"Why do I have to wear this?" Natsu frowned as he watched some of his guild members snicker down at him.

MiraJane patted the sleeves as if they had dust on them. "Oh hush. Everyone is wearing traditional clothing to this festival. Even Gray."

Natsu, on cue, looked over at the ice Mage who was being scolded by Erza for trying to strip. But it seemed different as Erza looked way too gentle with her kimono on.

He looked back at Mira with a pout. "I still don't wanna wear it."

"Oh come on you look adorable."

"I don't want to be adorable." He grumbled and tugged on his collar.

The eldest Strauss sibling opened her mouth to retort but was interrupted when Juvia and Lucy opened the doors with bright grins. "The festivities are starting!" They cheered.

With a sigh, Natsu trudged out of the fairy tail guild with Gray, Erza, Happy, Wendy, Charle, and Lucy following behind.

"Natsu~" Happy sang as he flew up beside him. "Let's go find some food!"

Natsu looked up at the exceed with a glum look. "But Erza said not to get anything to messy." He complained. "I'm craving Nachos too."

Lucy giggled slightly. "Well... Maybe we can go and get some ice cream later, okay?"

Natsu and Happy brightened up and bowed down to the now uncomfortable blonde. "Thank you, goddess!"

Gray crossed his arms and looked around at the festival. "What do I have to do to leave this place?" He grumbled to himself as he looked for an excuse to leave. Immediately, he spotted a certain blue haired girl down by the docks with a joyful grin on her face. "I uh... I'll be right back."

Wendy followed his gaze to the girl, Juvia, and smiled knowingly. "Hey Erza, do you want to come with me to play some games?" She beamed up at the red head.

Ezra's eyes sparkled and she dragged the small girl and her exceed off without a word.

"And then there was three." Lucy sighed and stopped walking to look at Natsu and happy but.... They weren't there. "Eh?

"So... Fireworks are going to be going off?" Levy beams.

Lucy and the small girl managed to find each other after getting lost at the festival.

"Yeah." Lucy grins and fans herself with a fan she bought at a bender. "I was hoping to watch them with my team... But, you know..."

"I understand. I had to ditch Jet and Droy because they wouldn't stop trying to win me presents. And Droy kept having to sit down every few seconds because he would get tired." Levy shrugged, laughing awkwardly.

"Gray found Juvia, while Erza and Wendy went to play games which I had no interest in." Lucy added.

"And Natsu?"

"He just disappeared suddenly, with happy." Lucy grumbled and leaned up against a railing, looking up at the sky where they would be shooting fireworks any moment now. "This always happens."

"Well... It's Natsu." Levy smiled softly. "He probably went to eat food or something."

"But Erza gave him strict rules not to ea—"

"— Do you think Natsu would ever follow the rules?" Levy cut her off with a small giggle.

"Three snow cones please." Natsu slammed some money on the table, startling the poor man from the bender. "Strawberry flavored."

Happy floated around happily, dancing around with the mask that Natsu had bought him.

The treats were quickly made, making Natsu smirk as he was handed two of the three, the other one being given to Happy. "Thanks!" He yipped and began to squeeze his way through the crowd, sniffing around for Lucy's sent.

"Ah! Charle!" Happy cooed as he spotted the white exceed. "Share this snow cone with me."

Natsu watched as his partner flew off away from him without saying a simple goodbye. "Well okay then..." He grumbled and continued to make his way through the festival.

"There you are!" He grinned and ran up to the blonde, who was joined by Levy. "I got you a snow cone, Luce, because I couldn't find any ice cream."

Lucy turned around to look at him, being forced to take a hold of the frozen treat. "O-Oh. I thought I was going to buy it for you and— wait where's Happy?"

Natsu scratched the back of his head and looked back in the direction he came from. "He found Charle and ditched me."

"Welcome to the club." Levy laughed.

"Well I'm glad you're here. The fireworks are going to start soon." Lucy chirped pulling Natsu to the fence, on her left.

The pinkette smiled and brought his snow cone up to his lips as he gazed up at the sky.

It was silent for a moment until Levy dismissed herself after being called over by Gajeel and Panther lily.

Lucy, surprisingly, finished her dessert before Natsu... Which made him look at her with a cocked eyebrow and a small snicker. "Wow, Luce. I'm shocked."

Lucy pouted. "It's not my fault this kimono is really hot. Especially with all these people around, I'm sweating bullets."

Natsu laughed. "To be fair, I think you look really nice."

Lucy blushed and looked away quickly. "Oh shush." She mumbled.

A sudden flash of red and white flashed in the sky, catching their attention.

Everyone around them cheered as more and more fireworks shot up into the sky.

Lucy sighed happily and stood up straight as he admired all the different colors and patterns. And meanwhile, Natsu's attention drifted from the firework display, to Lucy.

Though it was really dark, and their only source of light was the fireworks, Natsu felt like he finally could see Lucy clearly. All her features seemed more... Intriguing, like how the lights seemed to reflect clearly on her brown orbs, and how her blonde hair seemed to absorb the minimal light, making her look like an angel who always brought a certain brightness around with them.

"Wow... They're really going all out, huh?" Lucy suddenly spoke up, snapping Natsu out of his thoughts.

"Y-yeah..." He stuttered, looking back up at the sky. "I guess."

Lucy huffed and looked over at him. "At least seem to be excited, Natsu." She complained.

"I am excited." He frowns, looking back towards her though his cheeks turned pink right when they made eye contact. So he broke eye contact and turned his back to her, cupping his cheeks as he actually felt heat rising on them. "What's happening to me." He hissed to himself.

"Natsu?" The blonde asked cautiously.

"I'm super fine." He squeaks.

Lucy frowned and tapped her fan against the back of his head. "Why won't you look at me?"

"Uhhhhh.... You have... Spinach in your teeth?" He said helplessly.

"But I didn't even—"

"ILL GET IT OUT FOR YOU!" He yelled and spun around, grabbing Lucy's shoulders. She let out a confused hum before he smashed his lips onto her's.

But he immediately pulled away and turned his back to her again, and squatted down on the ground. "What the hell?" He breathed, very bewildered with his actions.

Lucy felt her lips, turning a bright red. "Wh-why did you–?"

"I don't know!" He yelps, glancing back at her over his shoulder. "Y-You just looked so... Pretty and I just..."

Lucy blinks in astonishment as she stared down at the cowering dragon slater. He literally had no idea what he was feeling right now.

"Natsu..." She smiled softly.

"Y... Yeah?" He whimpered.

"I liked it."

"Huh?"

"I liked the kiss."

Natsu slowly stood up and gave her a confused look. "You're not gonna kick me?"

"No. I'm going to thank you?"

"But–"

Before he could finish his sentence, Lucy stepped forward and gave a light peck on his cheek.

Natsu sucked in a short breath and slowly looked down at her eyes, admiring the lighting the fireworks casted upon her face. "You're welcome." He gushed.

Lucy giggled and went to say something teasingly but Natsu suddenly stole her words by placing a more heated kiss on her lips... Which she soon smiled into and happily returned.

"Do I get a thank you for that?" Natsu asked after finally breaking away from the kiss.

"Oh you'll see." Lucy smirked and grabbed the boy's hand.
