"Nathalie I'm sorry!" Gabriel desperately shouted.
He wanted to get the woman to stop, at least take a breath, however, his assistant didn't hesitate to turn her back to him.
Then, she simply continued her determined walk towards the office.
"Nath!" The man's voice once again begged. "Please look at me! I'm sorry! Forgive me! Calm down and don't-"
"-Do anything too quick while my emotions get the best of me?" She finished his sentence while facing him in frustration. "Is that what you wanted to say?"
Slowly, a couple of tears began to appear in the dark-haired woman's eyes.
She could feel it, her boss could see it.
He reached out his hand to try and wipe those mean water droplets away, but Nathalie was faster;
She turned away.
"Leave me alone Gabriel! I want to find Adrien!"
"Me too, but it's not good to make decision in such a state."
"Oh how damn ironic that you're the one educating me on this topic." Nathalie spat, turning back in the direction of her boss while the rage visibly burned in her eyes.
She had more than enough of her superior's bullshit and didn't even think about holding back her anger.
The woman had done so for way too long.
Now she was going to give the tall man a piece of her mind;
"As if you wouldn't have fucked your wife the second you saw her again while lying straight to my face about how much you love me! Thanks a lot, sir." She glared through him, disgusted. "I'll take your great, wise, lovely advice."
"Nath."
"Fuck you, Gabe! Fuck you and fuck that stupid part of my heart that loves you!"
With that, the assistant slammed the office door right in the face of her soon-to-be husband.
It felt as if the entire mansion would've shaken, and Gabriel himself had never felt worse than he did in that moment.
Everything he did wrong or had been blamed for all began to eat him alive.
"Nathalie!" his voice cried out, but she didn't answer.
The woman on the other side of the door squeezed her eyes shut, trying to forget what she said and what she was about to do; which was to get back Adrien through Mayura's powers.
As much as it would hurt her it was going to be worth it.
Adrien was the main reason as to why she had still put up with Gabriel and why she couldn't leave this family, it was almost all of him.
Almost.
Of course, a part of Nathalie's heart had Gabriel deeply engraved in it.
It was no secret that for a long time she had loved and admired him despite the fact that he'd been married previously.
However, once the dark-haired woman actually had the chance to love the so-called man of her dreams it wasn't absolutely perfect anymore...
"Nathalie!" Now he shouted at the door again. "Please I...I didn't mean for all this to happen. I apologize for everything. I swear I-"
"-Don't swear, don't promise anything." She mumbled under her breath which trembled as she sniffed away her forming tears. "Men are terrible at keeping promises. I'd rather be disappointed knowing it was meant to happen than getting my hopes up and then crushed."
"Nath." Gabriel sighed, his heart breaking into more and more millions of pieces with each second passing by. "Don't say these things. Just let me make it right and let's find Adrien together ."
"No!"
"No?"
"No, I don't want your help!" The assistant exclaimed. "You've helped enough! Now let me take care of it."
"B-But your miraculous is broken!" The grey haired man stuttered. "Y-You're hurt, e-emotional. This won't end well!"
Nathalie didn't answer.
Gabriel pushed the door open with all his strength to find his assistant already gone as the elevator to his secret lair just slipped out of his vision.
"Nathalie!" the designer yelled while he rushed over to Emelie's painting.
He hurriedly pressed all the secret buttons and desperately waited for the elevator to come back, but as it did, no one was present inside.
"Fuck." Gabriel spat before quickly jumping inside and hoping he'd get to his lair before it was too late.
He prayed that he could stop his assistant from whatever madness she had planned.
However, that plan almost immediately broke to pieces since once again the grey-haired man happened to find nothing awaiting him.
It was almost painful to look at the butterfly window open which showed Mayura's escape clearly.
The designer was terribly mad at himself and his stupidity which let this situation escalate to such a point.
He should've taken better care of his fiancée and should've watched out for Adrien too.
Now both people who he held dear to him were gone.
Gabriel was left all by himself to find the solution for this big chaos and something he had never been good at was being alone.
"What am I going to do Nooroo?!" The tall man cried, burying his face in his palms.
He thought that his butterfly friend would reply something useless along the lines of "There's always a way to solve mistakes."
Except; just quite the opposite happened.
Instead of being kind or using his usual low voice, the small kwami actually decided to speak up.
"Maybe what you should do is go after her!" Nooroo spat. "That would be the most logical!"
"I-"
"If you simply decide to stay here and complain whilst not doing anything of course it's going to look like the end of the world! But you have some control over this situation, you can still save it, Master!"
Gabriel sighed; "You're right."
He took a deep breath in, gathered all his remaining hopes and power in order to say those transformation words which casted a purple shadow all over him.
In the meantime Nathalie as Mayura was already on her way.
Although tired and weak she was running at full speed in order to achieve what she really wanted; finding Adrien.
She didn't know exactly where he could be since the teenager left without a trace and with no explanation left behind.
Mayura thought long and hard about all the possible explanations as to where Adrien would've liked to flee.
He could've ran away all by himself to potentially escape the Agreste Mansion which had been getting quite toxic as of late.
On the other hand the teenager could have also been kidnapped.
For all she knew which wasn't much maybe the boy had a friend who influenced him in leaving.
Nathalie's head began hurting as she skimmed through all of the options; there were so many and she had no way of knowing which one was correct.
The exhausted woman paused for a moment, taking a deep breath in as she tried to slow down her mind and grab onto something in order to balance herself properly.
Mayura felt awful, she felt like she was on the verge of passing out; her vision blurry, her fragile body shaking in the strong blow of the wind and her brain foggy from all her worries.
The peacock miraculous was truly damaging her more and more badly through every minute that passed.
She had barely gotten anywhere from the Mansion, but the dark-haired woman already felt as if she couldn't have gone any further.
Nathalie was not strong enough.
Just in that very second where she felt she was about to collapse on the top of a scarily large building, from where her unconscious body could easily slip off and be thrown right onto the busy road of Paris which showed no mercy to any living thing, Mayura sensed a pair of hands secure around her.
"Are you okay?" A male voice asked.
The woman felt paralyzed to say anything, so she simply allowed her weak self to rest into the hold of this person by laying her back against his chest.
In her mind she thought that maybe that way she wouldn't have to make eye contact with the familiarly sounding man.
However, Nathalie couldn't have been more wrong, because in less than a second the black gloves which this person had on grabbed down the arms of the dark-haired woman and spun her around so that she would now face him.
"Sir." Mayura sighed, feeling defeated. "I was doing just fine-"
"Yea right!" Hawk Moth cut her off. "Perfectly fine indeed until you would've fainted! I know you're not strong enough to do this and you are aware of that too! This is dangerous for you Nath! I simply am concerned for you."
Now Gabriel's one hand slid to the back of his assistant while the other was still stabilizing her by holding onto her arm.
With the hand on her back, he pushed her a little closer to himself so that the dark-haired woman's chest would be laid against his.
In that moment the designer took the opportunity to wrap his arms tightly around Mayura and like that hug her.
"I don't want you getting hurt." He whispered while his face was buried deeply in her hair.
"Gabriel I wasn't going to be injured, you're too dramatic!"
"No!" He exclaimed, pulling them apart fastly and once more grabbing the two arms of the assistant so that he could make her stare directly at him. "I know how you act when you're mad and determined! I know you would've tried to find Adrien if it meant destroying yourself. I admire this motivation of yours, but I also deeply admire you in the sense that I love you and won't let anything happen to you! So I won't allow you to mindlessly search for our boy and to carelessly use that awful peacock miraculous!"
