"Gabriel." Nathalie smiled as she ran her fingers through the hair of the man who's head was resting on her stomach and from there looking up at her.
"Yes love?"
"Don't you think it's funny that we never got ready?"
"Well" he chuckled "we were too busy."
"With each other, yes."
Hearing that had gotten a blush to spears all across the grey haired man's face who simply thought back to a few moments ago.
He very much enjoyed every single minute that he spent together with Nathalie and wouldn't have changed anything at all about them, except to occasionally make it last longer.
"I love you, you know."
"I am pretty aware, yes." The woman grinned as her fingers brushed along the man's scarlet cheek. "But thank you for telling me again."
"You're welcome, love."
He hasn't called her this much, which caught Nathalie totally off guard.
Her eyes widened as she gasped in realization.
"What's wrong?" Gabriel's calm whisper immediately changed to a concerned voice. "What happened Nath?"
"I-I-I nothing. I'm fine." She breathed, still unevenly "Don't worry about me."
However the man had already gotten up from where he was laying and now sat beside her, holding his fiancée's trembling hands while she herself calmed down.
"Are you sure you're okay? You seemed to have thought of something rather scary. It made you jump a little."
"I-I k-know...but don't worry it wasn't something bothering me...it was just...you don't very often use 'love' as a way to refer to me, except as you did now I-...without a warning the thought that you proposed to me and we're engaged sunk in. I-I-...we're together, finally, at last we don't have to hide it all."
"Precisely my love." He smirked as he connected their lips "And now I guess I should use that word more often whenever talking about you."
The assistant's cheeks blushed vibrantly of the color red.
"Gabriel stop it!" She felt his hands let go of hers and instead travel to her waist where they pulled her in front of him, then later onto him.
So now in a sitting position, she was on her superior's lap while he laid his back against the frame of the bed.
"What? Don't you like it?" The designer teased, obviously getting the dark haired woman worked up.
"I really did think that you-"
"Oh shut up-" she grabbed his face and unexpectedly forced their lips together for a painfully quick moment "It is only that-...maybe after all we should get out of bed today. Regardless of the fact that we won't work-"
"-All that instead of staying behind in the warm, cozy comfort of our bed." He cut her off weeping with an upset glare.
"Our bed?" Nathalie repeated the unfamiliar words. "Not only yours?"
"Didn't you realize a second ago that we're engaged? Almost married my love."
"Oh Gabriel!" She giggled childishly "You're too adorable when you say that!"
"Engaged?"
"No. Almost married!" She there her arms around his neck and pulled herself tightly against him. "You don't even know the feelings I'm feeling."
"I could say the same thing to you." The grey haired man smirked after he leaned back and like that had his fiancée's full attention on his face.
"Gabriel!"
"Nathalie!" He whined the same way, rolling his eyes as he tilted his head against the bed frame. "It's you making me like this."
"Right, funny how you were so reluctant to do this in the beginning, but look at you now. Wanting it all over again."
"I always want you. Earlier I just wasn't sure if it was the right time for you yourself to be doing such things, so I hesitated. However, now I wouldn't doubt anything, not even for a second."
"Mhm really?" The assistant began to lean close to him "So if I told you right now that I really hated you-" she kissed him "-and wanted you dead-" Nathalie smirked taking a holding of his face which had a pleading look all over it. "-would you still not doubt-"
"-fuck I'd let you kill me, in fact I'd let you do anything and everything you'd like to me."
"Anything?" She quirked her eyebrow.
"And everything." He reassured "I only want to be in your presence, nothing else."
"Oh you're so cute."
"Tell me more."
"Later." She broke his heart with that one word. "First let's at least say hi to your son."
Nathalie got up from their bed which further pained her fiancé, but she had a point, they did need to get up a little bit.
After all they haven't even gotten breakfast or lunch. Neither have they thought about preparing dinner.
So it was about time that they'd do something.
Sighing in an exhausted manner the grey haired man pushed himself out of bed and followed after his assistant who made her way to their bathroom.
"Love can we make this quick please?" Said he walking behind his fiancée with a tired and drained expression.
"What?" She sprung around to face her boss "Saying hi to Adrien?"
"Yes! All that! I want to be-"
"Oh Gabriel don't be so lazy! We'll have time for ourselves at night, but for now please be able to handle a few hours with your kid. He needs you."
Groaning the man before her agreed in a low voice "Okay, fine."
"Don't say it like that!" Nathalie still wasn't pleased. "Be more enthusiastic!" She grabbed onto his shoulder and stared into her superior's soul with a piercing glare.
"Okay!" The designer corrected "Let's go!"
"Good." She smiled "Now that's what I like to hear."
Having said that, the assistant's hands slipped off of Gabriel's shoulder and in a blink of an eye she turned back to finally take one more step in order to enter their bathroom.
There the woman took a hold of a towel and covered herself up with it before reaching for a toothbrush.
Her fiancé did the same, following along every step that Nathalie did.
Carefully turning the tap so the water began running, then for a quick second placing the toothbrush under the water after it had already gotten a bit of toothpaste on it.
