The crocus push up through the snow.

Then come the tiny snowbells, followed by daffodils and hyacinth.

Then the iris, and the lily come in sprays of civilized colors…. And then…

The tulip blooms!

Its blossom proudly sways atop one, thick stem. Two leafy “arms” reach out to praise the sun.

From year to year, the tulip never knows what bright and brilliant color it will give our eyes - it just wants to shine!

The tulip doesn't bloom with the rest of the spring flowers… it blooms in its own time.

So... does that make it a less successful flower?
