Whilst the adults were having a little too much fun pretending to be all sorts of heroes and villains a sudden phone call distracted Nathalie from the police woman role.

"Yes hello?" She picked up and within seconds the assistant got an alarming reply on the other side of the phone:
"N-Nathalie!! I-It's me! Adrien!! And-and I-...I can't quite explain what happened but I saw my mother! I swear! And-and then she-...she perished away! Like just poof, she was gone! And-and I'm not high or drunk, THIS IS THE TRUTH!!"

The young woman gasped but she tried to remain calm in order to not scare anyone, still her superior could sense that something was wrong so he sat closer to his assistant and listened into the conversation.

"Are you sure it was not some dream or nightmare?"
"No Nathalie no! I-...I saw my mother! I was about to take her home and show father that she's back but then she disappeared!"

Now Gabriel was the one to gasp:
"Oh shit-...I forgot about that incident!"
He said looking at Nathalie who also nodded in agreement and whispered to him:
"I know sir, I also forgot that Adrien was-"
"NATHALIE HELLO?! ARE YOU STILL THERE?!"
"Y-yes Adrien! I'm here."
"Okay great, but where are you actually? Because I'm home in the mansion but I haven't seen you."

The assistant panicked, she couldn't just tell the child that her and Gabriel are currently in a different country playing around with Adrien's secret sister no one knew existed, but at the same time Nathalie was horrible at lying and would always get caught, so she looked over to her superior who also had the exact same worried expression as the young woman.

"We-...Audrey called for your father so he is currently discussing business with her."
"Oh-...this late at night?"
"Well-...she said it was 'urgent' so-...I'm only doing my job Adrien."
"Right, I understand."

With that disappointed sigh the teenager hung up making the two partners in crime feel much more relieved, however the little kids and Alice just stared at Nathalie and Gabriel confused.

"Who was it?" The blond woman asked to which her father chuckled and replied:
"Your brother."
"Oh-...Adrien Agreste, right?"
"Right, you've heard of him?"
"Just a bit." She giggled "But it's mostly because I see him in magazines I buy...and that's the most I've ever known about my family."
"Well-...maybe you could come home with us to Paris! And bring the kids too! Or perhaps leave them behind with their father." The designer suggested as he sat back down onto the rug which had a road drawn on it, and within seconds he continued playing cars with the two boys.
But instead of Alice smiling she turned away with a rather miserable look.

"Yeah no. I can't leave them...their father...he doesn't really exist."
"Pardon?"
"We aren't together, it was all just a mistake!"
"O-oh-...sorry I didn't know, I wouldn't have mentioned if-"
"It's alright, it was a long time ago anyways so it's all in the past, and plus the boys don't really remember, so as long as they have you I think they won't ever be bored."
Alice smiled again as she glanced upon her father who never seemed to stop entertaining the children, and as she looked a little to Gabriel's right she spotted his assistant who smiled at him the exact way.

Basically everyone was watching the grey haired man who for a second almost forgot to answer but as he felt Nathalie get up from beside him the designer shook his head and pulled her back down.

"I'm sorry love, did I not give you a car to chase me with?"

The young woman froze as she just got called love, but Gabriel himself didn't notice that he accidentally said that so when Nathalie became a blushing mess he began laughing.

"What?!" The designer turned to see Alice also frozen and absolutely shocked "What happened? Did I do something? Did I mess up?"

"N-no dad...but I think you just declared your love for Nathalie."
"I-...I did?"
"Yes! You called her...love."
"O-oh that was a total accident-I MEAN no-no Nathalie wait!"

But it was already too late, she took a few great steps away from her boss so he couldn't possibly pull her back down. Then the assistant shook her head as she tried to forget everything he said but it was impossible, so before anyone could've 'caught' her she ran to the bathroom and locked herself in there.

Of course by this the grey haired man instantly felt guilty and horrible, he didn't mean anything he said, but then again he did, sort of.

"I messed up didn't I?" Gabriel asked ashamed of his own self "I'm such a mess!"
"No-no dad you can still fix it! Go after her and tell Nathalie how much you lov-"
"But I don't! I mean I do-...I-I no I don't I don't! I love Emilie! She's my wife! She's the one I want! Nathalie is just-...just an assistant!"
"You don't really mean that, do you?" Alice worried "Dad you know that mom is with someone else, plus she doesn't want to go back to her old self. She likes being Amelie and wants to leave her old life all the way behind! You need to let her go! She doesn't want you! I mean she does but-...but that will only remind her of bad memories and you wouldn't want to hurt her, right?"
"Right but-...I never meant to hurt her in any way, it was all our fucking parents's fault that we turned out this way! I never wanted anything or anyone and now here I am loosing myself over two women who I love equally but I just can't admit that because I'm too stubborn to!..." Gabriel sighed hopelessly feeling like an absolute wreck "Oh I'm so sorry Nathalie I really do love you, so would you be so kind to open the door?"
"No sir! You're just playing! Those feelings aren't real!"
"NATHALIE! If anyone knows something about 'emotions' I think that should be me! So don't make me mad because then-"
"Fine!" She flung the door open causing her boss to get thrown back onto the carpet where the boys were playing, so when they saw their granddad land in the middle of the 'battlefield' they both broke out laughing:

