THE VALLEY (chapter 8)
Thomas
After having brought in a few boxes, I decided to see what Y/n was up to.
Not because I really, really liked her.. (A/n we know you like her! Don't deny it! ;3) But because she's my friend.
I walked down the hallway and saw a door open. The room I was giving to Y/n.
I knocked lightly on the door, "Can I come in?"
"Yeah," Y/n replied, her smooth voice flowing through the doorway like caramel dow- Snap out of it!
I'm standing outside the door like an idiot!
I walked in, calming my flushing face. "Have you seen the valley outside?" I asked seeing Y/n sitting on the seat beside the window.
She looked at me, "No, have you?"
"I was actually heading there right now," I said twiddling my thumbs, "I wanted to know of you wanted to come."
Her eyes lit up, "Of course!" Y/n hopped off the seat and rushed towards me.
I smiled and walked towards the stairs. We rushed to the back and opened the sliding glass door as quickly as possible.
As my eyes made contact with the field of flowers, I heard Y/n let out a gasp.
(A/n: Photo above is the field)
Also, I heard Harley tumbling out the doorway, tripping over himself and plopping into the floor.
He's okay.. Just awkward.
Y/n turned to face me, "How much did this even cost? An amazing interior and a valley all to ourselves?"
"Surprisingly," I started, "not much. Just $2,500 for a year a six months until it's paid off."
(A/n: I'm not sure if that makes sense. I've never. Bought a house. Just winging it..)
Y/n
That's actually not a lot.. Which is good. I wouldn't want Thomas spending all his savings on me just because I can't stand up to my dad..
"Hey, what time is it?" Thomas asked.
"Adventure time?" I joked, "Oh, are we being serious?"
"Yeah, but that was pretty clever," Thomas chuckled.
I grabbed my phone, "It's 6:39, by the way."
Thomas nodded in response.
"It's a beautiful view from here," I stated out of the blue.
Then, an idea came into my mind, "I'll be right back!"
With no further words, I rushed inside and ran to my unpacked bedroom and snatched a small gray blanket off the window seat.
I ran downstairs, almost tripping over my own feet.
I maintained my balance and began to hurry outside.
I'm in too much of a hurry... Geez. I am way to spastic. Chill, Y/n, chill!
I walked out, calm, cool, and collected, with the gray blanket underneath my arm.
I found a nice grassy clearing with no flowers under it. I don't want to ruin this scenery.
"Have a seat, Mr. Sanders," I joked with an awful French accent.
"Why thank you Ms. Y/L/N," he retorted with the same horrible French accent.
I laughed and plopped down on the soft ground. Shocking cause I thought it was going to stab me in the buttocks...
(A/n: Be honest! ... Who else laughed at the word "buttocks"?? ✋)
Thomas sat beside me as I watched Harley prance around and fall down.
He stood back up and chased a dragonfly.
"Harley is the cutest little guy ever!" Thomas exclaimed smiling.
"I can think of someone else who's wayyyy cuter" I thought to myself feeling my cheeks flush with heat.
Thomas looked back at me, "Are you okay? Your face is super red."
My eyes widened, I didn't expect myself to blush at that..
"Oh, you know. Afternoon heat kills me So my face gets super red.." I lied with a crooked smile.
"Oh, okay," Thomas ended, "Harley! Stop harassing that bird!"
I laughed as I saw Harley barking at a pigeon just standing there cocking his head at the small dog barking at him
"This guy, barking at everything," Thomas retorted.
Then, silence washed upon the valley. Nothing could be heard.
As of on cue, I heard a I trickling noise. I stood up, "Do you hear that?"
"No, what is it?" asked Thomas standing up from the blanket too.
"It sounds like water.. Or something.." I replied walking towards a small patch or land covered by large bushes.
I squeezed through the bushes and was met with a small river. It looked to be pretty far stretching.
Thomas came out of the bushes slapping away at the leaves in his hair.
"Whoa. I didn't know there was a river here!" He chirped looking in.
I saw small blue fish swimming around. It was so cute!
"Aww! Look at the fishy! I'm gonna call him Harold!" I cheered kneeling down and looking at Harold swim around.
"How do you know it's a 'he?'" Thomas asked looking down at Harold.
"I don't know. But if it's a girl, she'll be name Harriet! Like Harold but a girl," I responded with a small smile.
"Harold? Harriet? Harley? What's with all the 'H's?!" Thomas exclaimed.
I laughed, "I just noticed that.. Wow."
(A/n: Seriously.. I just noticed that..)
I hopped up, "We better head back home. Its getting pretty late now."
Thomas nodded.
We walked through the bush and saw Harley knocked out on the blanket. His sides falling and rising slowly.
I smiled and slowly picked him job still wrapped in the blanket.
"Hey, Y/n? Can I ask you something?" Thomas asked from behind me.
I turned around, "Yeah, sure."
Thomas began to play with his fingers. I noticed his face reddening.
Thomas looked up at me, "I wanted to know if, possibly, you'd want to, maybe, go on a date with me?"
My eyes widened. "Are you serious? Yes!!" I cheered smiling widely.
"Wait- Really?!" Thomas asked rather surprised.
I nodded with this smile not leaving my face.
Thomas's face lit up, a super large smile spread through his blushing face.
I chuckled as I noticed something.
"And also," I walked closer, "You've had a twig in your hair this entire time."
I showed Thomas the small stick I just pulled out of his soft brunette hair.
"What? What else is in here?!" He asked himself feeling his head.
"Nothing you should worry about," I smiled and poked his nose, heading inside with Harley still sleeping.
