The alarm of my iPhone roared through its tiny speakers.
Ugh! How in the God's name these tiny speakers can make such a loud sound and this phone has only one speaker!
Ask Apple honey! My inner voice mocked.
'Believe me that's the first thing I'll do after turning off this stupid alarm.' I told my inner voice.
I thought mom's yelling was worse than anything in the world, but these alarms are the worst.
Even though I wasted my ten minutes in selecting a perfect tone for alarm. After those precious ten minutes my heart settled on 'chime', so I selected it. Believe me it sounded peaceful and heavenly last night, but now this same sound is like cries of thousand babies.
Ava that was exaggerated.
I sleeplishly scanned for my God forsaken iPhone with my hands.
Ava open your eyes and look for your phone. You are not blind!
I didn't listen to my inner voice and finally my hands touched the cold metallic surface of my Rose Gold iPhone 6s Plus.
Don't worry, I didn't waste my money buying a thousand dollar smartphone--- my company gifted it to me.
I doubt that now I'll receive anything, now that Mr. Smith has been replaced by his perfectly perfect son, Mr. rude and polite.
I finally stopped the alarm that had been buzzing for like centuries and the peace after that literally felt like--- my country has been under attack (when alarm was ON) and my country has won the war (when alarm was OFF) and citizens will now be free of the wrath of enemies (the peace after alarm was stopped).
Ava that was exceptionally good, but kind of overly extra exaggerated explanation.
Yeah, my inner voice was right. Actually I'm very exhausted since last night.
Last night the training was perfect--- yet very tiring.
Well, it's your fault--- you made it tiring for yourself.
I trained for extra thirty minutes than advised by Nathan.
I just wanted to complete my training as soon as possible. I know I shouldn't have trained for that long. Nathan did try to stop me, but I didn't listen to his one word. Now I know how much my body is aching--- especially my legs. I wish I would've listened to Nathan.
It is no use crying over split milk! My inner voice mocked.
'Shut up bitch! I would've given the split milk to a cat, but what can I do with the aches of my body'. I argued with my inner voice.
But my inner voice is right. I can't do anything about it. I didn't even take a pain killer last night. I wish I would've taken one.
It is no use crying over---
'SHUT UP!'
My inner voice was again going to activate her 'bitch mode' but, lucky me, I stopped her before she could even reach for the 'bitch mode activation button'.
Anyways now that I haven't took any pain killer, it's going to be real shitty for me because neither I can tell mom about the pain for she'll ask me the reason and I can't tell her that I was training, nor I can skip office because I've already received a warning and Mr. Jr. a.k.a the perfectionist is not going to accept it.
What if he did accept my leave for a day?
Keep dreaming lady!
Anyways I don't need any leave. I'm totally perfect--- so women up, Ava, because you are going to office today.
I am?
Yes, you are.
The only thing that i don't like about training with Nathan is that I have to continuously lie to my mom and dad. I really don't want to, but then I have to.
If my parents knew that for last few months, everyday I go to a training club to increase my stength and fighting skills they will never let me leave the house again.
Well, they won't do such a thing but they will be really mad and I have aleady given them so much misery and I don't want to make them more sad.
They have already forbade me to do any sort of such thing when I told them once. I told them at that time that I won't do anything, but then I couldn't stop because--- I don't want to be weak anymore.
I just hope they could understand this too.
But they won't and I know it. I'm their only child and they treat me like a doll.
Another shitty fact out my lie is that eveyday I have to change clothes constantly. I go to office in office suit, then after the office ends I change to my jeans to go for training, then when I have to go back home I again have to change back to my office suit.
Yeah! My life is pretty fucked up.
My office ends at 7:00 PM, but I've lied to my parents and have told them that my office hours end at 8:30 PM. I normally train for about one hour so I reach home at about 9:00 PM everyday. But last night due to my extra training I returned home little late, nearly at 9:46 PM.
Mom asked me why I was late but then I told her that our new boss had a lot of work for us and he had to tell us some important things.
Perks of having a new boss. You can make up a whole lie that centres around him.
Damn! I really did make my whole lie based on Mr. Aaron. I mean Mr. rude and polite.
I was relieved when mom didn't interogate me further and she really did buy my lie, but she was a little bit surprised by the sudden replacement of CEO.