"Hihihihi grandpa is dead!"
"Yeah...very soon he will be-"
The designer groaned as he tried to stand but failed.
There were way too many terrifyingly sharp pieces of Legos on the floor which seemed to be every parent's worst nightmare, but thankfully Nathalie kicked them all aside and pulled her superior back onto his feet.

This suddenly caused them to end up really near each other which for both of them was very familiar and yet incredibly awkward, so as fast as she could the assistant pushed herself away from him. But of course Gabriel sabotaged all of this when just a second later he grabbed the woman's wrist and pulled her back making her trip on a Lego piece and fall right into his arms.

"Oh sir! I hope you're...somewhat okay."
"As you would say...'I'm fine'." He teased with a smirk only annoying and flustering the young assistant.

"Stop it!" She shouted "Now you're just being-..."
"Being what? Come on finish your sentence!"
"Being ignorant! I told you I like you! Then you rejected me and now you want me-...it's all happening so fast! You change your mind so quickly it's-"
"I'm sorry." Gabriel interrupted as he placed his thumb over Nathalie's lips and with that shut her up for a little while. "I myself am still not very sure of my own feelings so how about we take things slow? Very slow.
"Fine." The assistant nodded "But I-...I still need time and-
"-whatever-...do whatever makes you feel most comfortable and don't hesitate to tell me if anything bothers you." He smiled "I'll try my best but I do want to apologize in advance, I'm not the best person alive and you know that."
"Oh please. We all have our flaws."

They both giggled thinking of the exact same thing which Gabriel soon whispered into his employee's ear:

"Like being the most wanted villain in Paris and also an absolute maniac who is obsessed with a dead woman...or alive woman as I've found out recently."
"Mhm like that, but that's only a small little flaw. I'm sure that with a bit of dedication you can work on yourself and become better." The young woman smiled pulling away from his arms, but for one last time he pulled her close and laid a kiss on top of the dark haired woman's head:
"I hope so too, for you Nath."

After almost getting a little too lost in the moment the two adults didn't even realize that by now Alice alongside with her two kids were clapping in approval.

This instantly made the two work partners blush which only caused a 'cuter' situation, but for them it seemed to get more awkward, so to save herself from further embarrassment Nathalie turned away and grabbed her coat off of the hanger.

"I think we should go sir! After all we do need to get back to Paris since Adrien is waiting!"
"Y-yes I know but-...but I've barely had time to be with my grandchildren I didn't even know I had until today! So maybe...they could join us...back home?"
"Very well sir but what will your son think? You know we still have that 'incident' to take care of and-"
"I'm sure we'll figure it out! We always do!"
"B-but sir-"

Nathalie couldn't even argue because before she knew it everyone was in the car and already on the way back to Paris.

Meanwhile this the teenage boy was left all alone at home with no supervision allowing him to do whatever he pleased.
Of course this already sounds bad enough but it only got worse when he decided to do a bit of 'cleaning' in his father's room.

'Cleaning' meaning looking through everything he owned, like: fancy suits, or some expensive looking fabrics he probably used for dresses or whatever. But none of this mattered to Adrien.
He wanted something more interesting and soon enough he found that 'more interesting' thing in his dad's cupboard which stood right next to his bed.

It was a family photo of him, Emilie, and Adrien...but something looked off.

Emilie didn't appear the same as she did in a photo where baby Adrien was getting held right after birth.
Maybe it was just the fact that the blond woman's face was rather exhausted after giving birth but no-...she looked completely different, in addition her hair color wasn't even the same.

The teenager boy was utterly confused, and no matter how long he stared at the two pictures he couldn't figure out what was wrong.
Maybe it was just his eyes messing around...but little did he know...

Anyways before Adrien could've done further research he decided to leave it and instead look around a bit more, however this time on the other side of the bed.

There stood the exact same wooden cupboard but inside this one was a hair tie and some sleeping medication.

"Aha I knew it!" The blond boy cheered up as he lifted the hair tie close to his face and with his fingers pinched a dark blue strand of hair.
"Nathalie!" He spat "I knew you slept with him! You-you BACKSTABBER! You're probably with him right now, not at Audrey's but somewhere much more interesting. All alone with my father!!...Oh Nathalie once I find you, I swear ITS OVER FOR YOU!!"
