There they were now in the future trying to find Emilie and Gabriel's long lost daughter who he could barely remember. But he still tried his best to. It was just simply difficult to think of a person after such a long time.
"Do you know when she got taken away?"
"N-no not really." The designer sighed embarrassed as he turned away to hide his forming tears "I-it w-was j-just n-night a-and-"
~~~
"GABRIEL!!!! GABRIEL WAKE UP!!"
Emilie screamed as she shook her husband awake who immediately shot up from the bed to comfort the sobbing woman.
"What?! What happened?!"
"A-A-Alice...s-s-she's...g-gone!"
"GONE?! What do you mean gone?!"
"I DONT KNOW! I-I just heard her cry so I went to see what that was about b-but...when I got there..."
The blond woman couldn't even finish speaking as she already fell into tear for the second time now. But it was understandable. Her only daughter was taken away and she had no idea what to do so obviously Emilie's behavior was acceptable in this situation.
"W-what i-if s-someone w-wants to hurt her!"
"That won't happen my dear, I promise to find Alice!" Said Gabriel but little did he know that would be the exact promise that would break both of them apart.
~~~
"I should've never said that! I was and still am so dumb!" The designer shook his head as he now furiously walked around the whole house but there was still no sight of his little girl.
So this began to frustrate Gabriel like nothing else, and not even Nathalie could calm him down with her usual reassuring smile.
"Sir please! Calm down! We can't find her like this!" She yelled now grabbing her boss's hands and pulling him back but the grey haired man had so much anger built up in him that as soon as he turned around he would've wanted to slap Nathalie. But luckily Gabriel came to his senses before he could've done it, so now he stood there glaring down at the young woman in front of him with one of his arms raised.
"I'm sorry." He began pulling his assistant close "I didn't mean to." He now laid a kiss on top of her head earning her to immediately wrap her arms around him "I just got frustrated, like always. I know it's a bad habit and I promise to stop. But right now-"
"It's fine. Let's just find Alice already!"
And with an agreeing nod from her boss they went back to searching.
...
After re-living that night at least 5 times the best they could see was a pair of delicate hands lifting the child out of her little baby bed, and after taking a closer look at those hands Gabriel gasped in realization.
"AMELIE! Her hands are the exact same as Emilie's."
"B-but why would she take your child? She already had Felix plus...it's her sister's baby."
Nathalie wondered as she looked up to her boss who was on the verge of tears but he was more angry than sad. So the designer didn't cry, instead he squeezed his fist tight.
"I'm not sure. I guess she just always wanted to create drama in this darn family!" He spat replaying that one moment before Alice was taken away "But now I know who to find! Come on Nathalie we need to go."
"Yes sir. And I'm sorry...for your...loss I guess."
"It's alright. If we can find her again I'll be more than happy."
The designer smiled as he imagined how his little daughter would look now.
Well she wouldn't look so 'little' anymore considering the fact that she would be 24 and probably all grown up living her own life already just like any other adult. But Gabriel didn't like to believe that. He had missed out on so many things with his daughter that he just wanted to imagine her as a tiny child still playing around with toys and having tea parties.
The designer perfectly thought of every single detail, how she'd dress, how her face would look, and how she'd speak. But he was all wrong because he was just imagining his lost toddler and not his grow up daughter.
Well anyways, after a little time of traveling back to the present and putting the bunny miraculous away Gabriel sighed as he made his way through the front hall and upstairs right into his bedroom. Nathalie followed, but only because she didn't know if she should or shouldn't so she just stayed around her boss at all times without him even noticing, so it was quite awkward when she needed to make it clear that she was in the same room as him watching him change.
"Sir...I'm here."
"Oh...great." He sighed turning away and putting his shirt on in the bathroom where she couldn't see him anymore "I'm just a wreck"
"You're not! You look great!"
"That's not what I meant but thank you anyway, I was talking about how I behave."
"Oh...I'd say that's also pretty alright...it can be worse right?"
"Right." He laughed now coming close to his assistant and carefully grabbing her face "I could always end up on the cover of Play Boy."
"Oh that'd be a pity. Then your reputation would be for sure ruined."
"For sure." He added before walking out of the room and also causing Nathalie to run after him.
"Where are we going sir if I may ask?"
"To London!"
"TO LONDON?! Like right this second? I don't even have a bag packed-"
"Me neither, but we're going! I must find Amelie and ask where my daughter is!"
And before the assistant could've talked her boss out of this stupidness she got pushed into the car.
"Stay! I need you with me." Said Gabriel getting in on the other side of the car. The driver's seat.
"I-okay b-but w-we're going b-by car? To London?"