She put the dinner in the oven and I explained her everything about new CEO.
Last night after I ate, I decided to put on an alarm on my iPhone, because of my new boss. I can't take a chance of getting late anymore and ultimately get fired.
This was my first ever time to put on an alarm and I clearly didn't have a nice experience with it.
I should've asked mom to wake me up, but then she would've thought that either I've gone crazy or there's something up.
When last night me and mom had a discussion about new CEO, I skipped the part where I got a warning letter.
I don't want to tell her that the dashing CEO, I was talking about last night, have given me a month to make my performance better or else he'll kick me out.
But now I think I'll have to cope up with the alarms because neither I can ask mom to wake me up nor I can ever think of getting late.
Seriously if it wasn't for my new crazy boss, I would've never ever woken up so early.
I finally got up from my bed and checked for the time. It was only 6:00AM.
I was surprised waking up so early.
I had a couple of notifications of Facebook. I decided to open them.
Stop Ava! Don't you remember--- once you enter this bitch, she'll bite you and won't let go.
I quickly threw my phone away. Now that I've woken up early that doesn't mean I should waste my time checking out my News Feed.
'Congratulations on breaking your record of getting late', I remembered what Brit said to me yesterday when I came late.
How about today I break the record of getting office early.
I excitedly got up, but my body still ached from the extra training.
I swear I'm never goning to train for even an extra second.
Still, womening up, I strode toward my bathroom.
I stood near the shower and waited for the water to turn warm.
When I saw the steam emerging from thee water, I stepped under the hot shower.
It feels awesome!
It took me a while under the shower. I finally came out wrapping the towel around my body. As I was moving to my closet the door of my room opened and mom came in.
"Hey mom." I said looking through my clothes, finding a perfect match for today.
I didn't receive a reply from mom and I moved back to see if she was in the room or she left seeing that I'm up.
When I looked she was standing still, frozen to the ground.
"You're up!" Her eyes were wide open.
"What happened?" I furrowed my eye brows. "You seem surprised?"
"Honey, you're lucky I'm only surprised and not lying dead on the floor!" She titled her head, pointing it to the floor and she started moving near my closet.
"Mom I've woken up early before--- many times. You don't need to act like this!" I said with my one hand on my hip and other on the door of my closet.
"Have you?" She raised her brows.
"Yeaaah!" On realisation I emited a deep audible breath of defeat and admitted to my mom, "It really is my first ever time waking up so early."
"Why you woke up so early? Are you sick?" My mom asked standing at a distance from closet, taking a good look on my dresses hanged inside my closet.
I pouted at what she just said and told her the reason of my sudden punctuality in waking up, "It's because of my new boss I told you about last night!"
"It's okay--- it's not like he has given you a warning letter." She tried to make me feel better, but she didn't know she just made me feel worse.
Mommy you don't know!---Your dear girl had already received a warning letter.
"Yeah!" I tried to sound normal, not making her feel that something's up with me. "But still I think I should be punctual--- you know, new boss means I get a chance of making new reputation."
"That's great, honey! Because David--I mean Mr. Smith was the only one who coped with your tardiness--- I don't think your new boss will."
'Mom's right!' I felt gloomy for a while.
Finally, coming back to reality I asked mom, "Okay, what should I wear today?"
Mom had been scanning my closet for a while and I think she might have found a perfect match for me.
I love my mom's choice. She's a superstar with the things like fashion. My father once told me that in her teen times my mom looked like a model from expensive brands like Gucci and Louis Vuitton. And I believed my dad because still she looks pretty even with those few wrinkles on her skin and sometimes I think her hair are silkier than mine.
"Wear the black one and yeah red heels will be better with them." She was sitting on my bed and she finally got up telling me about the dress.
"But I've worn it before." I told her, but I was surprised she didn't remember that.
"I know you wore it--- like a year ago." She said glaring at me and with that she went out of the room.
Yeah! She's right--- I wore it last year.
Okay then, mom, as you say--- black it is today.
I wore black dress pant with a black dress shirt which fitted me perfectly and over that I slid a Burberry Prorsum Disconnected Lapel Tailored Jacket . I wore my long strapless red heels and applied red lipstick. I straightened my hair with a straightener even though they were already straight. I let my hair fall on my shoulders.
