"Gabriel I am perfectly capable of-"
"Enough of that!" The tall man cut her off. "I know that you're lying!"
"Well even if I am, I want to find Adrien! I want to save the twins and I-"
"-Nathalie." he interrupted her once again. "I know." Gabriel took his assistant's hands into his. "I want to do the same." His words were calm and slow, as if this whole chaotic situation wouldn't have bothered the grey-haired man at all.
For a moment the woman couldn't even understand how one could not be as overwhelmed as she was.
Nathalie's whole world was spinning; her eyes blurry from tears which had begun to form just a few seconds ago, her whole body shaking from the cold and the terrible effects of the miraculous, almost making her faint.
"Nathalie!" Her superior's voice brought her back.
"Y-Yes?" She shook her head.
"You looked so lost for a second. Are you alright?"
"Y-Yes, o-of c-course." She lied.
"Alright, then we're going back home."
"What!? No!" She exclaimed weakly, but desperately trying to fight off the arms off her superior which already had a strong grip on her. "I thought that if i say I am fine I won't have to go back to the mansion! Wasn't that why you asked?!"
"No. I asked to know if we could leave, so you wouldn't just pass out before I pick you up."
"That makes no sense!" Mayura spat to which her partner simply chuckled while he picked up the (compared to him) powerless woman.
"Well, I wasn't planning on winning a Nobel prize with it." He smirked, hoping to shift the tone onto a lighter, funnier conversation, however his assistant wasn't on the same wavelength as him with that idea.
"Let go of me!" The woman hissed, twisting and turning, trying to press her nails painfully into the man's arms which enclosed around her.
Nothing.
Hawk Moth didn't budge.
Sure, it hurt him a bit, but what would've hurt much more would've been loosing his assistant.
The grey-haired man knew she needed rest, so Gabreiel was going to take her home and give Nathalie just that.
Nevertheless, although he was stronger, Mayura took her opportunity to try and be louder than her superior.
So, all of a sudden she began to shout;
"Help!" Her voice screamed. "Someone help! I'm being kidnapped!"
"Shut up." Hawk Moth only murmured, thinking his assistant would eventually exhaust herself with this tantrum.
He was right.
In a few minuted Nathalie had nothing left to scream.
"Finally." The grey haired man said as his partner went quiet. "Those were the longest five minutes of my life."
"Oh that must've been a lot for you." The woman spat, her eyes piercing him.
"For you too." Gabriel grinned, somehow not allowing Nathalie to have the upper hand and getting away with it perfectly fine. "You seem more exhausted than ever darling."
"Shut up!" Mayura hissed, her tone fighting for some kind of victory, but her body now accepting the fact that she wasn't going to have things go her way.
"That's what I was begging you to do too, yet you didn't."
"Well your voice is much more painful to hear than mine."
"Keep telling that to yourself, it might put you into a nice sleep by the time we're home!"
Nathalie frowned. "You know you're just making fun of my sickness which you have caused upon me!" Her words were filled with anger. "So, you should feel at least a little bad."
"Excuse me, but who is trying to take you home?" The man's tone became sassy. "Who is trying to help? Who is trying to get you to rest? That's right! Me."
"I hate you Gabri-"
"Hush." His hand hands covered her mouth. "I said no. Plus, don't use that name."
In the meantime the situation for the blond boy who the adults had been looking after was getting more and more tense.
Once again he happened to find himself in London, looking for a family member to help.
While Chat Noir was using the power of his kwami, Plagg couldn't really make any comments of how stupid Adrien's actions were, but deep down the blond boy knew that as soon as he'd turn back into his real self, he'd be lectured.
Despite this annoying thought that stuck in the back of his mind, the young hero kept looking through the city in order to find any slight hits as to where his sister might've lived.
Adrien remembered that when he had last talked with Felix, he was told how Alice had decorated her house.
Though his cousin didn't share many hints on the exact location, from the imagery of his words, Chat Noir at least could narrow down his searches to houses that fit the description.
Surely he'd be able to find her in time, right?
Would something stand in his way?
The blond boy was anxious with worries like these.
Not only was he in a rush, but he was also in a mess he created for himself.
Naturally, chaos could only unfold more and more in a situation like this.
The only issue was that the teenager didn't know what would go wrong and where.
Or how to fix it.
The hero shook his head to try and erase all the distractions as he came across a building that looked awfully a lot like what he had figured Alice's house would be.
He only had to get closer to make sure.
So, with the help of a deep breath Chat Noir jumped from a higher house's top to get a better view.
The blond boy quietly manoeuvred himself around the building to have the chance of looking inside one of the windows; and when he did, Adrien gasped.
