CHAPTER 2
"Hmph... Dad..." Boruto muttered as he walked down the dirt road of the village, "I can't believe..." He gritted his teeth and clenched his fists, "he even pays more attention to a stranger like me when he was younger... Stupid old man..."
Old man...
Old...
Suddenly, Boruto vanished in a cloud of smoke... Nothing left but drops of blood on the dirt...
"... Dad."
"BORUTO!"
Naruto panted as he sat up in his bed. He looked around and only saw Hinata dusting the shelves of their room.
"Naruto?!" Hinata turned, "are you okay? You suddenly yelled Boruto's name..."
"Yeah... Yeah I'm fine." Naruto sighed as he rubbed his forehead, "what time is it?"
"12 in the afternoon."
"What? Hinata, why didn't you wake me?!" Naruto jumped up and started to panic, "crap! I'm supposed to be at work!"
"You know..." Hinata chuckled, "ever since you started sleeping at home and not working all night, you've slept like a baby. Of course I didn't want to wake you."
Naruto sighed, calming a bit, "I guess you're right... Thank you."
"Mhm!" Hinata blushed.
"So..." Naruto turned, "where are Boruto and Hima, anyways?"
"Hima's out with Inojin again, Boruto's with Sasuke."
Naruto snickered, "I swear, even after everything that happened at the Chunin exams, he still spends every second he can with that show-off..."
Before Hinata could protest, the doorbell rang. The two went down to see who it was, but who they saw shocked them.
"Sasuke? Sakura?" Naruto stared at both Uchiha standing before them. What was really troubling Naruto was that Sakura looked tired out like she'd been running, and Sasuke had the most serious expression, one he hadn't seen since the war, "what's going on?"
"Naruto! Hinata!" Sakura's voice was shaky and full of worry, "it's Sarada!"
At the tone of her voice and the way she said Sarada's name, the color drained from both Naruto and Hinata's faces, "what..."
"Boruto, too..." Sasuke's voice trembled too, "they were training, I was watching. Until they both vanished... They were Shadow Clones."
"That dream..." Naruto was fearful, "Boruto..."
"Where could they have gone?!" Hinata muttered.
"We don't know." Sakura managed, "Sasuke's trying to find a way to trace their chakra, but they're not even in the village anymore..."
Suddenly, Naruto's cell phone went off, "yeah?"
"Naruto."
"Kakashi-Sensei?"
"What happened?"
Naruto sighed, "you heard too? Sasuke and Sakura are over here. We're trying to figure out what happened to them."
"What?"
"With Boruto and Sarada..."
Kakashi was silent for a moment, "that's not what I was talking about."
"Oh..."
"But I actually might have an answer to your problem." Kakashi continued, "Shikamaru told me that when he went into your office this morning, he found one of your forbidden jutsu scrolls open on the floor."
Naruto felt his palms get sweaty, "wh-which jutsu?"
"The Time-Space Jutsu."
Naruto stared at Sasuke.
"What?"
Kakashi continued, "we took care of the situation. Nothing really harmful happened except for the fact that Boruto and Sarada are missing."
"We need to get them back." Naruto said, "thanks, Kakashi-Sensei."
"They went back in time?!"
"Mhm."
Sasuke sighed in frustration at Naruto's response, "my daughter's stuck in a different dimension with your idiot son..."
"That should be the least of our worries right now, Sasuke!!"
"I know." Sasuke regained all seriousness, "with my Rinnegan, I can take us to whatever time period they're in."
"Right." Naruto nodded, then turned to Hinata and Sakura, "you two stay here. Don't worry, we'll get our kids back."
"I'm going."
Sasuke turned, "what?"
Sakura planted her hands on her hips defiantly, "I'm going, and there's nothing you could do or say to make me say otherwise."
Sasuke stared at her, then at Naruto, who looked from Sakura to Hinata.
"I'll be fine here." Hinata smiled, "besides, I need to take care of Himawari."
"Thank you..." Naruto smiled as he approached her, "I promise... I'll bring him home. Safe and sound."
"I know you will." Hinata smiled as she gave him a kiss, "I want you home safe and sound, too."
"Come on, Naruto. Enough dilly dallying with Hinata."
"Oh please..." Naruto rolled his eyes as Hinata blushed and giggled, "you and Sasuke are one to talk."
"Wh-what?!" Sakura's face turned bright red as Sasuke just smirked and turned to leave.
"Okay, you loser. Let's go." Sasuke shut his eye, then activated his Rinnegan, "So how far back?"
"Hm... If I remember what the jutsu was set at..." Naruto thought, then nodded, "twenty years ago."
Sasuke nodded, then a portal swirled before them, "go on."
Naruto took a final look back at Hinata before he followed Sakura through the portal. Sasuke then stepped through the portal right before it vanished.
Hinata held her hands tightly and smiled, "Good luck... Naruto."

Sarada watched the back of Naruto's head as he grumbled to himself why he was late again, "look, sorry, but you really didn't have to take me along."
"Of course I did." Naruto grinned, "besides. It might make Sasuke jealous, seeing I've scored a girl."
"What?!"
"Oh nothing!"
Sarada crossed her arms as Naruto marched along. Hmph... Since when was Lord Seventh a total perv?
"Naruto. You're late AGAIN."
Sarada stopped and stared, "m-mom."