I looked in the mirror and I was looking--- stunning.
What's the reason of taking so much time to look perfect when you know that at the end of your day you're going to ruin it all.
My inner voice was true.
Even though I didn't like getting ready, but when I looked at myself in the mirror after getting ready--- I didn't need to brag, but I was looking killer.
Narcissism Alert! My inner voice cleared her throat.
'Shut up! I'm not being narcissistic', I yelled at my inner voice.
I took my black purse and as usual put my jeans and top in it.
I checked time once again and it was 8:15 AM.
Good job, Ava! My inner voice appreciated me.
I smiled knowing that I'm ready on time for the first time.
I moved downstairs and found mom and dad on the breakfast table. At least today I'll be able to sit peacefully with them and maybe even talk about--- various stuff.
"Hey, Guys!" I announced before reaching the table to let them know of my presence.
My dear fellows, let me tell you something worth saving in your Memos or Notes of your smartphones or if you are old fashioned then wroth writing on your small pocket diaries , 'Never ever enter any place where your parents are without announcing. If it is a room--- always knock or if it's someplace else make sure to say something loud enough from a distance or if you can't do that then at least clear your throat.'
Because you do not want to see them having sex or something similar to sex. Trust me this is the best advise you can get and it saves you from a lot of embarrassment.
But it's different in my case. I usually like to greet cheerfully and, for your information, I never walked upon my parents during sex. But do remember my advise because who knows a time may come when your parents are so busy in their intimate acts that they forgets to lock the door.
That was too much, Ava. My inner voice said to me.
'Nah!'
I grabbed a chair and sat beside my dad who was busy eating yummy pancakes.
"You woke up early!" Dad looked up and had the exact same surprised reaction like mom.
I looked at mom who was near the stove, she looked at me and chuckled while putting pancakes in the plate next to me.
"God people! It's not that big deal--- and from now on you might see me on the table early." I stated putting some syrup over the pancakes.
"Where's my Ava?" Dad enthusiastically mocked me by pointing his fork at me.
"It's all because of my new boss," I said taking the first bite of the mouth watering pancake. "and don't point, dad."
What? What did I just say? Oh, my God. Well, it was by mistake.
Today I'm going to have a nice breakfast.
"New boss?" Dad asked confusedly.
"Yeah Mr. Smith has given his place to his son, Mr. Rude and--- I mean Mr. Aaron Smith." I told him.
"I didn't know he has a son."
Mom took off her apron and sat beside dad so that me and mom are next to each other and dad in between.
"Me too, dad." Like dad I also didn't know about Mr. Smith's son, but surprisingly mom knew.
"I knew that Mr. Smith has a son and he lived in an entirely other state. Didn't know he'll be coming here." Mom revealed the information she knew.
From another state! Huh!
After that we talked about different stuff. Dad talked about his new business that he has started and I continued eating the dear pancakes.
Today I realized the biggest advantage of waking up early--- you can eat as much as you want without worrying about anything.
"Okay, mom and dad I'm going." I washed my hands and dryed them with a towel.
"Honey, you still got half an hour left!" Mom told me.
I grabbed my purse and moved to the door.
"Mom it takes about 20 minutes to reach that damn office." I said.
"Okay!" She shrugged.
"Ava, you'll get your own car soon." Dad looked back from his chair and smiled at me.
"It's okay, dad." I smiled back at him, reassuring him.
It's not that I'm dying without one and I don't what to put pressure on dad.
"Bye!" I opened the door and went out.
We live in a lovely neighbourhood and now mostly half of the neighbourhood know me. As I walk on the footpath, most people greet me. It is actually very nice to see that there are good people around the world.
The thing I don't like about this place is that it's quite far from the Subway.
♣
Like usual, I covered this large distance and I finally reached the subway and took the train.
Train stopped and I got out and I was surprised that I'm still left with twenty minutes. I guess mom was wrong about time.
Now I just need to take a cab and it will only take five minutes to reach the office that means I'm going to be at the Smith's Initiative early like I used to last year.
'Brit I'm going to prove you wrong and I'm now going to set up a new record of getting early.' I squealed with joy.
I sat in a taxi and gave him the directions.
I was checking my Twitter and then I realized that the taxi has finally stopped.
