Last time
once they did they noticed everyone going and getting a scroll once they got theirs they noticed that naruto went in on his own before coming back out from the curtain with a feral fox like smirk before cracking his neck and heading towards the nearest unoccupied gate after that everyone follow suit and anko said to the groups "I pity you all with the gaki in the forest he is your worst predator" once everyone was at their gates anko shouted "SECOND PHASE OF THE CHUNNIN EXAM........BEGIN"

all of the gates opened as ninja entered the training grounds only a few minutes later were 9 screams of terror heard. Anko who was sat outside smirked darkly and said "your taichou's prey now good luck because if you get out alive you would have accomplished a great feat" before going back to eating dango.

Team seven who were the closest to the last set of screams tensed as a giant gust of wind blew sending menma and flying. When the winds died down the group had noticed menma was missing. After a few minutes menma appeared and sasuke said "what is the password" menma recited a password and sasuke and mito attacked him while sakura was confused on as to what is going on.

'menma' suddenly said "what are you doing sasuke? Sis?" a dark glare was sent their way and all of a sudden 'menma' was tied to a tree as sasuke said "we never did create a password for our group so you already failed the test" the rest of the group finally understanding what was going on and a poof was heard. "my aren't you the clever one" they noticed that it was the grass ninja from before and mito shivered as there was something about her that they didn't like.

After fighting for a while the grass ninja revealed that she was in fact a he and that he goes by orochimaru of the sannin when the others heard that they started to back up menma arrived Just as sasuke was about to give him there scroll but was knocked out.

Just as orochimaru was going to attack sasuke a very low predatory growl was heard and suddenly stood in front of the group was something covered in blood they could tell it was a person that they didn't want to fight as they could tell he was strong. Orochimaru had taken team sevens scroll and burned it.

When orochimaru was about to ask the person who they were the figure spoke and said " I believe I told you lackey that I didn't want a snake going around my business orochimaru" the other four knew that they had heard that voice before but couldn't place it, but they knew that orochimaru knew who the boy was because his eyes widened before he had a not so easily concealed scared smirk on his face as he said "it's been a long time naruto-kun" the members of time seven watched in shock as they found out that the blood covered person fighting their enemy was in fact their teammate.

Due to the amount of blood team seven believed that it was naruto's and that he was gravely injured however naruto walked forward and as he was going un sealed a rather familiar sword at least to sasuke anyway it was vaguely familiar to the twins. As naruto walked forward orochimaru's face became one of untold fear and with that naruto disappeared from view just as a very deep gash made it's way down orochimaru's chest lets just say team seven were shocked after that he disappeared.

Naruto on the other hand looked at the shell shocked members of team seven and sighed before creating shadow clones and transporting them to outside the tower when the team looked at naruto they said "why did you bring us here we don't have a scroll" after that naruto dug into his weapon poach and produced both a heaven and an earth scroll chucking them at sasuke when sakura looked at him and said "what about you you're going to fail if you give us your scrolls" naruto rolled his eyes before pulling out two identical scrolls to the ones that he threw at sasuke before walking through the doors with the others following before saying "open your scrolls and through them far away from you" the others nodded and did that at the same time naruto did.

Three puffs of smoke were seen two on one side of the room where team seven through their scroll and one on the other side of the room where Naruto through his. When the two poofs of smoke from team seven cleared they saw minato and kushina who looked at their children proud and shocked that they got here so early they started talking when about what happened in the forest forgetting to mention that naruto saved them and helped them pass.

They then heard "you couldn't have done it without getting blood on you could you" minato and kushina looked over to see a blood covered boy stood in front of the third hokage. They were on guard. "what can I see lord third I was having fun –" the room started getting colder "-and besides it's fun to watch my prey squirm in fear" now everyone other than the third hokage was on edge.

Hiruzen sighed and said "go wash up there is still 4 and a half days left once you get back I have a 3 day mission for you and Anko" naruto nodded before leaving to go clean up. Hiruzen waited a few minutes a long with the others before the figure came back again only blood free this time. Minato and kushina went wide eyed when they saw who it was.

Naruto walked back over to Hiruzen and bowed as Hiruzen passed naruto a scroll and naruto doing the same to Hiruzen before naruto disappeared in a shunshin. Minato walked over to Hiruzen and looked at the scroll in hiruzen's hand before saying "what is the scroll for lord third" the sarutobi looked over and said "nothing just a mission report I need to file and get some of the anbu to check out a lead that the boy has got for my regarding that critical situation that you were notified of." Minato and kushina paled and kushina said "wasn't kakashi the one that informed you of that" the third nodded and said "yes but it was naruto who told him to do it because he couldn't risk being seen.

The teenagers looked confused anyway for the next three days team seven spent restoring their chakra and energy on the second to last day naruto appeared (wearing what is pic above but anbu tattoo is covered by genjutsu).

After that he went to one of the upstairs rooms not appearing until the next day. When the last teams arrived in the hall they looked around at their opponents and the rookies didn't spot naruto and kiba said obnoxiously "so the squirt didn't make it huh" a second later a kunai knife landed at said boys feet and kiba looked at where the kunai came from and saw naruto stood next to the third hokage talking to him quietly about something while looking at a scroll on the man's lap his hand out stretched showing that he threw the kunai.

Kiba whispered to himself "no way" the other rookies followed his gaze and saw naruto none had yet noticed his outfit change. Sarutobi looked up and nodded before signalling to naruto to go and stand at the end one the boy had done that minato and kushina looked shocked to see that he didn't have a team and then paled when they remembered that due to numbers one of kakashi's team members had to go in on their own.

After Hiruzen finished his speech he started to talk about the third event when hayate gekkou jumped down and said while coughing "sir I am the third proctor for the exam my I explain it to them" Hiruzen nodded.

Hayate turned to the others and said "if ahnyone *cough cough* is feeling that they will not be able to participate they may leave now" kabuto put his hand up and then left naruto put his hand behind his back and signalled his best anbu operatives to follow the snake without anyone else seeing.

"we will now begin the preliminaries for the third exam as too many people have passed behind me on the plaque two names will appear the two names mentioned will stay here and the rest will go onto those stands up there. Now the first two opponents are ..............sasuke uchiha and yoroi akado" after that everyone went to the second floor before the match started.

Sasuke was having his chakra drained bit by bit but beat yoroi the matches continued with shikamaru, neji, mito, dosu, sasuke, shino, temari, kankuro, gaara and naruto as the winners

After that all the winners were asked to take lots:
1. naruto
2. Neji
3. Gaara
4. Sasuke
5. Shino
6. Kankuro
7. Mito
8. Temari
9. shikamaru
10. Dosu

Hiruzen smiled at the winners and and said "you all have 1 month to train and prepare for the third stage of the exams. Good luck to all" Hiruzen said and then looked at naruto and who nodded before secretly placing a seal on the sound ninja sensei who didn't notice before nodding back signalling that he was done and that he would meet him in the office.