"Sorry, Sakura, I found this girl. Says she's from the Village Hidden in the Meadow!" Naruto giggled childishly.
"You dummy! What are you doing bringing her here? You idiot!" Sakura slapped Naruto before turning to Sarada, "sorry about him. He's a real bother. My name's--"
"Sakura Haruno! I know you! I'm a huge fan, you have no idea." Sarada smiled brightly.
"Uh, yeah..." Sakura stared at her in unbelief, then beamed, "wow! I'm famous?! Oh you shouldn't have! I guess I have time for a few autographs..."
"Oh please..." Naruto rubbed his cheek, "she's not even here to see you. Where is the guy, anyway?"
Sarada looked around anxiously, until she suddenly felt a chill run down her spine, and before she even realized it, there was someone standing behind her.
"Naruto."
The voice was like ice on a window sill.
"Sasuke!" Sakura smiled.
Naruto crossed his arms, "Where were you?!"
"I got started training without you." Sasuke replied bluntly, "who's she?"
"Hey, don't go beating the mud, Sasuke. She wanted to come see you." Naruto grumbled.
"Me?"
Sarada slowly and silently nodded without turning to meet his gaze, which was now piercing her back.
"Who are you?"
"I-I'm Sara Uchi, from the Village Hidden in the F-Field." Sarada stuttered.
"Field? Never heard of that village before." Sasuke rose an eyebrow.
"You said you were from the Village Hidden in the Meadow..." Sakura spoke up, and Sasuke only gave Sarada an even weirder look.
"Uh, don't stress her out, guys..." Naruto chuckled nervously, "she's here visiting from out of the village."
Sasuke's glare shifted to Naruto, "you really are an idiot, aren't you? She could be a spy for all we know! Doesn't her clan symbol look suspicious enough?!"
"Yeah, right..." Sarada looked down at the floor, "of course you'd say that about me. Wouldn't you?"
"I don't even know you." Sasuke turned to her, "I don't know how you know me, but--"
"Sasuke!"
The two Uchiha turned to look at the pinkette, "will you stop being so cold for once? She's a young shinobi like us. She would never be set up to this!"
"Hn." Sasuke glared at Sarada one final time before walking away.
"Hey guys. Sorry I'm--"
"We don't even need to hear it!!" Naruto yelled as the four turned to see the masked Jonin.
"Oh?" Kakashi looked at Sarada, "and who's this?"
"Sara Uchi from the Hidden Meadow, Lord-- I mean, Mr. Kakashi." Sarada chuckled.
"Hm? You know my name?" Kakashi chuckled, "well that's a surprise."
"Hmph." Sasuke looked away.
"I've heard a lot about your team, and I love you guys. You're all my inspiration." Sarada managed, "especially, uh... Sasuke."
Everyone looked to the ravenette, who didn't even glance in their direction.
"Well it's nice to meet you, Sara. We could always use more girls on the team." Kakashi grinned underneath his mask, "we're just going to be doing training and sparring, but I'm sure you could manage."
"Yeah!" Naruto grinned and nodded.
"Oh shut up, you moron. The last thing she needs is someone like you to annoy the living daylight out of her." Sakura rolled her eyes, "here, Sara! You can spar with me!"
"O-okay!" Sarada smiled, then glanced back at the secluded Uchiha sitting in the dark shadow of a tree as a memory flashed in her mind...

"Dad!"
"What is it?"
The cold response only caused Sarada to lose half of her confidence, "uh... I was hoping that you could train with me."
"Train? You know there are many more ninja in the village you can train with."
"But..." Sarada muttered, feeling next to defeated.
"Sarada wants you to train her."
The two turned to see Sakura walk up to them, "Mom!"
"Sakura..."
"Sasuke. You're her father. Doesn't a daughter need her quality time with her father? That's one of the perks of being a dad, right?"
"Hn..."
"Besides." Sakura rose an eyebrow, knowing his weak spot, "she can always go to Naruto for--"
"Sarada. Let's go."
Sakura chuckled as Sarada followed her father down the road to the forest to train.
__________
"Dad... You have no idea what this spar meant to me..." Sarada panted as she brushed dust off her uniform.
"Sarada... There's really nothing I can teach you now. You've already learned what you need to know. Maybe even more." Sasuke smiled.
"Yeah... But..." Sarada looked at the dirt floor.
"Sarada... Don't look like that." Soon after, he gestured her over. As soon as she approached him, he poked her forehead, "I'll see you later. Okay?"
Sarada felt her forehead, where Sasuke left his mark, "okay!"
He smiled and nodded, then walked off, leaving a very satisfied and ecstatic Uchiha...
Sarada snapped back to reality as she looked down at Sakura panting in front of her, kunai in hand.
"Wow... You're strong!" Sakura beamed in awe.
Sarada nodded as she tried hard not to activate her Sharingan, which would only make her stronger, "thanks! Your speed is awesome, too!" I can seriously be faster with my Sharingan, though... She chuckled to herself.
"Alright. You win this round." Sakura chuckled as she held out her two fingers. Sarada smiled and formed the Shinobi peace symbol with her.
"Now then..." Kakashi started, "Naruto and Sasu--"
"Wait."
They all turned to Sarada suddenly, "S-Sara?"
"Naruto won't be fighting him." Sarada turned to look at the dark Uchiha leaning against the trunk of the tree, who was now watching her cautiously, "because I want to fight Sasuke Uchiha."
