The Lost Library

As I was strolling to Bibliotheca Alexandria, I wasn't scared of someone calling the cops. Everyone was keeping there distance. Little kids were staring. Behind me, Spot was riding on Max. They both looked like they were having the time of their lives.Their tails were wagging at what looked like 120 mph. Even though Max didn't look nearly as scarey as he did at the kennel, people were still intimidated by his large size, and having Spot on his back didn't help their fascination. Max stopped, dead still. I could get him to budge. When I went close he put his neck down. So I climbed up with Spot on my head, just as it seemed he wanted me to. As soon as I was on his back, he charged full speed. He was going faster than anything I'd ever seen. His tail seemed slow in comparison. It was the best thing ever, and Spot seemed to be enjoying it more than me. We had all ready Bibliotheca Alexandria when Max saw a cat sitting on a perch on the side of the building. He jerked so fast Spot fell of my head. That was the scariest moment in my entire life. I reached out and grabbed him just before he touched the ground. The then spotted Max and ran through an open sewer entrance. Max did a flamingo dive. Throughout the sewer Max did so many twists and turns I thought we would never find our way out. But suddenly, the wall seemed to disappear. To our right was the Lost Library of Alexandria. But Max didn't seem to notice. He just kept run after the cat. I jumped of his back with Spot to get him to notice that I wanted him to stop. He still ran a little ways but the next time the cat took a turn he just barked after it and trotted back. "Wow," I said. I've never had an ecstatic about history or the mysteries of the world but I still marveled in wonder at the sight of all the knowledge. It was three levels of about a half an acre per level. There were nine pillars of a fancy circular book shelf with a winding staircase leading down to the first two levels attached to the center most pillar. We were at an entrance to the third floor. My astonishment was short because just then an elevator came down through the roof. It came through right at the center most point of a pillar and left a flower design of books, I'm covered in them, on the second and third floors, AND nine black Sedans burst through the sewer entrance I came through! Can't things go right for me for more than a couple minutes! Which one would be the most obvious danger? I'm an arm's length away from both the crashed elevator and the closest sedan. A swarm of full grown men are out of the sedans with weapons ready so I took cover behind the elevator. I absolutely panicked when several guns and magazines dropped through the elevator shaft followed by two, black repelling ropes. I grab two of the guns, one in each hand, and reach around the elevator and let out a stream of bullets. Before I can fire a total of a magazine, I see the glowing, orange illumination of fire and duck back behind the elevator. Right as my head gets behind the elevator, a stream of it rushes past. Are they insane!?! They brought a flamethrower into a library with all the most expensive books in the world! I hear a whirring sound and look up. I see two figures repelling down the sides of the shaft, one smaller then the other, obviously in a hurry. Am I the reason they're in a hurry? I don't want to find out. I shoot at the bigger target first and let out almost all the bullets I had left in the loaded magazines in a stream of bullets towards the flamethrower while I waited for the other's response. I looked back up in time to see something wet hit my forehead. It wasn't blood, I didn't know it but there was the blood in a puddle to my left, it was a tear the only tear to come. Then I heard an unmistakable war cry, V's war cry. Out of mad panic, I shot my last three bullets, and the third one went dead down the barrel of the flamethrower. I flew into the opposite wall, twenty feet away, and fell to the floor. My last thought before blacking out was "Is V okay?"
