The way she sat there and stared at my body helped my nerves. I could no longer smell her fear. It was all lust. Clearing my throat to grab her attention before she found out just how much her arousal was affecting me. My beautiful mates face shot up and turned a pretty shade of red. It was one of the sweetest things I have ever seen.

Reassuring her and begging her not to run was all I could do and I hoped for the best. Going down on all fours I kept my head bowed so she wouldn't see my eyes change colour. That seems to startle people more, where the shifting seems to freeze them on the spot. I needed her to see this. To really understand.

Feeling her emotions made the shift that much more difficult. She went from unease, confusion, disbelief, back to fear and of course lust bounced back and forth. I wanted to wait to do this but after last night I knew I couldn't. I didn't trust myself not to mark her the first time we made love. I almost didn't leave her last night. She was so attuned to what I felt and the mate bond that she was just as much of a ball of lust as I was. No, I just hoped she accepted me. I was honestly not sure if I could walk away even if she asked me to. I have been waiting for years to find her and letting her go would not be an easy task.

My shift was done and I wanted to shake out my fur to get rid of the last tingle our bodies held after we changed but I was afraid to make any quick movements. So instead I looked up and sat down and waited to scent what she was feeling. What I wasn't expecting was her calm.

"You were in my dreams," she said in awe.

What dreams? Damn I wish I could talk to her but I knew I had to stay in this form for at least 30 minutes. Jack knew what I was going to do today and gave me permission to pull from the packs energy to do another shift so soon after. So I tilted my head and hoped she would understand what I was asking.

"Last night and the night before I had a dream of you, me, wolves and your wolf. We ran through the woods. I was happy and content. You...as a human held my hand as we ran and you...as this wolf stayed beside me everywhere I went. It was beautiful and so peaceful." Mady stared at me with such admiration I felt all the stress leave my body.

I could sense nor smell any fear from her so I slowly stood and took a step towards her. Still sensing only ease I took another. She stared right into my eyes and I could tell she was thinking of something. I needed to remind her that she should never stare down a wolf. My wolf didn't care since she was ours but others would.

"Nate? Can you understand me?" Mady spoke in a quiet voice.

Now standing in front of her I nodded my large head. Wolf shifters were much bigger than the natural wolf. If Mady stood my head would reach her waist. But she just hit over 5 feet tall where I stood well over 6 feet. After I confirmed I could understand she jumped up and encircled her arms around my neck and hugged me tight. This was not at all the reaction I expected from her at all.

Releasing the death grip she had on me she sat back on the log and stared deep into my eyes and sighed. "Ok we have a lot of talking to do mister. Can you change back now or do you have to wait? Hey! Don't judge me I am just going by the fantasy books I read. Huh I guess it really isn't fantasy anymore. I wonder what else is real?" Mady was rambling on. She was just so damn adorable.

Shaking my head at the first question she tilted her head before speaking again. "You need some time to shift back?" I nodded. She stood up and looked around. "Well I have my hiking shoes on so let's go. Oh shit do you need to eat? That is what some of the books say anyways."

Damn she was taking this extremely well. I think I was the one going to go into shook over this instead. I nodded. Food helps replace the energy I just used to shift. Bending over at the waist she held my huge head in her tiny delicate hands and said, "Ok let's go find my big adorable pup some food!" Her actions right than had me almost fall over. She kissed my nose. Who the hell is this woman? Any normal person would have been running away by now. Even a human mate would had some issues clarifying what just happened. But no not my mate. First she calls me a pup, one that weighs 3 times more than she does, then she kisses my nose! 

Maybe she was losing it after all. I whined. I was getting worried about my mate. She looked down at me and smiled. "Nate, I am ok. This actually makes so much sense. I have never felt this way towards anyone. Hell, I have never wanted to have sex with someone so bad in my life and believe me I have had sex before." I growled at that one. Mady laughed. "If you say I am your mate and it is truly what I think it is then trust me I am only yours. Now once you change back I will prove that too you." She winked and headed deeper into the woods. I needed to find food and fast.