He saw his sister in a hurry; grabbing a cluster of keys and heading towards the door while some tall silhouette followed her.
Quickly, the blond boy transformed back into his real self and without any further hesitation rushed to the other side of the house where Alice had opened the door to exit.
"Wait!" Adrien shouted before considering how terrifying this would be for his sister.
The woman screamed as someone jumped in front of her. "What the hell!" She tried to catch her breath. "W-What are y-you doing here?!"
"I came to help!" The boy tried to ease the situation with a smile, but Alice's mood only seemed to get worse.
"Are you out of your mind?!" She screamed, both angry and still shocked from what just happened. "T-This is crazy! I-I mean how did you even get here?!"
"That's not important-" Adrien tried to say, but he was cut off by a male voice.
"-I think that's quite important." It was now Martin who frowned at the kid. "It is very dangerous what you're doing and you could've gotten in serious trouble!"
"Exactly!" The blonde woman agreed with a nod.
While both adult made the teenager feel as if he was a toddler, Adrien could do nothing but sigh; he wanted to be appreciated for his efforts to help, not lectured.
"Calm down." The boy mumbled under his breath as his eyes stared at the floor awkwardly. "I'll be 18 soon." He tried to be reasonable. "Plus, I was only trying to help-"
"-What do you think your dad will think of this?!" Martin cut him off.
Now Adrien had enough; someone who wasn't even related by blood to him wasn't going to tell him what to do or how to feel.
"Oh you stop it!" The kid's voice shouted, his eyes in an instant staring straight at the two adults. "My father doesn't even like you, Martin, so you have absolutely no place to tell me about anything my dad will do!"
The tall brown haired man gasped.
Never in a million years would've he expected Adrien Agreste to stand up like this against him.
"I might be doing stupid and irresponsible stuff right now like running away from Paris, but I came here to help you! I am risking being grounded for the rest of my life just because I know how stressed you two are and I want to help! I am being a good brother! I know I am!" As the teenager finished yelling his stenence, his voice began to break down and tears built up in his eyes. "I want to help you two because the thing I am most sensitive about is family, so I know how awful it must feel to have someone you love split away from you!"
The adults were speechless.
They could simply watch as the young boy in front of them broke down into heavier and heavier tears.
"I've been isolated from friends all my life and I was told that family is the most important thing!" Adrien started again, his whole face red while tears streamed down from both of his eyes and fell onto the ground like rain. "I've been told that what was most important in my life was already half-way stripped away from me because of my mother's passing. The other half was meant to be there, but father never felt the same after mom was no longer alive."
"Adri-" Alice was about to say as her own eyes started to water, but she was interrupted.
"I know you went through it too. I won't say my childhood was worse than yours because I am in no position to do so. However, something I can say is that I know we were both raised to believe that to begin with we only had a half of what was most important. We were never full. We were never meant to be empty either, but that's what it felt like. So, I don't want to be reminded of what the man who slightly raised me might think of how I turned out and what I am doing."
Words could not express what Alice felt in that moment; she had dropped her keys and pulled her brother into a tight hug.
"Oh Adrien." She sobbed. "I was just worried for you." Her words were barely audible. "I-"
"It's okay." The boy whispered; focusing to appreciate this heartfelt hug.
Martin was crying at the sight of this.
It was so perfect.
Plus, the tall brown haired man cried at most things even just slightly 'sweet', so this had him in a lake of tears.
"Alright," Alice took a deep breath as she pulled away from her brother. "I-I think we should-...go now..." Her eyes were directed at the floor and her words shaking as she spoke.
"Go where?" Adrien questioned.
"Go do what you came here for."
Suddenly, at these words from the blonde woman, the teenager's eyes lit up.
He was more than ready to help.
"Okay!" Adrien replied enthusiastically as he followed the two adults to their car.
He wasn't exactly sure what he was going to be helping in or how he was going to help, but needless to say he wanted to be involved.
Despite knowing what his parent would say and what they were saying as of right now, the blond boy sat in one of the back seats of his sister's car.
"We're going to the club." Alice announced as she sat behind the wheel, her voice still having a tremble to it, but her eyes staring fiercely forwards. "We're going to meet the 'whole' family."
Martin gulped awkwardly while he turned his head back to face Adrien for a moment.
"I don't even know what that really means and I'm married to her, kid!" The tall man whispered. "So this is your warning; things are about to be crazy."
To be continued-
I am so sorry for the long wait.
To be honest I thought not many people liked this book, but it really made me happy to see that I was wrong.
Thank you❤️!
