After an exhausting night of dancing both adults arrived home absolutely drained from their energy.
Thankfully though there was nothing left to be done, they'd only need to simply get into their pijamas and then go to bed.
Or at least that would've been if the paparazzi wouldn't have completely invaded the mansion after seeing these two "work partners" dance and even kiss together.
The public didn't know anything about Gabriel's and Nathalie's relationship, therefore the great majority considered this as an affair and nothing else.
But it wasn't.
It was "truly" love, or at least for Nathalie it was. However for her partner it was a more complicated feeling which caused him to be unable to tell the public about their current "relationship".
And if it wasn't for his assistant's loyalty then she should've been long gone by now.
"What do you mean you can't just say it?" She shouted "We're dating! You told me yourself! You even told Audrey! Y-You-...ARE YOU LYING TO ME GABRIEL?!"
"N-no n-never!!" The man replied with a shaking voice which didn't sound so certain, in fact, Nathalie considered it rather uncertain and unclear, almost as if by this he was hinting that he still had some strings attached to his old wife.
"Then what?! Then why are you so afraid to tell everyone that we're together?"
"I-I-...I d-don't know! I-I'm afraid everyone will turn on me a-and h-hate me!"
"B-because you love me everyone would hate you?"
"I-I-"
"Is the public's opinion more important than me and this relationship?"
With that everything went quiet in the room and suddenly the dark haired woman could see that the so called "love of her life" absolutely betrayed her.
"Seriously Gabe?" She cried now "You really don't care about me do you?!"
"No-no-no!! I do! Nathalie believe me I-" But it was already too late to save the conversation now.
Every time the designer would try to get closer to his girlfriend she'd smack his hand away or even just give the man a hateful glare which would be enough to scare him off.
"Please Nath I-"
"No! Hush you liar! Y-you t-totally b-betrayed me! Y-you set me up, as if I was your little toy or what not! Y-you basically played me!"
"I-I didn't-"
"YOU DID!" The assistant screamed back fearfully "You did" she repeated once more, less enthusiastically "....you did..." she came to an end, sadly.
And now Gabriel couldn't do anything to save his skin. Now he was the main villain who both lied to his girlfriend and to the public.
Now he was the reason why everything fell apart.
So before he knew it the door slammed shut and his beloved Nathalie was out, going to the man who she knew would never ever leave her.
-
Martin
-
"Martin! May I come in?" Asked the assistant as she somewhat aggressively knocked on his door, before earning an exhausted sigh noise from behind the piece of wood, and then soon finally seeing the brown haired man himself, who as of right now seemed to be in a big rush.
"What are you doing?"
"Packing." He dryly replied and then walked off to search for something.
Nevertheless Nathalie wasn't repelled by his weird behavior, instead she stepped more in to the room and then carefully shut the door behind herself.
"Wh-"
"Why did you come? Is something wrong? Are you hurt?" Martin wondered again in an unusual behavior which got the young woman all freaked out.
"N-no...w-well-...y-yes. You see-...I-...I came to you, b-because-...because I guess I find comfort in you...but right now you're acting weird and it's different, however at normal times you-"
"HOLD ON!" The brown haired man almost yelled causing Nathalie to jump back as she was not used to him behaving like this, but once Martin saw what he did to her, he immediately quieted down and began apologizing.
Now he went back to his real-self, and came to his senses.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to raise my voice I was just a bit f-frustrated! A-and t-tomorrow I'm meant to t-travel w-with a plane and-....you know I'm scared of that! O-otherwise...you were saying..."
"R-right-...well uh-...I needed a bit of comfort and company since Gabriel is once again acting like an idiot and-...and well we had a big fight."
"So you're coming to me for refuge?" He stared her down judgingly which Nathalie didn't at all expect, and just like before she moved herself further away from the man she once 'somewhat' loved. "You think I can help with your love life?"
"W-well y-you're sort of always there...after a fight or a bad event you're always the one I run to-...so now-"
"Well Nathalie I won't always just stand ready to comfort you and give you all that you want! I-I have my own life which is about pleasing me and not others around me! So no, from now on don't come here looking for what you call 'comfort'. I'm no longer gonna live in Paris. I'm moving to London."
"WHAT?!?!" A terrified scream came from the dark haired woman after she'd heard that and almost felt like collapsing "Y-you're going away?!?? Why?!?!"
"I-...I found someone who views me as their first choice and-...and I very much like the attention that special someone gives me."
"W-what?!?!"
Suddenly every thing became so sad and depressing in the assistant's life as she heard that.
Now her only bit of happiness was moving away to a whole other country, and apparently his heart wasn't even her's anymore.
Apparently Martin found someone better, someone who gives him what he truly deserves, and yet Nathalie still hated it.
She wanted the man all to herself.
She wanted him to always comfort her.
She wanted him to never stop obsessing over her.