Taking that toothbrush now and placing it in their own mouths, the two adults smiled at one another in the mirror.
"Heeeey." A very muffled giggle came from the young woman as she stared at her superior's reflection "You look funky!"
"So do you!" The designer responded with toothpaste now all over his face and slowly running down his chin. "Ah fuck." He cursed as that mixture of toothpaste and his saliva fell further down onto his chest. Though luckily for Gabriel, he wasn't wearing a shirt so he could easily get rid of the stain.
The grey haired man even reached out his hand to sprinkle a bit of water onto it, except in the process his wrist got grabbed by his fiancée's hand.
"I'll get that for you." Nathalie smiled and instead got water in her hand "There there." She smirked while her hand brushed along her boss's chest "You're all clean now."
"Oh Nath if you keep doing this I swear-"
"Remember the dinner with Adrien!" The assistant's hand withdrew immediately.
Having a destroyed expression yet again, the designer never seemed to get enough of the dark haired woman in front of him who was acting very dangerously as of right now.
The assistant was daring to say the least with her actions, but her superior didn't hate it, in fact.
"Okay!" Her cheering voice brought him back "Get dressed quickly and take your kid downstairs!"
With that Nathalie stepped out of the bathroom leaving her fiancé all by himself.
Nevertheless he couldn't waste much time pondering there with sad thoughts, so the grey haired man rushed after her and eventually, after a short while the adults had gotten dressed.
A comfortable attire was what they chose, in that they made their way outside into the mansion's main space.
Like explained before by Nathalie, Gabriel was the one to check up on his son while the assistant decided to begin with dinner.
"Adrien!" The designer knocked "May I come in?"
"Father?" A quiet voice answered back "Is something wrong?" The blond boy opened his door unexpectedly fast.
"Wrong? What? No!" Gabriel awkwardly stuttered, unsure of how to format his following sentence "I-we-me and Nathalie-Nathalie and I-...uhm...we wanted to invite you for dinner!"
"Oh, like a family?"
"Yes! Like that! A-and if you'd like you can come downstairs now to help us cook."
"Sounds good." Adrien innocently smiled as he closed the door behind himself and was now out on the corridor, alongside his dad.
"Okay great, then...shall we?"
"Sure!" Enthusiastically the teenager made his way to the bottom floor, everything seemed to be in favor of his positive mood today. Well, everything except his father's rather weird behavior, that got the boy a bit concerned. Maybe he was just nervous to have a family dinner, after all that type of stuff wasn't so common in their house, or perhaps
some other issues bothered the designer which made him act strangely. Either way Adrien couldn't think much of it before he got greeted by his step mom who joyfully smiled.
"Hey you two!" Nathalie exclaimed as she hurried to hug the teenager and then afterwards her fiancé.
"How has your day been Adrien?"
"Pretty good." the kid smiled "Yours?"
"Just as good."
"I bet." He smirked, slowly giving a grin to both of the adults in the room who looked together confused before realizing with an awkward blush.
"Anyways!" Exclaimed Gabriel in order to change the subject "What should we make for dinner?"
"Adrien? What would you like?" Nathalie added turning away from everyone so she'd have a moment to calm down the redness on her face. Or she would've if her fiancé wouldn't have followed in her exact steps to now grip onto the edge of the counter and share the same embarrassed look with her, all while still blushing crazy.
It was such a sight. To see the two work partners attempting to hide their flustered face from the truth and from the child who was right behind them smirking wider with every second gone by, fully knowing what his 'parents' were thinking.
"I'm not sure" said the blond boy, interrupting the silent few moments "maybe spaghetti" he suggested slyly "and I'll get some candles, set you two a table-"
"Okay Adrien, pasta it is then!" The grey haired man once again loudly exclaimed to hush his kid's words which always seemed to have increased the tension.
"So should I get the candles-?"
"NO! No please no! J-just sit down o-or help me and Nathalie cook."
"Okay!" The boy rolled his eyes dramatically, but to be honest he had to admit that he did go a bit far there.
All the teasing maybe wasn't exactly so funny to his 'parents'. So Adrien agreed with himself that he'd put away that type of humor the best he could, though that wouldn't be easy.
Nevertheless the blond boy made his way closer to the two adults who by now had more or less collected themselves.
However, before Adrien could've even asked what he should've helped with, the house phone rang.
That was strange.
The house phone was usually used by Gorilla and Nathalie in the past when they'd discuss Adrien's schedule and where he would have to be driven. Except now as none of that business needed to be taken care of, everyone got scared.
"Should I get it?" The kid looked up at his father beside him who just shook his head in an unsure manner.
"Don't worry." Gabriel mumbled "I'll get it."
With that the designer carefully let go of the edge of the counter which he was gripping so firmly just a second ago, and made his way out into the main hall area.
"Weird" he thought to himself reaching down to grab and answer the phone.
"Hello?" The grey haired man questioned. "Who's calling?"
"It's Alice dad! I need help!"
