Fifteen
“Eomma?”
Jin was panicking, he didn't know what to do. He couldn't just take Yejun and run, that would be kidnapping.
But was he really going to leave the kid in a house with a murderer?
Hell no.
Jin was stopped, however, when Jungkook came down the hall.
“Jin...is everything alright?”
“Doesn't look like everything is alright!? Yoongi just shot someone!” Jungkook paused, but sighed.
“Jin--”
“Oh hell no! You knew about this?! This probably isn't even the first time then!”
“Seokjin.” Jin whipped around, his eyes landing on Yoongi. “Put Yejun down.”
“I'm not leaving this child in a house with someone like you!”
“Would you let me explain?”
“Explain what!? As to why I just saw you kill Mr. Yoo!?”
“He deserved it.” Jin scoffed and turned.
“You're sick. Just because he deserved it doesn't mean that you get to choose to kill him.”
“Jin, I'm really going to need you to put my son down right now and listen to me.”
Jin paused, biting his lower lip, not knowing what to do. Jungkook gave him a look that told him it would be in his best interest to listen to the man.
So Jin hesitatingly put Yejun down and then slowly turned to Yoongi.
“Come with me.” Jin slowly followed Yoongi through the house and towards his office.
Images of the body flashed through his mind. But he chose to not say anything, already scared out of his wits.
Yoongi stepped into the office, Jin doing so after him. His eyes instantly fell to the floor, but there was nothing.
Not even a stain.
It was like it never even happened.
“Sit.” Yoongi demanded.
Seokjin hesitantly sat on the chair, folding his hands into his lap.
“What you saw today, you will forget.”
“You shot someone in the head, totally just gonna forget that.”
“Well you are. And if you don't, you're not going to say anything about it, anyway. You signed a confidentiality contract.”
“So I can be labelled as an accomplice of murder?”
“No one will find out. Relax.”
“Relax!? You just fucking killed someone, and your sitting here calmly and telling me to just...ignore it?”
“Yes, that's exactly what I am telling you.”
“There are other ways to deal with something. The law enforcement maybe.”
“In my world, I am the law enforcement. The judge, jury, and executioner.”
“In your world?”
“I'm a mafia boss.” Yoongi said, shrugging. Jin reeled back, almost as if he'd been hit in the face.
“No, oh hell no, I'm out. No thanks, good bye--”
“Sit your ass down.” Yoongi warned. “You're not allowed to quit for the next six months, remember?”
Jin cursed underneath his breath and slowly sat back down.
“What do you want out of me, then?”
“Your cooperation. This isn't some thing where I'm suddenly going to integrate you into my illegal business. You'll still continue to be Yejun's caretaker, but you'll just...be exposed to more.”
“Why me?”
“Because you're probably the first person who has ever treated my son correctly and cares for him. It took a lot to come in here and tell me that a man who I'd known for twenty six years was beating my son behind my back when I've only known you for about four days.”
“It was the right thing to do.”
“In this world, a lot of people turn a blind eye.” Yoongi shrugged. “But I also keep you around because your goal is to care for my son, not to have me fuck you.”
“That's a reason people get a job here?” Jin wrinkled his nose.
“I'm single, rich, still young. Of course that's something people get a job underneath me for. They think, especially women, that if I sleep with them, that they're somehow special and I'll marry them and shower them with money and gifts. Men do it too, but women tend to be more desperate.”
“So now what?”
“Now you go back to your room, you get some rest, and then you continue on like nothing happened. That's all there is to it. I'm not going to involve you in anything, and you're not going to leave.”
“You're involving my brother, though.”
“And how would you know?”
“Because I've seen him in that damn computer lab everyday, and he's been there since he arrived I'm not stupid, I know that his gifts with technology could be useful for someone like you. But if he ever gets hurt...I don't care if you're some big time boss or whatever, I'm coming after you and whooping your ass until you cry for your mother.”
“And I wouldn't expect any less of you.” Yoongi smirked. “If you could even do it.”
“Try me bitch.” Jin said standing from his seat.
He turned and walked out the office, cursing Yoongi quietly underneath his breath. He made it to his room and sighed, collapsing onto the bed.
He was glad that Yejun would be away from that man now, but…
Oh God.
He'd literally undressed in front of his boss!
He'd shown him the scars and the wounds…
It had been a good idea before…
But now he was mortified and embarrassed.
Jin never let anyone see that part of him, it was something private and something he was so self conscious of. He hated his body and hated it when people saw.
And he'd displayed it to Yoongi for him to see and study.
He hadn't just given the man a glimpse. He'd given him minutes to take everything in.
And it terrified Jin.
Because even though that was something from the past…
It was still with him forever. He'd forever have those scars, and even if the physical ones faded…
He'd always have his mind to remind him of what his body looked like. He'd always know how ruined and broken he was.
He just hoped that Yoongi wouldn't ask him any questions, because he didn't know if he'd be able to answer them.
