seriously betrayed him?" Yara asked with desperation.

"You want me to wish for his heartbreak, only so that I could make an entry in his heart. My feelings aren't that selfish," Hritika said with a shake of her head.

Even if it destroyed her chances, she wouldn't want Neer to be betrayed by his loved one.

"We aren't wishing ill on anybody. But what if it happens? Then it is an open field for you," Yara said.

"He would be still heartbroken," Nihal pointed out to his eager mate.

"Heartbroken but single," Yara retorted with a sarcastic smile.

"I am not going to use any tactics to make him like me. I am just going to be myself around him," Hritika said.

"However it will be totally okay if he falls in love with you for your genuine self, correct?" Yara questioned, lighting bouncing as excitement coursed through her.

"Yeah sure," Hritika chuckled, "If he actually likes me with or without the heartbreak. However, there's still one more problem."

"What now?" Yara asked, stomping her leg like a child, making everyone laugh.

"He might want to go back to the human world once his innocence is proved," Hritika reminded them, "and please don't tell me that we won't prove his innocence. I want him to stay here if he wants to and not because he is forced to," Hritika warned them.

"We weren't going to say anything like that," Vivaan huffed, but didn't meet her eyes.

"Sure, sure, I trust you," Hritika said sarcastically.

"There's one more problem," Yara piped up.

"What?" They all asked in unison.

"Ahana," Yara answered, "We all saw how protective she is about Neer. And the fact that he has probably been betrayed by his love once, is going to make her more over-bearing. She is going to watch you like a hawk once she gets even a single hint about you liking her brother."

Hritika looked at Yara with an unimpressed expression. "I thought you were trying to encourage me."

"I am," Yara said instantly, while faking an innocent look, "In fact I am helping you more by letting you know the problems beforehand so you can prepare accordingly."

"Yeah, who knows better than Yara how overprotective and overbearing these sisters can be," Vivaan said, while high-fiving Yara.

Hritika rolled her eyes at them, understanding their indirect indication.

Yara clasped her hand with glee, before saying,

"Must be fun to see Hritika standing on the other side of the sister-in-law relationship."

They ended the whole conversation on a fun note, deciding to take on the problems when they actually arrived.
