Not going back on your word is such an honorable thing to do. It's being responsible for what you say or promise.

But I think it should not always be the case. What if you said something that is wrong to begin with? Then you realize it will cause more harm to go on with what you said rather than not. This time I guess you should back off and be humble enough to admit you changed your mind.
