A Oneshot I wrote months ago...

A middle aged woman, with black hair and black eyes, raced down the pristine white halls of the Konoha Hospital. Her distressed eyes scanned the room numbers looking for the one holding her family member, her father.

Her eyes finally caught room number 437, and she threw open the sliding door. The door slammed, making a slight bang echo through the hospital. This however did not shock the 3 occupants of the room, seeing has they had sensed and heard her running down the halls.

The middle aged woman's eyes flickered over to an elderly woman wearing the nurse's uniform. The elderly woman's hair was grey, with few strands of pink hair. Her green eyes were aged and tired, but held the same distress as the middle aged woman.

The second most noticeable person in the room, was an old man who looked the same age as the elderly woman, his grey hair was outgrown and unkept. His blue eyes held the amusement of a child, but the distress that was present in the middle aged and elderly woman's eyes was clearly visible.

The final man, was the cause of all of this distress. His long, unkept grey hair framed his thin face. His chest rose and fell slowly, slower then the average human's breath intake. His once strong hands, were now bony and lay limp by his torso on the hospital cot. The most peculiar thing was his eyes however, one was a dull black that was tired from time. The other however, was a brilliant purple, an eye that had only been seen in less then 10 people since the beginning of time.

The middle aged woman took a deep breath to fill her gasping lungs, and slowing stepped into the dull white hospital room. She had only taken a few steps before she rasped out. "Father...."

The man laying in the bed slowing looked up to see the middle aged woman, his daughter. His expression did not change, however the middle aged woman identified a flicker of happiness dance in his eyes, before it disappeared again. The man opened his dry mouth and muttered. "Sarada..." The elderly man paused before continuing. "I am glad... You were able to make it."

This made the other two elderly people in the room smile despite the distress they were feeling on the inside. "Wow Sasuke, I never thought I would hear you say that." The one elderly man said. The man on the bed, or Sasuke how he was now identified as, glared at the man.

"And I thought I would never hear you say anything smart... Oh wait I'm still waiting." Sasuke growled. The man deadpanned and sauntered over a the chair by the wall and sat down.

"Sasuke, Naruto, can you stop arguing for just this one time... Please..." The elderly woman begged. Naruto glanced over to the elderly woman, and seeing the desperation in her eyes smiled.

"Fine Sakura... That is if Sasuke can take it..." At the last part Naruto and Sasuke glared at each other. Daring the other the back down in anyway.

"Of course I can, dope." Sasuke challenged, their glare battle continuing. Sakura, watching this happening growled.

"Stop it you two! This. One. Time!" Naruto and Sasuke nervously glanced at their once pink haired teammate, Naruto laughed nervously while Sasuke looked away from his angry wife. Sarada walked towards the bed where her father laid and sat down in the chair nearby.

She took a nervous breath and started. "I am sorry I wasn't able to come sooner, my team just got back from our mission-"

"Was it a sucess?" Sasuke interrupted, Sarada nervously looked at her father and nodded.

"Yes, we succeeded. I actually came from the village gate right over here, my team said they could pass the mission details over to Lord 8th. Maki and Juro told us that your condition had worsened, so I ran over here as quick as I could and-"

"It's all right Sarada, you made it didn't you?" Naruto reassured the young Uchiha. "Sasuke isn't dead yet, no way I'd let him die without seeing you first." The room fell silent and the two female Uchihas looked down at Naruto's words. Naruto deadpanned. "That sounded a lot more encouraging in my head..."

Sasuke scoffed. "Of course it did dope, isn't that the reality of everything you say?" Suddenly, Sasuke fell into a short string of strangled coughs, and Sakura rushed forward. However Sasuke regained his bearing and shooed off his worried wife. Sakura pursed her lips, and gave him one concerning glance before sitting down. She knew as well as anyone, that Sasuke would not allowed her to do anything now, not when the end was so near.

A silent tear ran down sarada's check, as the full idea of her father leaving the world of the living finally was met with full light. Although she had never actually been close with her father, she could clearly picture all the times where her dad took the role of being a father. Where he acted like a real father, and she didn't want to lose him.

Sasuke's eyes flickered over to the distressed face of his daughter, her silent tears fell to her lap and stained her shinobi uniform. Sasuke frowned, his daughter was crying over his sorry state, and strangely sent a pang through his heart. He reached over, and with his bony hand weakly grasped his daughters.

Her eyes widened at the sudden touch and she glanced over at her fathers pale face. Contrary to her feeling of fear, sadness, and guilt, his face held peace, calmness, and worry. Worry? Her father was worried, for her, for his well being? She couldn't figure it out, and it only made her cry harder.

Her father was so calm in the face of death, why was she crying then, she wasn't the one dying. She gripped her father's hand tighter. "Why?... Why are you so calm, how can you be so calm... And yet, a-and yet-"

"Shinobi conduct: rule 25: a Shinoni must never show emotion in any given situation." Sasuke muttered.

"Father... Can you tell me that story again? The one you used to always tell me when I was so little, being a shinobi was merely a dream?" Sarada rasped.

Sasuke's eyes felt heavy, each breath was more labored then the next and each one hurt more and more. Sakura's eyes widened slightly as the memories flashed in her head.

"Which one?" He managed out.

"Father can you tell me the story, about the brother who loved you... And the hero, who saved you?"

Sasuke Uchiha died with a smiled on his pale face. The voices of his teammates and daughter echoing through his head.
