(Author's Note Taking place sometime after Naruto and the rest of the Sasuke Retrieval Squad failed to bring Sasuke back to the Leaf Village, but before Naruto left for the village. )

Komachi and Towa, the two members of the ANBU fought off a group on Rogue Ninja, in the Forest. However, they lost track of their fleeting opponents, finding a small village nearby consumed in flames. To them, it appeared the villagers have killed each other.

The next day, Naruto and Kakashi arrive in the Hokage's office, where Tsunade and Jiraiya warn them that rogue ninja may have planned to attack the Hidden Leaf. Gaara and Baki arrive from the Hidden Sand to give them the information that they know. Naruto, Kakashi, and Gaara set out in the village to find any Rogue Ninja when they stumble around Choji, who they quickly realize is under a genjutsu when he decides to attack them.

"Kakashi sensei, I'll handle this one. You and Gaara stay back."

The two nod in agreement and let him handle this.

Choji immediately transforms his hand thrice as large with his Partial Expansion. Naruto creates clones to block, but is easily knocked apart. Choji lunges at him, and Naruto dodges his mighty swings, trying to avoid Choji's powerful strength. He takes out a kunai, and he and a clone slash at Choji. His chubby ally breaks them early with a mighty slap, grabbing one of the Naruto's and delivering a surplex that crushes them to the ground in a puff of white smoke. Confused, Choji looks around only, only for Naruto to rush at him with a Rasengan. Choji immediately counters with an Expansion Jutsu, quickly exploding in size and knocking Naruto back. He started thinking back to when Choji fought Jirobo and Dosu.

"After Expansion Jutsu, its..right! Multi-Shadow Clone Jutsu!" This time he summoned hundreds of clones as Choji came, rolling in like a tank with Human Boulder. All the Narutos raced at Choji, digging their nails and every ounce of their bones to try and stop the Akimichi champion. Choji attempted to speed up, but their efforts reduced his efforts to nothing. They all delivered a string of uppercuts to smash him upwards into the air. The three consider Naruto has won his victory until Choji pulls out a ace in the hole:

"Super Expansion Jutsu!!" He grows to about 50 times his size. Fearful of the danger and other civilians around, Kakashi and Gaara elect to intervene only for Naruto to smirk.

"If 100 Clones isn't enough, let's do 2,000!" Naruto summons multiple clones, all of which jump into the air and propelled each other at Choji's falling body, repeating an endless barrage of attacks by the second, somewhat slowing down his decent. Two clones grab two Naruto, and chuck them at Choji's massive size.

"Let's go everyone! Naruto 2K Uzumaki Barrage!"

All of the clones push through with one final swing as the two of the them puncture Choji straight away, knocking him out of his Super Expansion Jutsu mode as he falls towards the nearby shops.

"When push comes to shove, I get the job done, believe it!"

However, Choji suddenly recovers, emitting bright blue chakra around his back and arm.

What, what is that?

"The Akimichi clan has a few secret techniques and forbidden jutsu that take a long time for them to master, and they can bypass them with pills, though Choza said they can kill him. His chakra control isn't perfect, though which means he must've done something beforehand."

Naruto, thinking of the danger, closes his mind and enters his subconscious, the Nine Tails appearing in front of him.

"You're not on the brink of death this time. Do you really think I should lend you my help again?"

Naruto says nothing, just extending his hands out.

"Fine. I sense you'll be needing it for whatever's going on. Don't waste it."

Naruto opens his eyes, bathing in a oozing red aura with his eyes red, sharper whiskers, and looks back to Gaara and Kakashi.

"Is that the One Tailed? So you've also achieved a similar state."

"I won't go berserk. Gaara, sensei. Find a way to shield everyone around us, quickly. I'll be okay"

Kakashi and Gaara comply, using Earth Style: Mud Wall and Sand Shield, surrounding Naruto and Choji in a closed darkened space by sand and Earth, hoping to reduce the damage. Naruto faces Choji, who's wings and right hand radiate with a large blue chakra flow. He used his cloak, charging his own Rasengan in his hands, going from the bright blue ball of energy to a larger purple one.

"Butterfly"

"Vermillion"

The two race towards each other with blinding speed.

"Bomb!"

"Rasengan!"

The two of their attacks clash, shockwaves of their powerful chakra slowly breaking apart the protection around them, stalemating with one trying to gain the advantage over the other. As Naruto charges onwards, he sees an image of Sasuke walking away from him in the rain, desperately trying to reach him but to no avail. He shakes it off as the two attacks start scraping off from each other.

"This time, I won't miss. I'll save Choji, and then I'll bring you back!" Naruto slightly curves his hand and face, dodging Choji's Butterfly Bomb with the immense chakra grazing his face, and lands the Vermillion Rasengan in Choji's chest, blowing him straight into Gaara and Kakashi's wall and blowing the whole thing up. As the sky emerges, Naruto calms down and seeing the massive wounds on Choji's chest, lends him some of his chakra, which slowly begin healing his friends' wounds. Gaara and Kakashi manipulate the sand and use Water Style: Water Dragon Jutsu, reducing the impact of the sand to nothing but a slight distraction. Choji eventually wakes up.

"What happened? Naruto, Kakashi sensei? Gaara too, what's going on?"

"You were under some strange genjutsu. You attacked me, you hungry oaf."

"Enemy ninja may have infiltrated the village. Are you fit enough to move up?"

"Yeah, yeah. I hope I didn't cause any trouble."

Naruto lifts him up.

"No way man, we had an awesome fight, Believe It! After this, let's have a sparring match."

"You got it. Alright!" Choji stretches his muscles as they see signs of rogue ninja escaping the premises.

"You guys go ahead, I'll protect everyone here. Naruto, let's save the village and then we'll have that rematch."

"Sounds good, Choji. Kakashi sensei, Gaara, let's go!"

The three nod as Choji fights off his recoil, preparing to protect the rest of the Leaf Village's nearby citizens while the trio move on to find the other Rouge Ninja that have infiltrated their home.