I got out. It actually felt good to do everything calmly. Yesterday, I was rushing towards my office and forgot to pay the driver, all because I didn't get up early.
I payed the driver and when I turned.
What the fuck?
"This isn't Smith's Initiative!" I yelled at the driver who was about to leave.
"You said Smith's--- you didn't told me the Smith's office." He simply said making me more furious.
"How many Smith's are here!" I cried getting back in the taxi.
Without asking he started the car.
God! I have only ten minutes left.
He finally stopped the car after I don't know like centuries.
I rushed towards my office when he stopped me, "You forgot to pay Madam."
I glared at him, "After what you did--- I won't give you a penny."
I was about to move over to the glass doors, but then I returned and payed him.
No matter what, he need to be payed.
"Thank you, Madam, and I'm sorry." He apologized.
"It's okay."
After this I didn't wasted a single moment and dashed towards the the glass doors.
I sprinted towards the elevator, but hit something hard before I could reach to it. No matter how hard that thing was, but I was sure it wasn't a wall. It was a someone--- a guy.
He looked back and it was the one and only Mr. Jr.
God! You could have bumped me in someone else other than him?
I really didn't want to start my day by confronting him.
He was wearing black shades and was in a balck suit like yesterday.
Does he wear anything else other than black?
When he looked back he had a frown on his face. He took off his shades and I knew he was going to shout. Because that's the only thing he can do.
"I'm sorry!" I made a apology before he could yell at me.
His frown disappears when he looked at me closely.
"Oh, Miss Willimans. It's you." He said moving towards the elevator.
I darted towards the elevator before he could reach it and pressed the button. Stating that this elevator has now been taken.
He rasied a brow at me and despite moving to other elevators he stood beside me.
Didn't he get the sign? This elevator is now taken.
But then many people can be in a same elevator and it's not like I have bought these elevators.
"You know you're a minute late." He looked at his expensive wrist watch.
"Well, you're late too!" I exclaimed.
He moved his head near me and murmured in my ear, "Well, I'm the boss."
I froze to the ground. What the hell was that?
He moved back and I looked up at him. He had smirk on his face.
Smirking jerk!
The bristly stubble on his face was making his smirk more sexier.
Did he grow hair in one night? I remember yesterday there weren't much hair on his face but now--- anyways, they do look good on him.
His hair style is also very hunky.
Ava, stop talking about his looks!
The door of the elevator finally opened and few people got out. I quickly moved inside and Mr. Aaron followed me.
He moved his finger to the the button of his floor, but I quickly held his hand to stop him before his hand could reach the button.
As soon as my hands touched his, I yanked my hand away, but quickly pressed the button to my department before it becomes anymore weird.
His hands were so--- masculine.
Okay, Ava! He's a man so he got to have masculine hands. What did you excepted that he'll have soft girly hands. Duh!
Still I shouldn't have touched him.
Our eyes met, but I quickly looked away.
He remained expressionless and looked staright.
I glanced at him and saw that the top button of his white shirt was opened. Yesterday, he was wearing a tie.
Did he forgot to wear one because without one it's really distracting.
Stop, Ava! Just Stop.
The elevator was quite a huge one and seven people could easily fit in, but it seemed like his big figure was making this elevator small.
No one was muttering a single word and it was starting to get really weird for me, but I think he seemed normal.
"A--a do you forgot to --wear a tie." I stuttered with a trace of nervousness in my voice.
Shit Ava! What have you just asked!
He looked at me with a confused look and then smirked, "I think I look more sexy this way."
It's sad, but he's right.
"You think much highly of yourself." I said without looking at him, but I could sense his gaze on me.
"I say what's true." He said looking at the door of elevator.
Sighing he tugged his hands inside the pockets of his pants.
I didn't want to be near him. I don't know, but there was an odd tension building up and I wasn't liking the atmosphere of the elevator. So I didn't look at him and he did the same too.
The door finally opened and I rushed out as quickly as I could, like I was escaping from a prison.
I looked back at the elevator and my brown eyes met his blue ones.
He said with no expression, "I was right, you're perfect for----".
He hasn't completed what he was saying when the door of elevator closed.
STUPID ELEVATOR!
I was now left with an eerie feeling.
What was he saying?
I'm perfect for--- what?
