CHAPTER 6 - chunin exams begins, written exam

Naruto found it slightly odd that they were given five chances to cheat. It was like they wanted people to cheat. She glanced down at her test and sweatdropped. Of course that was what they wanted! The test was rigged with extremely difficult questions that most ninja would have to cheat in order to get the answers or if your smart enough like Sakura, she's already writing down answers, well she is book smart, if only she were smart when it comes to jutsu's and stuff, because Ino just used her family jutsu to copy off Sakura.

Naruto sighed. 'Well I better get to it' He looks down at his page and read the questions. 'Well at least I can answer some of them, why does it have to be so hard' he shakes his head but starts writing the answers down on his page.

Shikamaru, who was several seats behind Naruto, and off to the right was looking at the blonde in shock. 'So I was right, Naruto is smart' shikamaru thought, also writing down answers to the questions on the sheet, finally motivated to do something.

During the test, there were a few groans and a lot of complaining from the genin's in the room when there proctor ibiki calls out 'dismissed' to the people who were cheating.

Naruto watched as the proctor glanced at the clock and whistled. "Pencils down!"

A collective groan met his order, and he threw them all a glare. "It's time for the last question. You may choose of course not to take it. However, you and your team, will be booted out immediately if you do."

"Well then of course we'd take it!" Some ninja from another village said.

"You can take the question, but if you get it wrong, you fail automatically and you can never become Chunin, which means you stay a Genin forever." Ibiki says, grinning as he was looking at the faces of all the genin in the room, struggling with their answer on what to do, there was a lot a ninja saying 'they quit' and 'saying they would come back next year'.

"You sure you want to give, pinky" ibiki says.

When Naruto and sasuke heard that, they turned around and looked at Sakura 'what is she thinking' they both thought but instead Naruto says it out loud.

"What are you doing, Sakura" Naruto shouts.

"Well if we quit now, we could come back next year and you won't have to give up on your dream of becoming hokage" Sakura says looking down at the floor.

"What gives you the right to make up a decision like that on your own" Naruto says angrily, making Sakura look up.

"I thought I could help" she says

"Help?, I think I can make that decision myself, are you really thinking about the team or just yourself, I don't care if I have to stay a genin for the rest of my life, I will be taking part in this exam and I'm sure sasuke agrees with me" Naruto finished.

Sakura looked a bit shocked after hearing Naruto and sits back down in her chair.

"So is your team giving up" ibiki says, tapping his foot on the ground.

"No way, why would I?, Sakura?" Said Naruto looking at Sakura now.

"I would like to continue" she says quietly.

"Ok then, is there anymore who would like to drop out now?" Ibiki says

The room was quiet, people nodding there head saying 'no'

'Well it seems that little brat was able to bring more confidence to the rest of this class' ibiki thought.

"Okay, since there is no more that want to drop out, I would like to say, congratulations you all past" the proctor says with a smirk.

A moment of silence......before it went to pot.

"WHAT?!"

"PASS?!"

Ibiki was smiling, like Naruto when he pulled off an epic prank. "You all passed!"

"There wasn't one. This was designed to see if you all had the guts to stick out a difficult mission to the end. Even at the cost of never rising in rank. The first nine questions were to show us how well you'd do at gathering data. We even placed two Chunin, with all of the answers, among you. Then, we had to see if you had the guts to follow through to the end, no matter the consequences for failing," Ibiki was grinning widely.

The Genin that remained were all staring at him in silence.

Before he could speak, the window exploded and he stepped back in order to avoid the purple and tan ball that flew through the new hole.

"Alright you maggots, listen up!"

Ibiki sighed as Anko introduced herself. He couldn't help feeling annoyed with her.

The woman chuckled and surveyed the room, "Twenty six teams Ibiki? You're getting soft!"

"We have a more outstanding group this year," Ibiki smiled.

She shrugged, "Well, it doesn't matter to me. Half of them will be gone when I'm finished. I look forward to seeing who survives!"

The Genin all shivered. For some reason, Mitarashi Anko was scarier than the first proctor.

"Now! Follow me!"

Once everyone left the room, ibiki started collecting the exam papers.
This time, Ibiki was aware that three people didn't cheat. He was interested in seeing their scores.

Ibiki gazed outside, the hole providing him with nice view of the sunset. The Chunin Exams would prove to be great this time around.