"Got any better ideas? And DONT suggested public transport because I DO NOT want to get recognized!"
"O-okay."
Sighed the assistant as she laid back on the passenger seat and watched her boss aggressively drive through traffic.
...
Well after 6 hours of driving (or maybe just a little more) the two adults arrived.
And of course Gabriel without hesitation jumped out of the vehicle just so that he could harshly knock on the door and wait for the blond woman to answer.
And when she did Amelie looked extremely surprised.
"I-oh Gabriel! W-what a p-pleasure to see you." Smiled the blond woman but the man in front of her just shook his head and coldly replied:
"I bet."
"So then...what brings you here?"
"The past."
"O-oh that's interesting...and why exactly?"
"Well because I'm convinced you have something that's mine!"
"...cut to the point please! You know I'm too blond to understand your dumb clues."
The designer audibly gasped, but at least he didn't start laughing because that was quite funny. Instead he cleared his throat and put on a new death stare.
"My daughter!"
"Your daughter?"
"Yes her! I'm pretty sure you remember. Right? And I also think that you know who took her."
"Oh!" She began "well actually..."
But before the woman could've spoken any further Gabriel grabbed her shoulders and held her down in place.
"Tell me now Amelie! I'm not playing any of your foolish games!" He spat to which the blond woman instantly shivered.
She was too unsure of what she should do next so Amelie just stood there trembling in his hands until she finally managed to stutter something.
"W-w-well....G-Gabriel..." she began but in a different tone of voice.
It wasn't as high pitched as her usual, instead it was the exact opposite, soothing and quiet.
Now this reminded the designer of someone.
His wife.
And he hated the fact that she had a twin so much but he never ever confused them because he could clearly hear the difference in their voices, except now. Amelie sounded different and Gabriel's mind was playing games...or was it?
"TELL ME!" He shouted out of anger to which suddenly another man appeared who with one swift movement took the blond woman out of the designer's grasp.
"Who are you?!"
Both men exclaimed at the same time causing an awkward minute of silence.
"I'm Gabriel, Amelie's sister's husband!"
"Ah! I know you." He began "The designer right?"
"Correct. And you are?"
"Amelie's...boyfriend...it's quite weird to say boyfriend at an age like this but you know, we're not married so we're just 'friends'."
"I understand."
Said Gabriel looking back at his car from where his assistant appeared and walked over to him.
So now as she got near them the designer pulled Nathalie close as if he would've needed to protect her from the others. He didn't really he just felt a little lonely plus holding Nathalie's body sure felt comfortable.
"So." Gabriel started speaking once again "Do you know where she is?"
"Alice? No...I haven't seen her in years, but Felix could probably tell you something. He knows everyone."
And so without exchanging any further information or words the designer and his assistant left the scene.
They now drove to the address Amelie gave them but whilst they were heading there Nathalie began acting very strange.
"Sir are you sure about this?" She asked looking out of her window and seeing the places they passed by, this town looked really sketchy. "I wouldn't trust Felix."
"Yes I know but he's the only one who can give me any sort of information so I need to...I'm sorry Nathalie I wish I wouldn't need to involve you in this because I know London doesn't exactly make you feel great."
"It's fine, I'll get over it."
The young woman now sighed as she turned back to face her boss and just as she did so she noticed that they arrived at the very creepy looking apartment owned by the 19 year old.
No one ever understood how Felix had enough money to buy a place, but whatever he did was always a mystery so everyone ignored his illegal acts as if it was nothing.
"Here we are!" Gabriel cheered as he opened the car door and helped his assistant step out.
She instantly gripped her boss's coat and in response the designer laid and arm around her.
"It will be fine. I promise!" He said once more before walking in.
...
It took the adults quite a bit of time to maneuver around the apartment complex since Felix somehow managed to own the most complicatedly built flat ever, but after finding the right door number Gabriel decided to knock, and to everyone's surprise someone did answer.
But that someone wasn't the blond teenager, instead it was his girlfriend.
"What do you want?" Ava spoke not so invitingly which made the designer instantly scoff in an arrogant manner.
"Felix."
"He is not home."
"Well then where can I find him?"
"No clue. If you really want to speak with him you'll need to wait until dinner time."
"And when is dinner time?"
"Around 10pm"
Gabriel sighed whilst rubbing his tired eyes.
"Really 10pm?"
"Yes why? Do you have a problem with my cooking schedule?!"
"No not at all young lady I just-"
"Mr Agreste is a bit frustrated, he drove here all the way from Paris so just excuse his grumpy behavior."
Nathalie interrupted with a smile as she patted her boss's back and thankfully with that eased his anger, so now at least the designer wasn't about to murder that child in front of him.
To be continued-
