Sunshine (Caspian) - Part 1
Setting: Caspian's Reign
I looked at the King beside me. He was so handsome in the golden sunlight.

Y/N's POV
I was peering through the glass that kept me from entering the Hall of Lords, where they were discussing rather important plans. You see, I'm the Princess of Calormen. And my father, the King, is preparing for an alliance with Narnia.
"He arrived a few hours ago and is presently resting." I heard my father say.
I wondered who they were talking about. But I was interrupted by a loud clatter of utensils. I ran to the kitchen.
"Claudia, is everything alright?" I addressed the chef.
I saw Claudia sitting in a chair, clasping her chest and having some sort of a panic attack.
"Okay. Deep breaths. Deep breaths." I cooed the old dearie.
"Now, now. What's happened that's left you in such shock?"
"There was a...a...a thing! Or such a frightful person clothed in black." she shook me.
"Where?" I asked.
She simply pointed out the window. Before she could say anything else, I was out of the kitchen.
The fresh air greeted me as I stepped out into the garden. But instead of the colourful flowers, my eye fell on a figure covered in black. A human figure, to be specific.
"Who are you?" I asked, hoping I hadn't scared him/her.
He seemed hesitant for a moment, but then lifted up the hood of his cloak.
"I am King Caspian of Narnia." he stood up straight. "Who are you?"
"Princess Y/N of Calormen." I said, straightening myself as well.
He seemed a bit embarassed. At first I thought it was because he did not recognise me to be a Princess. But then he said, "Forgive me, Princess. I was merely taking a walk. I needed some fresh air."
"Well, that's alright." I said, confused as to why he apologised.
He seemed to have recognised my confusion because he then said, "Your father wished for me to remain in my chamber."
Oh. That made some sense.
"How did you get out?" I asked.
"Oh...er..." he smiled sheepishly.
I looked at him curiously.
"I jumped out of the window." he said softly.
"Oh, don't worry. My room is quite low." he replied to my widened eyes.
This charming King invited me to walk with him and I gladly accepted. I told him about the alliance with Narnia. He seemed to blush at that. He knew something I didn't.
Caspian's POV
I heard the Princess mention the alliance. I felt myself blushing at that. I think she noticed, but I was quick to change the subject.
You see, we were having an alliance with Calormen. The Princess knew about that. But she didn't know that it was going to be a marital alliance. I was to be married to this gorgeous woman next to me, and she didn't know! And the King wanted to keep it that way until breakfast tomorrow morning.
Y/N's POV
The King kept changing the subject whenever I brought up the alliance. He definitely knew something I didn't. Then, as we emerged from the thick wood we were taking a stroll in, a broad ray of sunshine was tossed onto us.
I looked at the King beside me. He was so handsome in the golden sunlight.
We walked back to the castle and he headed back to his chamber as I departed to mine. I couldn't stop thinking about him.
When evening finally approached, I got ready for dinner. I walked into the dining hall to see my father and King Caspian (I had learned his name during our walk) discussing something. They stopped as soon as they saw me.
"Y/N dear. You're early." my father kissed my cheek.
"Well, if you aren't early, you're late." I said, shrugging. I actually wanted to arrive earlier than King Caspian, but was disappointed in that.
Dinner was just delightful. Claudia had made an extravagant meal, considering her little panic-episode this afternoon.
After dinner, I had a few minutes alone with King Caspian. In this little time, he told me two things:
1) "You can call me Caspian, Y/N."
2) "Meet me in the central garden at midnight."