However, as things have changed and the brown haired man fully packed his luggage he gave one last faint smile to the dark haired woman before uttering.
"I'm sorry...it's all new to me too, but I sort of like it. I enjoy being cared for and being someone's number 1." He admitted "And I most definitely like the fact that for the first at time in forever I feel happ-NATHALIE! Nathalie oh n-no-no-no please don't cry!"
But she couldn't stop.
-
Meanwhile this things weren't much better in the Agreste mansion either.
Gabriel was also in a quite depressing mood which Adrien tried to brighten up multiple times, but failed, all those tries.
"Father it'll be fine! She'll forgive you!"
"N-no! No she won't!" He yelled "Nathalie hates me forever!"
"I'm sure she doesn't! I bet she just needs 'some time alone'. You know everyone does occasionally."
"Y-yes but-...damn it I feel like I lost her!"
"Well what did you do or say that got her this mad??"
"I-I."
But the grey haired man couldn't even begin with his explanation as he felt way too guilty to even speak.
Therefore Gabriel just vigorously shook his head and got his son all concerned by that.
"You don't know what you did?" The blond boy asked but his father kept on shaking his head, more and more aggressively. "What then?!"
"I-I- m-messed up very bad-..."
"Yeah-...by doing what exactly?"
"I-...I kinda lied to Nathalie." The designer finally admitted earning a relived sigh from himself, however in contrast, earning a shocked gasp from his son.
"Why father?!?! What did she do to deserve that?!?"
"N-nothing. In fact Nathalie never ever does anything that would 'deserve' a bad act. She's always so perfect and I'm the one messing up constantly but I just can't help it!!"
With that Gabriel slammed his fist on the desk almost instantly alarming everything that surrounded him.
His son jumped, the mugs on the table fell over, and the whole room almost appeared to shake under this impact.
But he didn't intend to come off so aggressive and frustrated.
In reality the designer was much more sad and anxious about his 'girlfriend' since she ran off to an unknown location, or at least that's what Martin's house was to him.
Anyways-
So Gabriel basically worried himself sick with the thought that he chased her away and she'd never come back.
And as of right now his son Adrien was trying to reassure him that the assistant would return safe and sound, but since the grey haired man was a very decided man he couldn't and wouldn't listen to anyone.
Therefore, well before anyone or anything could've stopped him, he stormed out the door and into the garage.
"I'm going to find her!" Gabriel shouted in frustration.
And with that he was about to get in one of his many cars when a weak arm grabbed onto his.
"Father please. If you're leaving at least let me come along." Adrien begged "You know she means much to me too and I feel really really bad for ever treating her in a mean way. So now I want to help!"
After hearing the teenager's little enthusiastic speech his father couldn't help but smile a bit, and then, when the realization that Adrien was not five anymore hit, Gabriel nodded.
"Alright, come along!"
And with that both Agrestes got into the Mercedes which very soon drove off to 'the unknown location'.
-
"So why exactly did you need to lie to Nathalie?"
Was one of the questions which the teenager began with.
"I-...complicated."
The designer waived it off in hopes of this being enough for the child, however, unlike at other times, this time Adrien wanted more, and he was planning on getting it as well.
"Elaborate please." Said he and then got a very strange glare from the grey haired man who quite literally never have heard his son ever speak such language to him before.
"Pardon?"
"I said, Elaborate please."
And that sassy attitude almost immediately threw the designer off.
He couldn't believe how suddenly arrogant his son got. And just how much that resembled him.
But Gabriel hated the mini version of his horrible personality, therefore absolutely despised whatever Adrien was doing right now.
"No!" He spat that at the teenager "I won't.
"What do you mean you won't! I have the right to know what happened between you two."
"First of all...no! That's private matters and second of all I also have the right to not tell you everything! You're just a child."
Adrien gasped.
"Wow you're really gonna hold the fact that my birthday is in one month away against me like that?!?! I'll be eighteen very very soon! So don't control me like some dumbass toddler."
"Dumb-ADRIEN! Language! You're absolutely no one to me if you swear like that!"
"Oh but you swear all the time!"
"Y-yes b-but I'm an a-"
But before Gabriel could've uttered the word 'adult' he really took a good look at his son and then realized that maybe Adrien was right.
He wasn't so small anymore and he could understand 'adult stuff'.
So why was there any need to hide the truth?
He didn't know.
Therefore the designer sighed once more before pressing his head hard against the car seat and then staring over to the young gentleman next to him.
"You know what...y-you're r-right! I hate to say it, b-but there! I admit! I was wrong, you were right...there is no reason for me to treat you so pathetically as if you were a baby, so-...if you really say you can handle the truth then-..."
"Then?"
The blond boy asked back as his father's voice suddenly faded out and now the 'old' man began sobbing.
"Then what father?"
"Your mother is alive."
