I opened the door to my house and put my bag up.

"WHERE'VE YOU BEEN YOU BRAT?" Dad yelled.

'Ah, home sweet home' I thought sarcastically.

"I've been at the literature club," I replied truthfully.

'why cant you still be away with work?' I thought.

"I KNOW WHAT TIME THAT CLUB ENDS AND YOU CAME HERE 15 MINUTES AFTER THAT!" He continued to yell.

"It's a long walk from school to here," I told him.

"NOT THAT LONG! IT PROBABLY TAKES 5 MINUTES...unless.."

'Crap..'

"UNLESS YOU WERE WALKING HOME WITH SOMEONE! SO WHO WAS IT?! YOU BEEN SNEAKING AROUND WITH A BOY?"

"No I just forgot something in my locker after the club dismissed so I had to go back and get it..." I lied starting to worry.

"You little brat..." He mumbled, "YOU'RE LYING AREN'T YOU?!"

He smacked me to the ground then kicked me a bit, "Next time you're punishment won't be so light," He told me walking away.

I laid there for a moment, not wanting to get up but not wanting to stay there either. If I just laid here he would come back and beat me up more for being weak. I let out a shaky sigh and got up.

I went to the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror above the sink. I sighed and washed the blood that found its way to my hair off and looked for some toilet paper to stop my bloody nose, but we were out. I sighed and grabbed my secret stash of makeup. Nothing special, just some cheap foundation and blush to hide my bruises. I checked to see how much was left of each product. I was going to need more foundation soon. I sighed once again and hid the makeup away again and the walked to my room and laid down on my mattress.

About two hours later dad came in, "Hey, eat your food or I'm going to throw it away,"

I sat up, "Alright,"

He twitched. 'Great he's come up with a reason to be mad even though all I did was speak.'

"What's with that voice huh? Do you not appreciate me giving you food?! DO YOU WANT ME TO NOT GIVE YOU ANY AT ALL?"

I shook my head,"No, I appreciate it.."

He smacked me across the face,"APPRECIATE WHAT?!"

"I appreciate you giving me food, thank you"

"Good," he walked away.

I wiped my nose and saw blood on my hand, 'Great...'

I walked to the kitchen and grabbed the container with my name on it. It was small, it was all I was allowed to eat. I opened it to see what scraps I'd been given this time. A few noodles, half of a fried egg, and three slices of carrot and celery. Half of a fried egg, I was a little happy about receiving this. I knew it was only because he got full so he wasn't able to eat this bit of food that I got it and not because he loved me or anything, but that didn't matter. I sat down on the ground and ate, trying not to drip blood onto the food. I got up, washed the container, and grabbed my pain killers from my closet. I looked at the container..

'You could end it Natsuki..' A voice in my mind whispered.

'You could make all your pain end forever...'

'Just take them all, and then eternal rest..'

'No more of your father..or fear...or being so very weak...'

'Take them Natsuki...all of them..'

I dumped a handful of pills into my hand..'Am I really going to do this?'

'That right! Good job! Now take them!'

I opened my mouth but soon closed it, hesitating.

'JUST TAKE THEM! END IT ALL! NO MORE WORRIES, NO MORE ANYTHING! THAT'S WHAT YOU WANT! SO TAKE THEM ALREADY!'

'No more anything..?' I thought as I opened my mouth and lifted the handful of pills closer. 'Eternal sleep..'
